Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

I notice with Windows 8.1 that my Saitek flight panels will turn on and off when playing other PC games. Is there anyway I can prevent this from happening. I am using SPAD and never noticed them come on during PC games other than FSX. Also I have to start and restart SPAD several times to get the numeral panel to light on the multi-panel. All the controls will work but the numeral screen will not light. Thanks

FSX, Win 7-64, Saitek Proflight yoke and pedals. From working perfectly, toe brakes have started to interfere with yoke. Left brake operates ailerons and right brake elevator. Have re-installed Saitek Drivers, removed and later re-installed Smart Technology app. All works correctly when testing in FSX Controls test, but not when flying. I have uninstalled FSX via Control Panel and re-installed. The only way I can fly is by unplugging pedals. Any ideas, please.

Hello. I have had a problem come up lately. Out of no where. If I were to load the sim, get into an aircraft, then click out of the sim (to play music or start avcars), I would go back to the sim, and it would not detect my controllers. (Saitek x52 pro w/ rudder) Under the control setting, they wouldn't show up. As if they weren't plugged in, but they were. Anyone got an idea on a fix? Thanks. -Valley.

I have FSX installed with the Porflight yoke and pedals and an extra throttle quad. Also have saitek trim wheel. All was working well with basic control setup in fsx.. I usually fly pmdg, majestic dash8 and recently insalled milviz 737. I then decided to attempt disabling controllers in fsx and use fsuipc. Well that was a mistake. Too many problems for me setting up that software. I setup everything back to fsx control but now my throttles dont work properly. When I start to move them from idle a little, the engines rpm jump up about half way. I deleted the fsuipc.dll and reinstalled fsuipc and recalibrated all controllers in fsx/ options/ settings/ controls. Any…

Correction, was released yesterday AMD ATI released the 14.1 beta driver, I'm using without problems in P3D V2. Promises great advantages for newer cards, but does not mention FSX and P3D only other games. My ATI card is a HD6950. João Alfredo

I just recently bought the saitek switch panel and heard that I should use SPAD instead of saitek drivers for my aircraft. it says to uninstall the saitek drivers but I don't see anything to uninstall in my device manager. Just shows saitek magic bus, etc in the drivers page. I have no option to delete them. Anybody else have any success with the switch panel and SPAD? I am trying to get it to work with all my 3rd party aircraft if possible. I tried the Bonanza F33 and some of the switches work right the other you have flick the switch from on to off for it to come one and vice versa. Can anybody help?

Hello everyone. I have a problem what to choose and what wolud be better. Now I have yoke from CH (not Eclipse one) but I'm not esspecialy pleased with it. It's too "light", too sensitive and not accurate (I'm using FSUIPC to control it). Do You think Saitek Pro Flight will be better? (As I see it has metal axis and it might be better to control turning and pitching) I want to use it only with NGX and other few jets. I would be grateful for any Your opinions. Thanks

  9. Hello I am have some issues with my Saitek Cyborg X. I am currently using Windows 8.1 (which I hate). I have an issue - if I minimise my flight sim, maybe to check the weather or activate SmartCARS (when I'm flying for a VA), my controls will no longer work (this is when using default FSX settings - not FSUIPC). I know my controller is still working because I can still change view, which is controlled by EZCA. So for some reason, FSX seems to lose connectivity to my controller. So I'm trying to set my controls using FSUIPC. I have a registered version, but for whatever reason, it will not register any buttons etc. I press a button on my controller but FSUI…

I've just finished building my new Haswell rig. Trying to put things back together. On my previous setup, I had a couple of the buttons on my Logitech M570 thumbball mouse programmed to zoom in and out. I know this was some little app or code that I found somewhere. The Logitech software doesn't work. I've tried searching and can't find it. It's not a big deal but, it sure was handy. Better than the keyboard. Would appreciate any help here. Thanks

I've noticed that whenever anyone asks for advice about setting up controls or assigning controller buttons, the majority of replies seem to advocate using FSUIPC from the outset to configure control hardware. Why not start by troubleshooting what they've done within FSX? Although I have FSUIPC (needed for other reasons), the full version is an expensive option when compared to just using FSX (free). I've got a Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick (definitely the best joystick for FSX), a Saitek throttle quadrant and CH Pro Pedals and they were all set up successfully using just the internal FSX system. None of the controllers took more than a few minutes to set up. I've u…

Hello simmers, So my Logitech 3D Pro recently died after many years of service and I was wondering what I could replace it with. I'm not a hardcore simmer at all so I'm looking for something rather simple that does the job. It can be anything apart from Saitek products because I think they're just ugly Saw the Thrustmaster 16000M which has hall sensors, not sure if it makes a huge difference? So yeah any help is appreciated

Been Googling for a bit and not yet found an answer. Anyone out there running P3D v2.1 *and* the VRInsight GPS *and* on a laptop using a VGA-USB adapter? Failing that, anyone running a USB-VGA adapter with the GPS? I'm running P3Dv2.1 quite adequately on my laptop, but the VGA port is already in use for my external monitor. I'd like to get the GPS, but no VGA port for it. The existing VGA port obscures the DVI port, but I suspect that they couldn't be used at the same time anyway. Thus I'm wondering about a USB-VGA adapter; surely the graphics 'load' / requirements on the GPS can't be that high? Anyone got any direct experience or advice here? Cheers

Hi all. I am a student pilot (GA) and I wanted to practice my landings because I have a very unique problem. I will explain why later, but in order to do this I have purchased the bundle of FSX and Saitek Yoke, Throttle, and rudders. I had NO idea that FSX had been stopped for development, but I do not think I care as long as I can get a reasonable simulation to practice. My computer is very strong on Windows7 64 bit and I had no trouble with the FSX install. But the throttle, yoke and rudders have been a mess! I have them reasonably set up now for most things but I notice things like I tried to make the button 7+8? a rudder trim and it just doesn't seem to …

Looking to get feedback on whether or not I can use the Flight1 Citatuon Mustang, and King Air with my saitek panels. I have all 4 panels (radio, autopilot, multi, and annunciator) as well as one of the multi-function units that I use usually with an HSI showing. I use SPAD drivers, not stock saitek. I don't want to 'try this' or 'try that' . I am wondering if they work together out-of-the-box or not. If not, no big deal, I won't purchase them. Thanks in advance.

I installed a USB Throttle Quadrant to go with my Saitek Pro Yoke/Throttle for twin engine aircraft. The USB Throttle is activating the "G" key and "S" key when I move two of the levers all the way down. The USB throttle system works number two engine prop, number 1 engine mixture, number 2 engine mixture. Num 1 eng mix trips the "G" landing gear key and num 2 eng mix trips "S" view key. What can I do to fix.

Hi all just wondered if there is a way to do this or not I currently use fsuipc (registered) for setting up my controls I have recently got a Saitek throttle quadrant which has 3 levers However I want to use it with my pmdg 747 but I have a small issue when it comes to reverse thrust. For forward thrust its pretty straight forward in that I use one lever for no 1 and 4 eng and another lever for2 and 3 leaving me the third for spoilers using the axis option The issue comes with reverse thrust which is essentially a button. When I set the reverse part of the throttle the only option I can get is for one engine, I can't set it for two. The way I set my reverse up was e…

  21. Started by zeddock,

I posted this somewhere else and realized I was the only poster in the thread! It may be I am posting too much, but honestly, I am trying to post to help others as much as myself. I did a search for fixing this behavior but the only germane posts had to do with older units and dirty pots. Since this behavior started after one calibration change in particular, I do not think that is the case.... other reasons too. Here is the problem: If untouched, the yoke stability in my virtual cockpit is displayed fine. But any change on left or right aileron creates jitter in the displayed yoke position and aileron position, (as I changed view to outside of plane.)…

Greetings I am looking for a way to increase my available buttons without having to resort to programming keystrokes (CTRL+R, etc). This would ultimately result in clashes with other software and would be very cumbersome to program/update. I currently use LINDA for buttons and FSUIPC for axes. Perhaps we could avoid a debate on the benefits of each. Suffice to say, LINDA has the profiles for most addon aircraft and FSUIPC is....well FSUIPC. It seems the hardware is available, in the form of programmable keyboards/pads, but I don't seem to see any software that can trick windows into seeing the device(s) as game controllers. That would seem to be necessary in orde…

Hi everyone,I just bought a new Saitek ProFlight Multipanel unit and it works okay, but everytime when I restart FXS after the PC has woken up from sleep mode, the LED display does not work. After I unplug the and reconnect back into the USB port (in the PC), it will work. It will also work after I do a PC reboot.I use the lastest driver 4.0.100.1190 and I am running on Win7 (64bit). The Saitek test program works always, even when the LED display is OFF.I hope anyone can help me with this problem. Thank you.Regards,Sunnyc

My Logitech Attack 3 J-UJ18 Joy Stick wouldn't work with M/S Flight, so I got someone to help with this (HP) they sorted it by me letting them get into my computer and doing it them selves (was quicker then me) they said it should be working now, when I tried it did not work, so not wanting to keep them too long on my computer I said I'll try it later and thanked them, later I tried it and nothing at first then going to tutorial on M/S Flight (well I am a novice) I tried first the mission, I was in the air when mission started and I pulled back on joy stick and it started going up, lovely!!!!, I had to close down because nature called and other things no! not that, any wa…
