I'm considering changing my VRinsight MCP for either the Opencockpits Efis+MCP or the Goflight equivalent. I'd be interested in hearing some thoughts, advice and opinions. Thanks fellas...

Hi there! I just got my additional throttle quadrant today to have more axis to control multi engine turboprops with my Proflight Yoke system. I'd like to have the set up like this: TQ1: spoiler axis, engine 1 power axis, engine 2 power axis TQ2: propeller axis, condition lever axis, flap lever So far, everything went pretty flawlessly, it worked out of the box without installing the Saitek driver or software. My problem is, that within FSX's controller calibration, the first two axis of the additional quadrant, are shown as X-/Y- axis, similar to the aileron- and elevator axis of the yoke. So I don't have the values from 0 - X, but some sort of neutral value in t…

  3. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up on something I've been working on for a long time. I've had the dream to design and produce a realistic, affordable, floor mounted stick for several years now. This year I was finally able to do it. All the pieces are in place, and production is currently under-way, so I feel now I can let the cat out of the bag. The first offering is a floor mounted, long throw stick, based on the cyclic from the UH1 Huey. I think the Huey's stick is a good compromise between a helicopter stick and a good general purpose fixed wing stick. Yes, there are collectives, pedals, and throttle in the works... but I just want to get this one out ther…

Hi everyone! Just got my new monster PC 2 days ago and bought the k70 keyboard with it. Everything worked without problems. Last night when I went to bed I pulled the power connected to the psu because there is a green light on my Asus Sabertooth z87 that is always on when the computer got power connected to it. I changed my mind and put the cable back to the psu and switched the power button off instead. However, there was a lightning bolt between the cable and the psu is this normal ? The next day (today) I started the computer and went to the kitchen, when I got back I noticed my h100i was blinking red (warning for overheat) and I restarted the computer. Whe…

I think I,m going to pull the trigger on a PFC Saab yoke . My question is it worth another $150 for hall sensors? Also anyone that has this yoke are you happy with it? I have been flying for years with the x52 pro and recently purchased a saitek Cessna yoke and was disappointed that it was sticky and was hard to land.I,m going to return Cessna yoke. I know its expensive but I love this hobby and willing to invest in it if product is quality. Tom

Hardware gurus, I am having some issues with my Saitek trim wheel. To preface, I run it through FSUIPC. The controller is disabled in FSX. Saitek drivers are installed, but I am not running the Saitek software. Basically, the trim wheel lights up and when the sim is loaded, I generally have to spin the heck out of it to get it to start behaving in the sim. It will continue to function for a few minutes but will then stop functioning again. Again I have to spin the heck out of the wheel, but if I do this when airborne, the trim will go so far out of whack when it reactivates that it will send me instantly skyward. I also had the same issue running the trim wheel…

Hello gents, Recently I've bought the Saitek Trim Wheel and like many others faced the problem with trim position synchronization after AP deactivation. There is no good software solution for this problem as this device report's itself as joystick with the fixed analog axis, even though this axis is actually simulated from a digital encoder. Saitek engineers deserve a bit of damnation for their decision not to output encoder ticks as a couple of joystick buttons along with simulated axis. Here is how the Trim Wheel looks inside: As you can see, it is based on mouse-like sensor system. And the idea of this mod is to convert this trim wheel from joystick axis …

Good day fellas! So I have flown with the Saitek Yoke and Throttle Quadrant setup for the past few years, and there is a glitch/problem that has been plaguing me so much, I need to fix it. Now. Since all of the support hours close early PST, and I live in the west coast, this is where I have to come for answers. So what would happen is, the quadrant sticks (all of them) will be between 0-40 and it would start jumping ALL OVER THE PLACE. This is the pain in the rear when it comes to taxing/approach, cause I would want it at about 25%, and it would jump all over the place and end up at 100% I have all the Saitek drivers installed. So if there is a hardware problem? Do …

Hi all, I'm considering buying Saitek's Pro Flight Yoke System, but I've got a few questions before I make my final decision. I will be mostly flying the PMDG 737, the upcoming PMDG 777 and some single prop GA aircraft. Is it possible to control both engines separately? Does the yoke come with an extra black throttle cap? I'd like to replace the blue cap with a black cap when flying aircraft with 2 engines. And finally I wonder if it is possible to assign 2 functions to 1 lever. Take a look at this picture of the yoke. Is it possible to control the speedbrakes AND the flaps with the red lever? So let's say when the toggle switch is in T5 mode you can control…

This message is for those considering purchasing a Precision Flight Control product. I know that many have had good experiences with this company, I unfortunately have been nothing but frustrated with their poor craftsmanship. I purchased a $875 PFC cirrus jetliner yoke w/hall sensors in April of 2012. In April 2013 one of the buttons on the yoke quit working and the yoke made a persistent popping noise whenever I moved it left and right. After paying $35 for return shipping the yoke was sent off on 16 April, nearly a month and a half later (23 May) I received my yoke back. The button turned out to be a broken wire inside the case which was pressing against the bac…

I posted this same question over in Pete's forum (FSUIPC) ... I need someone to point me in a direction to help me discover more about getting my GoFlight modules to work with 3rd party aircraft (I've been avoiding this, but the time has come). I've heard mentions of using FSUIPC and Lua scripts, GFConfig project magenta, etc. etc. -- What I want to accomplish is to make my GoFlight modules work with various 3rd party Aircraft ... again, clueless so any help (links, point me in a direction) is appreciated in how to get my GoFlight modules to work. I'm a software engineer, so learning Lua or whatever it is I need isn't a problem for me ... I'll make it happen. …

  14. Hi Everyone I have a strange problem with my new Yoke + Throttle. Everything works fine. Until I enter fullscreen or maximalised window. When I do that, the yoke controls freeze and come back to life only when I plug and unplug the yoke and restart FS9. This is also visible in the driver calibration dialog. Windows, Bios, drivers, etc. are up to date. To add to the strange behavior, when I enter another user account on the computer (one that hasn't used FS9) the problems seemed nonexistent at first. I was able to fly for an hour or two. When I was confident the problems were somehow linked to the other account I started to customize the settings on this …

Hi folks, For the last few months I have been getting some serious problems with the saitek yoke and rudder. They seem to uncalibrate themselves every time I switch the damn computer on but sometimes it doesn't happen. it seems to happen all of the time with the majestic q400. Mainly I have problems with the throttle. I like to set one lever for engine one and then the red lever for engine two thrust, but on the majestic this can sometimes mess up so that the aircraft actually goes into reverse instead of just the DISC section when I close the throttles. Yesterday the elevator was snapping up and down - there was no intermediary position except full up or full down. I…

I got a new computer, installed Windows 8 Pro x64, updated it, installed latest drivers from AMD and I was having lots of problems. First, I found that FSX was crashing because of the new 13.9 AMD drivers so I installed the old 13.5 and it doesn't crash anymore. That fixed all crash problems. The other problem is the joystick throttle wasn't working... In the USB Game Controllers panel, everything moves, every joystick button work except the Slider, which is the axis used by the throttle in FSX. I tried it with another joystick and the slider still doesn't move. Then I tried it in another PC which also has a freshly installed Windows 8 and again, no slider. Could…

This fellow has built a race car sim but I can see it easily adapted to flightsim. The integration of his gaming and productivity computing into a functional and organized layout is pretty impressive. I think even my wife might approve of this setup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I09UqMbxog

  19. I know I was and then my son came up with this extremely simple yet super-efficient solution the other day, he said: "Why don't you just get some of that sliding protection rubber net you normally put under your carpets at home to make them stay in place"? So...that's what I did. Found the sliding protection rubber net on IKEA and I got several meters for like $5! I always loved great solutions not setting me back more than a couple of $ Thought I should share this with you guys because I have a feeling I'm not the only one with a pair of pedals sliding over the floor especially after the rubber feet that came with the pedals are getting old. …

I have a problem with the throttle quadrant of my pro flight system. When I plug in the cloche to the USB of my mobo it powers up but the throttle quadrant doesn't. I thought it has been broken but i tried it on my laptop and it works correctly. What do you think is the problem? On my desktop for fsx i have win 7 premium 64bit and on my laptop vista premium 64bit

Hey guys, Got a new Saitek TPM unit. Is it normal for the knobs to be a bit wobbly on these? In particular the throttle knob on mine has a bit more side to side play/wobble than the prop and mixture, and when you go to push or pull the throttle, the knob itself moves about 1/8" or so forward or back on the shaft before the shaft itself starts to move. Just wondering if this typical for these units, or perhaps I need to exchange it. Thanks

  22. I apologize if there is a tread about it but a quick search didn't help me. I have a CH fighterstick and a pro throttle and I would like to have them perfectly calibrated. Unfortunately the original windows software is quite crappy and doesn't really help me calibrating in dead zones and so on. I would like to use FSUIPC but the problem is that PMDG doesn't want to use FSUIPC calibration, is there an alternate program or software to calibrate joysticks? Regards, Manfred

  23. An easy one: I am planning buying this bundle: (Yoke + Pedals + Throttle device). The throttle device has 3 levers: black, blue, red. Can someone tell me if I need another throttle device If I want to use this bundle with a jet liner like 737NGX from PMDG? http://store.gameshark.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=4989&idCategory=173 Thanks in advance Alvaro Escorcia

What options are there for relatively modern/recent Force Feedback joysticks? I'm on my 3rd Microsoft Sidewinder 2, it's all I've ever used in this hobby and it's great. When it works. After Win7 it's an uneven performer and not supported by MS anymore. Seems Force Feedback has become rare, I cant imagine flying without it. Do I have to? Anyone here had it but now manage fine without it? Or is my google-fu weak, and there are still great FF sticks out there?

My Saitek Pro Flight pedals appear to have come to the end of their life, and I'm now looking for a replacement. I'm particularly interested in the Saitek Cessna pedals, but i'd like to hear actual users' experiences. I have a couple questions: 1) Is the movement smooth? The Pro Flight ones were a bit sticky, not enough to prevent me from using them, but annoying nevertheless. 2) Do the pedals have any sideways play? Again, the Pro Flights do, and while it isn't a big problem, it's pissing me off as well. 3) Are they reliable and do the axes stay exactly where you leave them? Also, how are the deadzones? My pedals' rudder axis has a tendency to start drifting to the…
