December 31, 20232 yr Aside from others already mentioned, I'm (im)patiently awaiting the Hot Start TBM. Meanwhile, AFL K350 is great. I bought my first AoA Sims addon, the T-6A Texan II. Think of it as a turboprop P-51 and you're not far off. It continues to grow on me. Also "pending" FJS 727 v4. My UAL Captain dad's favorite work plane. X-Trident AB 412 and CH-47 Chinook. Faster and smoother than any Cessna/Piper piston😉 ETA: XP v12 defaults are (almost) all Payware Grade. Well worth the time, esp if REP pack is added. Edited January 1, 20242 yr by UrgentSiesta More

The also free, beautifully modeled CVN-74 USS John C Stennis or $0.00 CV-59 USS Forrestal await all your "Nugget" SNFO dreams 🙂 When that becomes too easy, HeatBlur F-14 boat ops and DCS SuperCarrier will serve you a large piece of Humble Pie. 😁 Too much fun to miss out. 👍 X-Plane carrier ops is an exercise in frustration.
January 1, 20242 yr Better still...download Falcon BMS 4.37..... also free and non Russian. Continuously updated and about to receive significant updates to terrain . Learn to fly and fight an F18 off carriers and then (unlike other simulators) get to use that hard earned knowledge in a fully simulated war !

Flying is great... My problem with the LES DC-3 is simple - it's entirely useless for my hardware, which is a laptop with an Airbus sidestick with a single throttle slider. It is literally impossible to taxi without wanting to ragequit and fly something else. The "assists" don't really do anything that meaningful. Either you are going in a straight line or... you are going in a straight line. Any attempts to turn require you to already have some ground speed. Which is difficult to do if you are standing still and require, let's say to do a 180 turn right away. You are just not gonna be able to do it without running into buildings, etc... The reason VSkyLabs wipes the floor with it is that I can press that fictional button on the panel that allows me to turn/taxi using rudder joystick twist. That is IT. I was thinking about keeping the aircraft installed just because visually, it's a marvel and it flies well, but what's the point when I will never want to fly it cause I can't get it to the runway? Every time, the VSkyLabs one will win, cause I can get to where I need to be. If you are ever willing/able to fix the taxiing issue (which requires a will to sacrifice realism for the sake of simming cause I am too mobile and it's impractical for me to have a desktop PC and I require a joystick that I can use without rudder pedals so that I can take my laptop with me to hotels/cities, etc...), then I will gladly reinstall and would be able to use it. Until that time, unfortunately, it was a purchase that lasted all of a week or so with only 1 full flight completed. Sorry, I am just being honest as to my reasons why I was so disappointed. I bought the first version of the LES DC-3, for XP9 ifI correctly recall (?... maybe it was only by XP10 ? ), but when it was released recently I had already spent a bunch in Airlinetools FlightDeck A32x and wasn't ready to purchase it 😕 but while I feel for you at the same time reading about the reasons that make this aircraft kind of useless for you just made me want even more to buy it as soon as I can start reinvesting in X-Plane 🙂 It's indeed so different to taxi a DC-3 in XP compared to any of it's versions available for MFS, because ground physics shine in XP compared to MFS... I have the VSL DC-3 but I don't like the way it flies... rather strange in yaw stability .... Have a GREAT 2024 !!! January 1, 20242 yr re:JRollon Marchetti SF260 Thanks for the tips on the sale - very good price. Note: On download the "liveries" folder was defective and unusable. However, when updating with the Skunkcraft program the liveries came through. Happy New Year to all. Jim Morgan

I think the cost of entry is MUCH higher - like $8.00 for the base Falcon game 😁 Much respect to the BMS team and the incredible work they've done. 🙂 p.s.: couldn't care less what country the devs happened to be born in.
January 4, 20242 yr Ha Ha, I’ve had a copy of falcon in one form or another (continuous playing since FalconAT) that I completely forgot you need to have the Falcon 4 exe. file ( and only that file) on your computer to use BMS. I think you can “obtain” that file off the internet but never needed to for the above reasons. I didn’t give a dam about where the devs were born up until recently. Then a delusional sociopath decided to re-create World War 1 a couple of hundred miles from where I live. In just under 24 months approx 500,000 souls (both sides included) have been prematurely and violently taken. To be accurate it’s not where the devs were born but the regime under which the company they work for operates. The devs may have views on the matter one way or the other but haven’t voiced them. Given they not only work under that regime they also live under that regime...... I don’t blame them.
