Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

I am starting to use my X52 flight control system again for my fighter jets and helicopters. I am wondering if anybody has a mapping for helicopters and fighter jets. I have contacted VRS for the bug but I am wondering about other military jets like the T-45 Goshawk. The joystick has the twist for rudder control but I have a saitek pro flight system with the yoke and rudder pedals, etc. So I use the rudder pedals for rudder control. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking to get a panel that allows me control things easier. Mainly looking for something that will allow me to dial in a heading set AP etc. (MCP I guess you could say) It needs to work with the following aircraft as I fly these the most often. ES Citation X V2.0 The PMDG jets. Will also take any suggestions on general good hardware that makes basic flight operations easier. Thanks, Matt

  3. Okay, so everyone says that an iPad is the best for having the FMC on. But, I saw this on VATSIM's Facebook group today: http://www.mimomonitors.com/ These are USB monitors, so they don't use a VGA or DVI slot. Also, they're a lot cheaper than iPads. Yes-go or no-go?

I have a problem that I only seem to have with the PMDG 737 NGX: when I start the plane and haven't touched my toebrakes yet, I can get moving with just a litte throttle (35 or something like that). However, whenever I have used the rudder and the toebrakes and have to stand still and get moving again (for a hold on the ground but also for taxi after landing) I have to give almost full throttle and the plane won't start moving before I hit something like 65! This means I quite often hear that beep during taxi that my throttle is opened to far... What setting should I look at to remedy this? Or should I have asked this in the PMDG 737 NGX forum?

Hi guys, I'm a long-time Saitek yoke user who's been putting off the expensive step up - but the time has come. I've read everything on avsim and the internets twice, including Word Not Allowed's excellent review of his PFC. The three yokes on my list are: PFC cirrus yoke - saab desktop model Pfc saab column yoke ACE 737 column yoke I've been planning on the saab desktop. Some further info: i currently fly the ngx 75% of the time - but plan to do a bit more ga simming too. And the yoke will get heavy T7 use too if course. I use a home cockpit built on a desk. Whilst the mark 2 version will be designed for ngx use, it will be somewhat generic…

Hi, I am new to the forum and just getting back into FSX and its capabilities. I just recently built a new pc to handle FSX and I also purchased the following, PMDG 737ngx, Saitek Pro Flight yoke w/throttle quadrant and I have the Saitek Switch Panel. I have noticed that the a lot of the buttons on the switch panel and throttle quandrant don't seem to work with my PMDG. Through some searching online I found people recommending that you get SPAD. My first question is does SPAD need FSUIPC to work? I would like to figure this out on my old pc before I begin installing stuff on my new pc. I would appreciate any help that you can provide. Thanks, Pete

Well there is a first time for everything. Got a completely rebuilt desktop for Christmas, A 64 bit machine. Loaded everything back into a fresh empty, other than the Win 7 pro OS, with no problems. Fired up FSX, all the service packs are installed, as well as the Accellerator package. The problem; everytime I reboot I loose the CH drivers for the yoke and pedal. I have to recycle them by unpluging and repluging them into the USB ports. One on the PC, the other on a 2.0 USB port. If anyone has some direction they can give me to resolve this, well it would really be appreciated. Here's my specs 3.20 Ghz Intel Core i5-3470 processor Intel Corporation DH77EB MB 1635…

  9. I am going to update my hardware to a yoke, throttle, and pedals from my G940. I fly PMDG and some GA aircraft. I am going to buy the Saitek. Is there a reason to spend more money to get the Cessna Yoke, Throttle, and Combat pedals vs the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke with Three-Lever Throttle (PZ44) for $124.00 and the regular Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals for $98.00 or combination of Saitek Pro Flight Yoke and Combat pedals. I want a good system to fly with. I can afford the more expensive setup, but will it really work any better then the cheaper. Also I wonder about the setup of the Cessna vs the Proflight yoke buttons when setting up FSUIPC assignments with the PMDG 737, …

I recently got a new joystick and it works like any other joystick and throttle... But what I don't understand is that the throttle levers doesn't work in DCS A-10C, but works perfectly fine in FSX... When I try and set it in the Options in DCS, it doesn't even recognize I'm moving the throttles (when I am). It recognizes every other button I press but just not the throttles... Help! Thanks, Andrew

I recently got a Saitek Pro-Flight Cessna Yoke. So far, I'm kind of evaluating it to determine whether its a keeper or it should go back. Initially, in FSX I noticed it was always pulling left. I went to the Controls section of FSX and examined the controllers properties and it showed the cursor was left of center. So, I calibrated it within FSX. Initially, for THAT flight, it didn't make a difference at all. However, once I left FSX back to Windows and then re-started FSX...it seemed like my yoke was properly centered in FSX. Once I was done in FSX, I went back to windows and clicked on the Properties for the Yoke, and examined the axis in Windows 7. The Ro…

  14. Hi guys, Can someone please tell me if having the 90 degree rotation capability in a yoke is important or not? The reason I'm asking is because future shop has the saitek flight pro on sale in Canada, for $119 (that's $70 off of the regular price), but it doesn't have the full range 90 degree movement for left and right aileron deflection. I think that I read somewhere that the saitek Cessna pro does have the extra rotation, but it is also about $220. I'm wondering if the price makes the saitrek flight pro a much better buy , or if it's just not worth it because of the lack of rotation. Thanks for any help, GF

I'm jus trying to figure out just how many folks are experiencing the Joystick disconnect issue with Windows 7 and if so, when did it start. I started having issues in November. I'm trying to figure out whether or not this is an isolated issue or whether a significant number of people are having this issue with 7. I'm tempted just to reinstall windows 7 and FSX without installing any updates to see what happens. Any input would be appreciated.

Hi there folks just thought i would ask around ive had my warthog since september and still havent really got much use out of it as i have a limited amount of time to get on never mind setting it all up. So far i have managed to get all basic functions working such as throttle configured through FSUIPC etc but im needing help especially setting up the Reverse thrust detent on LINDA i have had it set in linda using the fsx reverser tab within the linda interface which technically works when i go over the detent the engines go into reverse but unlike when you press F2 the engines dont spool up into reverse thrust for some reason. i have tried everything but cant see…

Previously I'd been using an old CH Products Flight Yoke I had. It was pretty old and beat up, worked ok, but was a pain to attach to my desk. So for xmas the wife got me the Saitek Cessna Pro-Flight yoke. Its a very nice yoke, has a far superior means of connecting it to my desk which works flawlessly, has a flat top to it so I can even set my keyboard on it, has nice software for programming it, and has a full range of left/right motion. However....it has these really noticeable "detents" in both the elevator travel and aileron travel. As you move the ailerons or elevators through their full range of travel you really notice those detents. In addition, the s…

  19. Hi all, I've been experiencing quite a lot of shimmering in FSX. Over the last weeks I have been searching high and low for solutions and I've probably covered almost topic. Until now I have been able to reduce it somewhat but there was a moment I just accepted it as part of FSX-life ;-) Until yesterday, when I noticed something strange.... When I use TrackIR5 the shimmering is there, but when I pan around with the mouse (using the middle mouse button), the shimmering is practically gone! It's really odd but true! I've only been able to find one topic on this but there wasn't much info there. Anyone experiencing the same thing? Or better, know a solution? …

  21. Hey Word Not Allowed and other AVSIM members: I just got my Logitech G13 keypad today - and quickly wanted to ask you do you use FSUIPC to assign key programming for the G13, or the Logitech Software? I particularly want to use the G13 to control EZDok so I can have a LOT of different camera views, plus use the mini- D Pad/Joystick on the G13 to do fast zooming and panning as you have written here before. Someone else said it can be setup to be a nosewheel tiller controller, but I think the fast zooming and panning in EZDok is much more important. Any tips on setting up to do all of that would be VERY appreciated, thank you in advance! I know "LINDA" can …

  22. I have the saitek multi panel with fsx on win 8 x64.. it works fairly well.. except it seems to me it takes quite a bit of "spinning" to get the trim on the aircraft (c172) to adjust.. i'm not sure if its like this in real life or if its just a sensitivity thing? Does anyone know how it compares with real trim wheels, out of the box? Should I consider installing SPAD (would that allow greater sensitivity)? Thanks in advance

I've had the Precision flight control yoke and quadrent for about 10 years now . Never had any problems, just a couple times the springs broke along the way they sent me new ones i put them in and all was good. But yesterday i came home from being away for 2 weeks working, turned on the sim and the Yoke won't work , in fact it wont even show up in the sim if you want to calibrate it . It's not even there but my Saitek rudder pedals are but not the yoke. In the PFC set up in FSx when you go to ADDONS i done a check on start up it says every thing is OK . . I unplugged and plugged the USB back in and says it doesnt reconize it. Totally lost on what the heck happened.

Hello all! I'm using the Logitech Attack 3 joystick and I was wondering if I can tune / calibrate that tiny piece of throttle on the joystick to be able to activate the reverse thrust when I pull the throttle all the way back? E.g: Close (-) Full (+) -----------|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| Reverse| 0% <-- Regular Thrust --> 100% | Thrust | 0% <-- Regular Thrust --> 100% | Is it possible for this setting to be done on my Attack 3? Rather than using a push button I can use the "throttle" to engage my reversers.

  25. Hi guys! I am looking to buy an extra joystick for flying fighter jets. I already have a pro flight yoke with extra throttles and switch panel and pedals. Next to this, I have a VERY old thrustmaster joystick, from which I think is called "USB Game Joystick". I am looking to replace it for flying fighter jets. I am willing to buy something expensive such as the X-65f, but is it worth buying, or should I go for the X52 or X52 pro. Or maybe with the HOTAS Warthog? Which would you prefer? (If a make any purchase, should I buy the combat rudder pedals to replace my current standard rudder pedals?) I guess the question is, which should I buy and should I buy rudder ped…
