Hey all, It's time to get another aircraft that is NOT an airliner. Here are the choices that I am considering and my thoughts... Let me know what you think would be the best choice! 1. Thranda PC-12. It looks really good in YouTube videos. I think they put out some good stuff. I DO have a PC-12 by Carenado in MSFS 2024, but I haven't even flown it. Considering the platform and who developed it, I don't think I can hope for good fidelity. Maybe I will give it a spin right now. I think I remember reading it that it doesn't even pressurize correctly. Plus, this one is on sale! 2. Thranda/Just Flight Duchess. I do have a couple of pistons, but that one looks r…

Disregard ! 😕 Problem betwen the Seat and the Keyboard 😆 Purchased this one yesterday, taking advantage of the Easter Sales at the Org, and alreadfy posted at the Support Forum, but maybe any of you have come across the same problem? When I click over the "popable" instruments, like the PFD, MFD, EICAS, EFB... they "don't popup". I can get the popup windows if i use the X-Plane menu for the aircraft, but not using the "mouse left click" method. Any ideas / hints? Thx!

I used XP12 for the first six months after release, but gradually returned to MSFS. However, the images from XP12 beta sure look amazing, so I have installed XP12 again. Was Ortho4xp updated for XP12? Do most now use AutoAutho? Any other must haves that I have missed in the last couple of years?

Of course it's no parody that XP12 is the best civilian desktop simulator for puddles - and additionally XP12.2 the best one for real weather thunderstorm clouds. Screenshot taken from this video:

Since I had purchased MSFS 2024 it became my Go-To sim, with Xp12 being used only for casual flights in the few addon aircraft I own. With the new 12.2 Beta though, and also due to the successive improvements in various aspects of the sim, including the default ATC which is now up to a level which I consider perfectly acceptable for the kind of use I give to it, and with Traffic being injected by JustFlight Traffic Global, the new lighting, clouds and colours, as well as the excellent performance, using presently SimHeaven Europe X-World 3 and default scenery until 12.2 goes final and I start using again "Map Enhancement Pro", X-Plane is the sim I load 80% of my simm…

(posted similar q in MSFS just to keep the fighting dogs separate! 😉 ) See p107 in the survey results. I mainly fly one or two TYPES of aircraft in X-Plane, and at least two other sims. I just can't imagine limiting myself to just one TYPE of aircraft, let alone a single addon! What say you...?

Hi all, In the OrbX Central application, I noticed I had TrueEarth England North and South available for install in the XPlane12 products. I'm considering installing one of them to take a look at these sceneries in their XPlane12 "native" (at least officially) format. But I'm wondering: do I need to install first the corresponding default scenery area from the XPlane Installer app or not ? Currently in my XPlane 12, I think I have only installed the North America West base scenery area, on top of which I have installed the OrbX TrueEarth Washington scenery. That scenery is still for XPlane 11 but it displays reasonnably well in XPlane 12. This limited area is du…

XP's flight model is rather detailled, as we know, and Austin is constantly fine tunning it. Sometimes while trying to make it even more detailled, problems arise, just like the bug with some prop aircraft showing a rolling tendency which is counter-intuitive, and actually against what happens IRL. But there's a reason for everything, and Austin already identified and solved that problem, and an upcoming release of Xp12 will fix it. Meanwhile I found on this recent development video from IL2-Korea an interesting sequence where we can see a diagram of the lift and propwash as modelled in the WW2 prop aircraft, and in the future Korea War jet fighters. I…

I am using X-Pane 12.2B1. I have a new 2025 Mac Studio Sequoia 15.4. I have noticed when I am on the ground the scenery in front of me starts being wavy and flickering especially when I advance the throttle. My connection is ethernet and a steady (ethernet connection) 104MBPS download and 10MBPS upload. I have 261 GBs of available storage. Chip: Apple M4 Max Total Number of Cores: 16 (12 performance and 4 efficiency) Memory: 48 GB Does anyone have any thoughts on what may be causing this? I have played around with the graphics and no matter how high or low it still doesn't solve the issue Is there away to attach a file that's not saved in …

Greetings pilots, the Hotstart Challenger has now fully convinced me, but it is not yet clear which simulator will be the best platform for this (ultimate) masterpiece of a simulated airplane that was ever been developed. The Hotstart Challenger goes beyond the Fenix Airbus, amazing and I always thought the Fenix is the ultimate aircraft simulation. What would you recommend as platform for the Challenger from the perspective of a graphics hound that aims not only for the best simulation but great visuals too, getting an older but fully established platform with full mod-support like XP11 where I can get OrbX scenery, national park and forest enhancements, volume…

In the last couple of days I started playing around with X-Plane 12 again. It had been on hold for a while while testing the INIBUILDS A350 in the cloudy sim. I picked a few airports to make my test flights with the A300-600 and the Beluga I took the opportunity to install using IniManager, and both at LPPT and then at airports I searched for filtering for thunderstorm weather, some with multiple clouds layers, some broken or even OVC I found just a few cumulus when Xp12 downloads real weather, and confirmed through it's weather GUI that indeed the layers downloaded and displayed were made of few Cu s ? Tested at 3 different airports and the same happened. …

Any way to adjust the TrackIR so that your view doesn't hit the floor every time you lean forward to see the gps? I've tried unchecking "True View" in the TIR software but that didnt seem to help this issue. Seems XP12 head tracking is all over the place and not sure what to do about it.

Hi Everybody, Is there an easy way to remove all of the 1400 and 1401 entries from the apt.dat file or do I have to remove them manually? Would be nice if we had a checkbox to turn these on/off! Thanks

Because.... 1) My close vision isn't great these days 🤣; 2) Independently from not seeing that well in terms of close vision, details like how AI aircraft look aren't important to me,,, I am fine with acceptably identifiable liveries on the injected AI Traffic... 3) I was really happy when I reduced my FSLTL AI models to 512 textures instead of the default 4k, and... I decided to apply the "TextureOptimizer" to my JustFlight "WorldTraffic" folder and ... voilà !!! I now have the AI Traffic injected in Xp12 pumping beautifully and the 512 textures even if blurry if I look at them while taxiing, are perfectly acceptable, at least for me... But …

In the cloudy sim I purchased the INIBUILDS A350 recently, and had to reinstall the IniManager app, so, it was time to reinstall 2 of my three purchases (I regret having purchased the A310 which was abandoned as they moved to the clouds....) I actually like the two. OFC I'll have to re-leran how to opperate an A300 and the BELUGA since it's been a long time since I last used either, but they look nice, and a test flight was also a good remind that their feel of flight was not bad at all... I wish the A350 felt the same way in the cloudy sim 🙂
