Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. Hello guys: I got the "flight simulator center" Throttle quadrant and is having a strange behaviour, this have happened from one day to another(the system was working great), when you move the throttle levers (its happening just for in left lever) forward to increase the acceleration on the aicraft what you see in the N1 indicator is that when you reach 60 or 65% of the N1 indicator it rapidly comes down to 40% , like if you would have moved the lever to that position, then if you speed up a little bit the n1 indicator comes to the real value where the level is, but is not just the way its showed , the sim really get the signal that you moved the lever down, im working w…

I have FSX running on a Win 8 (64bit) Dell XPS 8500. I have CH Yoke, Throttle Quad and Pro Pedals installed. I first allowed FSX to detect the CH products. All the equipment worked as advertized, EXCEPT for the first Throttle Quad lever. Inputs from that lever jumped around to the point that whatever Sim AC lever assigned also jumped back and forth. For instance, I usually assign the first two levers as prop controls on a DC-3. The left prop control would not stay still if the lever was in full retard position. I tried calibrating the levers thru FSX but the first lever continued jumping around when in full retard position. I then tried to calibrate everything thr…

  3. Hi everyone. I just dropped a bundle on some Saitek equipment and nothing works (sort of). What I mean is that individually everything works fine, but when I try them all together everything gets glitchy. I.e. throttles change the view, AP switches on and off IAS just goes to red line and plane falls out of the sky, rudders disengage the yoke and so on and so on. I am not a hard core sim pilot but just thought I would add some realism to my hobby. I cannot for the life of me figure this out as I thought that they would all work together out of the box. Can anybody point me in the right direction to program all of these units as I am about to give up and throw it all o…

  4. Hi guys, I am trying to buy some pedals, I was thinkin on SAITEK combat pedals but then I found many forums saying that it has a confilct with Warthog Thrustmaster joystick, which I own, the conflict seems to appear with PMDG NGX using warthog and the saitek pedals, any have any experiewnce to confirm this? if that the case which other rudder pedals will you recommend?

Hey guys, seeing if you could help me out here, first though I wouldn't be surprised if this has been asked before; I did a search but couldn't find the information I needed, so sorry if this is a duplicate. Anyway, today I found a 1995 version of the CH Products Flight Stick at a thrift store for $2, I recognized it immediately since I bought a new Flight Stick only last year. I noticed the game port only had 8 out of 15 pins on it, I didn't make much of it knowing that was common on certain connectors but looking at some pictures I'm not so sure it was original. If the connector turns out to be normal I'm curious about the GP to USB converters, which ones are good, wher…

Can anyone help me get the Saitek Backlit information panel to work with FSX in windows 7? I had to do a complete reinstall of my OS and when I went to reinstall THE BIP panel it wont work with FSX. There was a special process that Saitek walked me through last year to get it work but I've forgotten. With the ST software on the svreen the BIP panel all lights up just fine but, when I run FSX it goes black. I've tried several fixes such as downloading microsoft.net framework 3.5 sp.1 and downloading the latest drivers from Saitek but still no luck. anyone can help?

  7. Hi everyone. I bought me a brand new yoke from Saitek and I was really excited.. After I finshed instaling the drivers and set up all the axis on Fsuipc and noticed that the Yoke was not responding to any of my commands or is show any axis movement on the contol setting on windows. So I did a bit of researched and found out that the Saitek uses alot of power. So I tryed what the Saitek support said what I must do, but my pc still disables the yoke. I then re-install the driver but it didnt fix it yet. My plan is to buy a Y usb ( 2 male ends 1 female end ) which is mostly used for more power. Do you think it will make it work? P.S, IT works for 15 to 20 min but then sudde…

I got FSX acceleration recently. I would like to do carrier ops with the default F/A-18 (later maybe the VRS F/A-18E Superbug) Now, I need a suggestion for a joystick to get started ... under $100 ... maybe a little more?

Hi! Since on my old keyboard two keys don't work anymore, I got myself the Logitech G19. The G-keys are very handy for use with FS2Crew, Pro ATC/X and all that stuff. Setting it up was no problem. Now, I'd like to know if there are any nice applets to show data from FSX on the LCD screen of the G19. From what I've seen here and on the web, there has been a G15/19 applet from a site called the-speedbird.com. Unfortunately, this site is down... Any further suggestions are highly appreciated!

  13. Not being a programmer etc I cant offer much in return for the bits I have downloaded but I hope this idea helps pay back a bit. It is a suggestion for a "hands on" cockpit experience. I have got the saitek pro yoke, rudders, all 4 panels but only got 1 Flight Instrument Panel (which took a lot of time to get working on my PC). I only got the one because of the cost. Here in Aust. the shipping makes them expensive. So what I did was get on the net and purchase a small touch screen monitor direct out of China - http://www.chinavasion.com/china/wholesale/Home_Audio_Video/LCD_Monitors_TV/Touch_Screen_10_Inch-10.4_Inch_Touchscreen_Monitor (they are probably more available in …

Ordered this from Roberto a few months ago with some custom requests and sure enough it showed up exactly as promised last week. Communication was EXCEPTIONAL throughout and I would order from him again in a heart-beat! I think $$$ for $$ this is the best unit out there hands down. One step below the FlightDeck Solutions which is beautiful but significantly more $. That is why I said $ for $ the nicest, not the nicest overall This started out as a standard Throttle 737 V2 throttle. I originally wanted the 767 unit which is a piece of art and all my controls have been custom painted Boeing brown but my issue is the NGX has 9 flap detents where-as the 767 only has…

  15. Hi guys, I'm planning to purchase Saitek x52 Pro, but I'd like to know from owners if is possible to assgin to the slider (see attached picture - circled in red) a regular effort braking (incremental) via FSUIPC. I don't like to brake suddenly in one shot. So I would like to brake smoothly and this is this is the reason why I am asking if it is possible. Theoretically It would be possible if slider is viewed like a normal joystick axis. http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/8443/x52pro3.jpg Someone who own x52 could try it for me? Thank you very much in advance, Riccardo

Hi all, I've been deciding what joystick to purchase, the Logitech Extreme or the Thrustmaster. I like to get your opinions on the joysticks you're currently using. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit operating system, so I'll need to purchase one that's compatible with Windows 7. I'm currently using the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 and it's about 12 or 13 years old. It's not compatible with Windows 7. The joystick works fine with Windows 7 but it will not install its own drivers and therefore I cannot use the programmable features. I have the license version of the FSUIPC program but I'm always having to go back and assign the actions again. Even the actions I've assi…

  18. I've been kind of unsatisfied with the performance of FSX on my laptop, a Dell Latitude D630. :( Since FSX is CPU-dependent, I figured that a CPU swap to a more powerful one could do the trick. I know everyone's saying, "Changing a CPU on a laptop is impossible. It'll make little difference, anyway. Go buy a desktop." But I don't want to hear it. I know a friend who can change the CPU for me if I provided him with a new CPU. All I want to know is if the CPUs listed below would be compatible with my current CPU, an Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 @ 2.4 GHz. Intel Core 2 Duo T9900 @ 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9500 @ 2.6 GHz I've created a reference on the…

  19. I have just purchased one Saitek Instrument Panel (FIP) and done as per instructions. (Installed software prior to plugging in the hardware) It scrolls through the product images but doesnt register with FSX i.e. doesnt display guages, just keeps scrolling product images. I've got Saitek multi, radio and switch panels and have uninstalled all and reinstalled in different order but no luck. I have Windows 7 (x64) and notice the FIP uses DirectOutput in Programs directory for the product images but rest of guages data /folders etc is in Programs x64 directory. Is that normal? Has anyone who has had this issue ( I know some have) worked out how to fix it. I have also downlo…

  20. I am posting here and in the fsuipc forum in the hope that someone might have a solution to this problem. I have a Saitek yoke and attached TQ with 3 levers. The first lever, the one on the left, is no longer being recognized properly by FSX or fsuipc, as I will explain below. First, let me make clear that this axis is recognized in the Windows 7 control panel Devices and Printers. When you go to the Game Controller Settings you see the three axes for the three levers on this TQ. These are labeled Z Axis, X Rotation and Y Rotation. All three vertical graphs show a red bar with full, smooth movement from top to bottom for the three levers. However, the first lever,…

  21. Hello all, I am having a pretty frustrating problem right now. I’ve tried a number of fixes, including updated drivers, a different HUB, and even purchasing the power adapter for the Saitek. But, about 30 minutes into a flight, usually about the time I start my descent, the controller disconnects from the computer, just enough to make FSX stop recognizing it. Any suggestions would be great. Here are a few more details: Windows8 Pro FSX with all available SP’s and updates Latest drivers on all components PMDG and FSX Basic aircraft (Mostly PMDG) Saitek does come back, but only to Windows, not available to FSX without restarting FSX. If anyone suggests using F…
