As a long time FSX/P3D user i also like to keep an eye on the other sims. I bought Xplane 12 fairly recently and it looks amazing! so I've managed to download the Level up 737-800NG (I still can't get my head around the fact that its free!) now all i need to do is learn how to fly it. Can anyone recommend any good tutorials that i can get started with. I'm still fairly new to tubeliners having flown the QW757 in FSX/P3D and have never flown any PMDG aircraft so I am not sure where to start. Any advice would greatly be appreciated as i take my first steps in the world of Xplane Kind regards Daz

No, of course it's not a parody that XP 12 is the best simulator to - e.g. visit the Maldives 😉. The parody is aimed at something else. I'm bolding it here so that everyone really gets it and understands it 😄 .

I changed my lateral field of view to 72 degrees because I think thats what is was previously. I seem to remember that my lateral and vertical offset adjustments on the right of the screen were also different from the default 0.00. I think I adjusted them because of a Russ Barlow video I saw but I dont remember which one if any. I only use 1 32 inch monitor. Should I adjust those other settings also??

I'm pestering everyone on other forums with my problem, so I'll try here too 😉... I have a new computer (9800x3d; RTX4070TI Super(16GB); 64RAM) and a new Quest 3. I've been struggling for 2 months without success. The problem concerns the ASW settings. When I have ASW on, the image is sharp, the simulation is smooth, but in a clear sky (or water) disgusting flashing artifacts appear. When I turn ASW off, the simulation is still smooth, but then with every slightest movement of the plane, a disgusting ghosting effect (blurring of the scenery) appears. I use a cable connection and the bandwidth test is OK (2.6-3.1). I also tried via Airlink in the Oculus…

Cannot log into X Plane 12. It shows my correct serial number but says that it is for a different copy of X Plane.

Hey guys I want to try XP12, but hoping to make it look as good as possible. What are the key add-ons I need to get a decent impression of this sim? I would rather not spend money just yet, at least until I evaluate it.

I upgraded to 12. Unbelievably slow download. I had to mess with it for an hour to find the executable app. I have tried 2 planes ,the RV 10 and the Baron 58. They are NOTHing like the versions in X 11.The ones in 11 were MUCH better. I am getting all kinds of weird shaking in the controls and the visuals are terrible. I cant even see the panel clearly. The rudders are way different. Has anyone run into this with 12? The RV 12 in 11 that was free was way better, this one sucks. Total regret so far..

So I was playing a bit in Photoshop, wanted to modify original Toliss A319 cockpit textures, and made them to look used. And, to actually look that is used a lot.🙂 I think they look nice, at least for me. The plan is to make two versions - brighter, for all that don't like dark cockpits, and original brightness. Will probably upload it at .ORG soon. NOTE: it's tested in both XP11 and XP12. Probably will work also in A320/321. (Ignore the Vueling logo, it is for my personal needs. It will be removed.)

Been thinking of purchasing X-Plane 12 since I have 11. However, I wonder if it would heat up my computer like the 'other sim', I have an i9 10th gen processor with a 3070 and only use a 1080P monitor. Flying during the day right now heats up the room something fierce and I was hoping this one may not do that. Another question, is a navigraph sub needed for navdata? And lastly, are there any quality free study level airliners out there for xplane? Thanks in advance for any info you guys can give. It's much appreciated.

XP 11 One of my buttons on my throttle base is set to saved view no. 6. I dont know how it got like that but its useful there. What it really does is switch between the last 2 views you manually set in the cockpit. Its a good feature and useful but I didnt set it to do that....As I try to master all the settings controls in X 11 ,I cant help but wonder why it does that? Like I said it is set in the menu to saved 3d no.6. what is going on with that? Normally when you set a view you just get 1 view..

Trying to remove wing / wingtip vapour effects from the default F14. Every time it manoeuvres it turns into a fast moving cumulus cloud and even straight and level it looks like it is continually dumping fuel. Does anyone know how to suppress or delete the wingtip contrail/vortex, wing condensation particles in the aircraft system.pss file ? Is this the most efficient way of achieving the desired result ? I hope Win WIng follows this forum.....the big bulbous throttle handles that come with the Orion 2 throttle..are too big and we dont need so many buttons...give us a slimmed down handle.split, and leave out some of the buttons. and make it cheap so we can buy it.Between the Orion and the WinWing stick I only use about 20% of all the assignable buttons and levers.The throttle base would be much better if they included 4 axis levers and did away with 50% of the buttons..

Before starting to use "Map Enhancement Pro" I used "Auto-Ortho" and even a few years ago "Ortho4XP". With "Map Enhancement Pro" (MEPro) I get a welcome flattening effect at some airports that were rather exagerated in their "bump effects", but it's overall way too flat now 😞 LPPT 03/20 has a bump which is very evident when you're at the threshold of either runway. LPMA too, and zillions of other airports in their taxiways and runways... but now they all look flat with MEPro 😕 What alternative (to default and MEPro) meshes could be used? Ortho4XP is probably my only solution because it allows me to select specific meshes to build the ortho secnery, ri…

I am on an M1 Mac. When I get a view I like it should save with ctrl num.....why does it not save some views??it saves a few only..should I use command num...?

Hey, I am having trouble with my autogate. I did a fresh intsall into my X plane 12 plugins folder. But am not seeing it on the drop down menu or plugin admin. I made sure I fully unzipped the file and only put the correct full complete file into my plugin folder. I never had isssues with it in X-Plane 11. If anyone can help that would be great thanks!

Yesterday I had seen the new Brazil WU for FS 2024, but I am in my Xp12 phase of the uninstaller cycle, so, I loaded Xp12 with Map Enhancement Pro, default scenery set to one dot from Extreme, the free ITC lighting mod, default weather (reverted from xEviro and ASXP12 to default only and it's great even at it's present state), picked the defaut C172 and took off from SBGR and went flying around the area. I ahd to these JustFlight Traffic Global, which further enhances the overll experience. For ATC I am presently using only default Xp12 ATC - good enough for the kind of simulated flights I do in Xp12! Lossless gives me a sharp&stable 60 FPS, like never …
