  1. <Smartass mode on>: since X-Plane 9 😛 ... ... and X-Plane 10 (with bridges 😛) In the next-next-next-gen scenery I expect drinking a beer 🍺 in that bar (at 0:33) - of course only after the flight 😄.
  2. Now ... that's what I call (revolutionary 😛) realism, visually and physically:
  3. As far as I remember it won't be by calculating every single light in the city (way too much computing effort), but using something like lightpollutionmap.
  4. ... but I assume not as many as x-plane.org (not affiliated with x-plane.com, i.e. LR). Loooots of freeware, be it planes, scenery (mine too, BTW 😉), plugins, ...
  5. Or on a different scale at a different time: “How much is 5*82?” “425.” "Wrong." "No, right because the calculator gave me the result." "What do you get when you calculate it in your head?" "I'm not able to do that." "Ok, then please type it into the calculator four more times and see how often you get 425. Most probably you will get 4 times 410 as result - because you mistyped the first time, but were unable to question that." If the four additional rolls produce four different results, then you have a bigger problem, of course. 😄 P.S. Of course I know that we are deviating (a bit) from the original topic - but as long as it stays civil ...
  6. It depends on the AI and especially the data it was trained on. The best AI algorithm can't give you the desired result, because ... I installed Stable Diffusion (for generating pictures) locally and its manual said, not literally but in essence: "If the model is trained with cat content and you ask it something about dogs - expect the unexpected" 😄 (the part about cats and dogs is actually written that way, but I rephrased the second part of the sentence a little for dramaturgical reasons). * Cat content = sweet 😻
  7. True! Just recently I asked (for my job) a question where I wasn't 100% sure about the correct answer. (In that case not Copilot but) ChatGPT responded like "You have to check the datasheets of the respective equipment and please look also into the respective norms." Wow!!! That's something I never expected 😂. At least when the question is quite specialized and "narrow", you won't get good (and safe) answers. If you ask, e.g. "What is McDonalds?" you will probably get good answers as there is much data available about that matter. But still, some information bits can be wrong. Is that common sense? I think so ... Or should I ask ChatGPT? 😉
  8. TheFlyingScotsman, the creator of the video from my first post, always manages to fly in interesting and spectacular weather conditions.
  9. 😂 It's like people who are constantly tweaking their car and say ‘that's where the fun is’. Would they drive it around - ‘Oh God no, the fun is in the constant optimisation’. Exactly this ...
  10. It's some time ago, when similar discussions came up and I responded as following:
  11. Might be ... but I'm not sure about that. Autoortho/ME first have to download the textures from the net (for first time use - cache aside?), convert them and only then can display them - I have read, around 5 minutes or longer? That's the reason why I don't use them. Ortho4XP OTOH at least is stored locally. And, I want the buildings to fit onto the orthos, thus I use also X-World. I mean, either X-World and orthos (independant which solution) OR default textures and default scenery give the 'best' result in regard to fitting to each other.
  12. Ortho4XP and X-World. However, Ortho4XP only for some known regions, outside of them default textures. I want (primarily) fast loading times, not to waiting 'forever' 😉 for loading textures with ME and/or Autoortho.
  13. The first time I was in the MD11 sim (2011) I remember that in EDDF the scenery was (almost) flat, only a few cars were driving along the Autobahn near the airport and very few high rise buildings were visible in the CBD. Then I wanted to land in GCXO but as that airport wasn't part of the LH MD11 network, the instructor gave me GCTS. The Teide was not (much) more than a triangle with textures. I asked for a refund, due to the bad scenery 🤣. The second time in the MD11 there was a kind of funny occurrence. There were 2 other participants like me sharing the cockpit for 20/20/20 mins. The instructor searched for a certain function in the cockpit buttons, but didn't find it immediately (he was actually an Airbus pilot). One of the other participants proudly showed him without searching which button to press. Explanation: he was an PMDG MD11 user. Then, it was his turn to land the plane - the first attempt went badly wrong, near the rwy and the instructor had to cancel the landing. The second attempt was better and the third one acceptable. Later, in the B737 sim I was also in LPMA, LOWI and some other challenging airports. It was a lot of fun. For Simheaven I can say that IIRC, some years ago, Armin* did (partly) every 6 months a new version. Meanwhile, the latest version is from 2023, probably he hasn't so much time anymore. * He lives around 20 km away from me, so that I know him personally and that's the reason why I helped him (among others) with some buildings for X-America. Apart from that, the vehicles and trains which I created more than 10 years ago are meanwhile part of X-World, so nobody has to download my libraries separately. I met him around 10 years ago at his local airfield, where several users of the German Aerosft forum met, among them also Andras Fabian (for the ones who don't know him - he was one of the 'scenery gurus' for LR back then). Andras also lived/lives around 20 km from my home.
  14. THAT is a really good reason, but to judge a 5-minute delay as ‘indisputable’ in view of the numerous parameters that play a role in such a flight says a lot about the (non-existent) technical understanding of that mentioned guy.
