Appart from AutoOrtho and SimHeaven, I don't have any other scenery addons in my XP12.1.3 install. Even without the above mentioned scenery enhancements I had the same problem at some default airports, sometimes to a level that actually impacts on the execution of proper takeoffs and landings, like in LPMA but even at LPPT! The runways sometimes have some really huge bumps / slopes, way more pronnounced than IRL, but worst thant that, some are skewed to one side, like LPPT 03 / 21 where you land and notice by simply looking at the Artificial Horizon or PFD that the aircraft is banked left or right 😕 Is there a simple way to fix it, other than probably buyin…

I pushed the latest Zibo version, after trying to play with the LevelUp and finding out it was just too buggy flight model wise to please me 😕 Since nowadays I usually only play Airbus, I needed to refresh my memory regarding Boeing flows, and my searches in Youtube returned a few Zibo-centred tutorial, one of which I found really good and wanted to share here, but the author, who is now probably an MSFS user too, has many other interesting tutorials. From the "FS 2024 Forum", just in case any of you get the same problem when, after installing the latest version of xEnviro, try to run BeyondATC for FS 2024... Turns out to be due to the fact that when it installs, xEnviro makes changes to the registry records where the Vulkan layer paths are set, and an application which runs in Vulkan, just as Beyond ATC, can be affected 😕 Before I found this, and I have yet to find a way to write a reg file so that I can authomatize the process when running XP12 with xEnviro or FS 2024 + BATC, I started runningBeyondATC using one of the provided batch files, the one that runs it in OpenGL mode. This has always been a major limitation in XP whenever variable winds are reported in a METAR... I've googled this to no avail. I'm currently using the XP12 built in frame rate monitor, and it's ok but it shows a lot more than what I need. All I really want to see in the display is FPS and VRAM usage. I was hoping there would be a small plugin or lua script that would provide this, similar to how P3Dv5 displays it. Does anyone know if this is possible. All I need to se is for example, FPS = 30 VRAM = 6 mb.

Just that, an EXCLAMATION of SATISFACTION !!! I finally got back the "feel of flight" and the weather effects and rendering, scenery and smoothness I wanted to experience. I can still experiment some quirks, yes, like some stutters that I never experience in FS 2024, but heck, the colours, the lighting, specially at dusk / nigh / dawn are so good and true to real, and the "feel of flight" so 2nd to no other sim, that I am about to enter 2025 as happy and overwhelmed as I didn't expect I would, flight simulation wise, just a month ago... XP12 is in a different league !!! 😍

I've made various New Year's Resolutions over the past few days that I'm trying to stick to in order to improve my quality of life or health or whatever. Lose 25 pounds etc. For XP12, it is simply to not do anything to endanger my Frame Time of 0.0333 - which represents my locked 30FPS/half refresh rate of my 60hz 4K TV set. If either my CPU or GPU times exceed this number (usually because I've messed with settings or (more likely) installed a CPU-hogging add on plane), I lose the lovely smoothness. I would like to install XP12 on my laptop. Only one will ever be running at any time. Can it be done by copying my existing XP12 installation onto an external drive then copying that into the drive on my laptop? Thanks.

I'm trying to give a go to the latest beta update of X-Plane 12.1, and tried to find some tutorial showing, for instance, how to fill an IFR flightplan based on a route generated in Simbrief, including the SID and STAR and transitions to approach. Couldn't find one so far 😕 If I cut & paste the route from the Simbrief OFP, it doesn't work and raises a lot of errors / inconsistent waypoints... How do I declare a given departure / arrival ? Any hints, and if possible links, really appreciated !!!

Greetings, I have a pilots license and was wondering how accurate twin engine performance is modeled on xPlane. Specifically at VMC and slower. Most likely real pilots would be best to answer this question especially those with multi engine ratings. Happy New Yearr.

I've been reading you talking a lot lately about Xenviro, what advantages does it have over Xplane's default ?

I made the update yesterday and tried it for a while, including Historic weather. Well impressed so far, both by teh effects I was able top reproduce and the smoothness, with no visible impact in my XP12 install. Only quirk so far has to do with the Toliss 320 N. If I set a weather situation with clouds, I don't see the clouds from withing the cockpit, only in exterior view modes ? If I get into the cockpit there's only a spot near the centre of the front cockpit windows that shows parts of clouds rendered outside ? Any hints ? Thx 🙂
