There's an announcement at The Org and on Facebook. Apparently they are partners with Dassault throughout the development. They aim to be done by 2020. This is awesome news.

Hey Guys, New at Avsim, used to read a bit here and there but mostly been following X-Plane in Discord. Unfortunately lots of the discord news for X-Plane are not being communicated in here so hopefully this thread will add some content around. Anyway, for those who don't know, there have been some recent multiple Q&As in Laminar Research's discord with some VERY interesting news. First, this is the transcript of the previous one, with Ben & Sidney: https://docs.google.com/document/d/13JkolLoebjceCGurDspg3ioijLhUuX-V9gKVDvcJGb0/mobilebasic#heading=h.lb4ymtifd380 This chart is kind of self-explanatory I believe, note that …

I decided to be rather selective with the sims and addons I use. In XP12 I use only 3 aircraft addons, no scenery addons, a few utilities like Avitab and am trying to "deal with" WT3 too, although after having getting accustomed to FSHUD for P3D and MFS it is difficult to like it as much as I do FSHUD... Aircraft: Toliss A320 NEO, FF 757, Zibo 738,TOGA Mitsubishi MU-2B-60 Marquise and the mSparks 744 project. Utilities: AVITAB, and the custom updaters for FF + SkunkCrafts, considering Better Pushback too because I used it in XP11... These addons give me the best sensation I believe XP12 can provide to it's users, but I own many other airplanes that i …

Hi! I have VKB Gladiator NXT EVO, and I thought why shouldn't I use it's full capabilities, and assign three buttons on the base to select SPD, HDG and ALT, and then use rotary encoder as a knob to adjust selected function, and throttle wheel to adjust the VS for example. Very similar to what Knobster does with one button and two rotary encoders. I never found a way to do the above thing via XP11/12 controls menu, so I hope it can be done via simple lua script or plugin, and which one? Thank you in advance.

Hi all, running the latest stable 12.0.8 Steam version. Since (I think, the last RC3), whenever I exit XP, it still shows "Running" on Steam... and I have to manually "STOP" it. Is anyone else having this issue? Plugins: Avitab, Terrain Radar, Global Forests v2, FF A350, Felis 747-200, IXEG 737-300, LES DC-3, Colimata Concorde, Zibo 737-800 (latest version), Reality XP GNS and GTN, Sparky 747-400. Everything else is vanilla - no autoortho, no X-world.

Good evening This is basically addressed to real captains. I would like to know if it's a policy of airlines to authorize pilots to switch off the auto pilot and land the planes manually? Or pilots are requested to fully land the planes in auto pilot until touch down? I see very often videos on YouTube where autopilot are disabled when runways are in sight. Thank you Rgards JP Reuland

Whenever I restart "flying" in XP I stump directly into mesh inconsistencies like the 02/20 runway at LPPT being canted to the West so that when an aircraft lands there the AH clearly shows the inclination and that not only looks ugly but also creates problems with the landing and taxiing, and when I operate from Madeira - LPMA - the slope in the runway is as big as a camel hump 😕 and even the parking area is so slanted that it's difficult to operate there... Up to XP11 I could use that option for scenery flattening, but it is no longer available 😞 What are the alternatives ?

For those who have looking for news on the FF777 v2, I just saw this update Here is clip from the announcement from the org: Dear Friends, As we approach the holiday season, I find it important to share some updates with you. I understand the anticipation surrounding the release of the 777, and all of us appreciate your patience. At this juncture, we are not yet ready to ship the aircraft. I'd like to provide a concise overview of the remaining open issues that must be addressed before reaching the public beta phase: - FMS: LNAV and VNAV guidance - EFB: Performance calculator, pilot utilities - EFIS: weather radar and terrain - Liveries and manu…

I would like to hear from users who have X-Plane 12 and are running it on a laptop. I know the minimum specs and have read of full end machines but what are the specs for running 12 at best speed but not over doing it.

Hello. I am writing a global (for all aircraft) app for XP12 and I need to identify the leftwing, rightwing and center fuel levels (quantities) seperately. The quantities are stored in "sim/flightmodel/weight/m_fuel_total" array (9 values) but I noticed that the order of the array is not standart. For example; default A330 values are like this: L1-C1-R1-L2-R2-C2-?-?-? A350: C-L-R-?-?-?-?-?-? It never follows a specific order. I know I can use "sim/cockpit2/fuel/fuel_level_indicated_left" and "sim/cockpit2/fuel/fuel_level_indicated_right", and then subtract those two values from "sim/flightmodel/weight/m_fuel_total" and find the center tank total but "sim/cock…

Some aircraft really catch peoples attention yet seem relatively unknown outside of the usual GA group of Beechcraft and Cessna. Seems the Ted Smith Aerostar or as it was laterly known the Piper Aerostar and now again just Aerostar is one of those. There are now four different Aerostars offered in XP12. A side note did some time in the real one many many moons again. A very impressive aeroplane, squeezy but they went good! Block to block almost as fast as a King Air over a reasonable distance. Had a reputation for being difficult but they just had a high wing loading that was all. I am more taken by the fact that of all the light twins about in the world that the Ae…

make the default aircraft a bit more "professional" and detailed / correctly modeled... This weekend I spent some time comparing the recently released MFS SU14 Cirrus SR 22 to the default Cirrus SR 22 in XP12, and all taken into consideration, including the simulation of avionics and the engine and prop physics, I have to prefer the MFS version, which is kind of disappointing for me given that I believe XP12 could shine in aircraft like this... not to mention that AFAIK Austin even owned one (?) Just to name one of the inconsistencies modelled in the XP version, a huge pitching up from flap deployment is notorious, while the MFS version reproduces, according to …
