Frame generation in XP12

Featured Replies

I haven't tried it but it looks very good.

Tried this today and it's witchcraft really. From 40fps all settings maxed out at 4k in ff777v2 to almost 100fps with no visible artifacts. It's that good.

I wonder if Steam has to be started to run it or is there a stand-alone mode?

I read in another forum that this app is not working with Nvidia Gsync VRR, in this case this app won't be useful for me.

Tried it. went from 30 to 60 fps supposedly. But was seeing micro stutters with it on. Seems like a fake FPS counter. Requested a refund.

How? If you think you crank all settings up because of the scaling you are wrong.

Question to all, are you running XP in Windowed or Full Screen Mode?

I didn't crank anything up.

My frame rate is between 45-60 with FSR enabled. And it's fairly smooth depending on altitude, viewpoint, clouds. With the FG hack I was seeing more micro stutters. So that tells me that it's really not working, or that is a fake FPS counter.

FG in only supported in DX11-12 api according to AMD.

First tests indicate a drop in frame rates and bad stuttering, on an Nvidia 3090ti G-Sync enabled, with AMD 7950X3D cpu, 64 GB DDR5, Rog Strix X670E-E mobo and Windows 10. This rig normally runs XP12 at 60-80fps and smoothly. Mind you, I haven't read the Lossless Scaling user manual yet - but it may be just another piece of snake oil.

Below is what it shows as recommended, so this works with XP12 and Vulkan?

RECOMMENDED:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 11 x64
Graphics: GeForce GTX 1060 / Radeon RX 580
DirectX: Version 11

From what I've read, it doesn't work in full screen mode

Windows mode scares me because I use three monitors in full scream mode and I like it that way. I have never tried setting up all three in window mode. I can use Surround mode perhaps, but the result is not the same.

What does this do in VR?

Also still wondering if it is a standalone app or do you have to fire up Steam to use it...

It's a steam app, so steam needs be connected to launch the app.

You can set it to start with Windows and skip the need to start with Steam.

It works in full screen, to make it work better you have to look for a stable refresh rate, I have locked it at 30 fps and it goes up to 60. In no case does it improve the refresh rate if your computer is crawling, don't set the option bars all the way to maximum.
