So I was wondering, and I'm asking you only out of my own curiosity:

- In the next XP12 versions is it absolutely necessary to implement the "burnt graphics function" again ?
And if YES, why? 🤔

It is obvious that with the changes they are planning to implement, the autoexposure effect will not have the same end results it has now. It will likely be modified together with the other planned changes in the lightning pipeline, so that the end results will be what they're aiming at.

Do you REALLY think LR more or less completely re-wrote the lighting engine and that there were/will be no changes to...uh...lighting necessary?

I really do. First because XP11 birds carried over fine in the visual department as long as they were originally properly set up for PBR and second, because the only occasion where a readjustment is necessary is when Laminar completely replaces its handling of PBR materials with something entirely different. But if that is going to be the case, there will be a developer blog post on it announcing said breakage and remedies, which was not the case for XP11 to XP12!

I mean much the same thing is being widely reported for P3D v6 and its new lighting...

Well, it's the pig that was (and fundamentally still is) ESP's engine with its 6th layer of lipstick on it, so I'm not surprised.
