Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. I am having a problem with FSX in that it will not save any of my joystick settings. If I set up my control axes and buttons they only work with that session of FSX, when I go back to FSX after closing down and running it again everything is lost. I have tried saving the settings file but this does not work either. It seems to save everything else but not controls. Has anyone had this before? Also I have just bought the new X-55 Rhino, and for the life of me I can't get the throttle to idle in any aircraft. Any ideas? Just thought I would add the problem with saving the settings is not linked to the new controller as it happened with my old controller too…

What's the difference between the two sets here apart from the LCD panel on the yoke? In the UK the pricing is all over the shot! Some sites have the Pro Flight cheaper and others the Cessna version cheaper.... Thanks J

  3. Hello everyone, I'm a new addition to this forum and I think I'll be following it up closely. There's some good information to be found in here. After years of using basic Logitech joysticks for flight sims, I've decided to upgrade to a yoke as I very much enjoy flying smaller, one prop aircraft. I've so far failed to find performance comparisons between Saitek Pro Flight and Pro Flight Cessna except the 90 degrees turn the Cessna has. I'm aware there are some extra buttons on the Cessna one too and probably the extra 45 degrees turn is something to consider, but the Pro Flight (with pedals) is about 130 Euros cheaper than Cessna version (with Cessna pedals). (for…

After Froogle recently posted a video about 737 throttle levers for the Saitek throttle quadrants I became very interested. I found some very nice and real looking throttle levers on www.cockpitsimparts.co.uk My question is: Has anybody ever heard of Cockpit Sim Parts? Have you ordered from them? How was your experience with your purchase and products? I want to order the 737 throttle levers they make for the Saitek throttles but I don't want to get burned out of $160. After the recent events with a certain British scam artist that tried to infect our community I am bit cautious of making purchases from lesser known companies. Any feedback will be greatly appr…

  6. I'm well aware how to use two TQ's for a four engine plane but the problem I have is that I'm building a turbo prop Metroliner III and the throttle, prop pitch and mixture handles have taken up all of the available levers. This got me thinking, can I only use two TQ's or can I add an extra for flaps, speedbrakes etc? I'm electronically challenged unfortunately or I'd just build something else but the Saitek solution would be easier. Any thoughts? Railwayz.

Just got an interesting email from Amazon. Had preordered the new Saitek X55 from Amazon last month and just got an email from Amazon this morning, telling me the item is not longer available from the supplier (Saitek?) anymore and my order is being cancelled. I wonder what that is all about?

Is it possible to increase the friction on the Saitek throttle levers? Has anyone done this?

Good morning, I am having an issue with my yoke that I just noticed recently. As I am pulling back on the yoke, there is a dead zone before it actually moves my elevators. Its actually a pretty large dead zone. It is only an issue when I pull back. Pushing forward and turning it works as it should. I checked this in FSUIPC and my Control Panel. Is my yoke dying, or is there a Fix I am missing. Thanks.

I have recently bought the Saitek X-55 and installed the drivers and software from the Saitek website so I have the latest versions. When I check the calibration using the Windows system its confirms that all the extremities and full movement of the X-55 axis is recognised. However when I run FSX, the Throttle and other axis like the Rotary controls are not producing full movement of these controls, if the X-55 throttle is fully at idle the FSX aircraft (any, default and 3rd party) throttle is slightly forward and only comes to the full idle position is if I press F1. Its the same at the other end, full throttle cannot be achieved using the X-55 throttle lever. I h…

My ancient CH Flight Sim Yoke just broke. The post for one of the springs snapped off. Now, should buy the same yoke or the newer Eclipse. There is almost $100 difference. I am more interested in smooth operation than lots of switches. If the Eclipse is smoother then I may spring for the extra $ ???

What a nightmare... went to the toilet on a regional flight, on the Carenado Phenom 100 ( by the way it's an awesome bird to fly ), and took longer than I should, result, my controller went to sleep ( 4 minutes of inactivity ). Glad I wasn't on VATSIM ! Great I thought... How the hec…

  17. Hello, I've been using a trusty wireless Logitech Freedom 2.4 for a long time now, and it's great. I do also have the CH yoke and rudder pedals, but they are uncomfortable and awkward for me to use on my desk setup, plus it's a very big hassle to set them up each time I have to play. The joystick, on the other hand, is much more convenient. Since it's wireless, it will auto disconnect after a minute or two of inactivity, which is no problem. Pressing any button on it will get it to reconnect. However, occaissionaly and unpredictably, my aircraft will spazz the heck out as it disconnects/reconnects. I've had so many otherwise perfect takeoffs and landings ruined be…

  18. Hello guys, I just got the Cessna Saitek pro flight yoke. The right handle of the yoke has two buttons top one is vertical and bottom one horizontal. I noticed that the vertical one is kinda loose and can turn left to become horizontal as well! Is this how it supposed to be or should I return/replace the yoke? Thanks for your input!!!

G'day guys, I have been using my saitek rudder pedals for the past 4.5 years now with no issues. After 2 months off the sim due to school work, I came back to find that my left toe brake would always stick on. What happens is that whenever the rudder axis is in the left half, it causes my left toe brake axis to stick completely on. However, when the rudder is the right half, the left toe brake axis works fine. Why this tells me is that the pot is still working, and it seems like the rudder axis is somehow interfering with the left toe brake axis. Again I'm not completely sure. It was working fine before I had my break. I didn't touch it at all for the 2 mo…

Hiya folks... So, the inner geek in me has been watching some Airbus vid's on the YouBoob, and I saw a pilot using a tiny tiller on the Airbus which looked awesome, and that reminded me of a rather expensive mouse I saw once, and thought "hmmmm, that would be really cool"... So I rushed over here to our fav forum to ask you guys, has anybody ever used a 3Dconnexions mouse with FSX or any other flight sim, and if so, how did you get on with it? For those who have no idea what I'm on about, check these out: http://www.3dconnexion.co.uk Watching the Airbus vid got me thinking how cool one of these would be for tiller steering, and camera controls in flight s…

I'm a sim racer looking to get into sim flying.Ive had a more than a few "all in 1" joysticks over the years now looking to get a yoke and rudder.I'm going to ask a series of questions that I'm sure you've all seen 1000 times so forgive me for that.I do try and search forums but this is a big place and I end up distracted by so many other threads. Currently I have an Obutto Ozone cockpit with 3x24" monitors, shifters, pedals a Fanatec CSW wheel,DSD button box and a SimXperience GS-4 motion seat.My PC is an i7 950 @ 3.07 GHz with 12 GB of ram and an XFI R7970 3GB video card. I'm getting a bit tired of the Saitek throttle quadrants. Pulled one apart the other day and cleaned the pots. Mission accomplished, but what a pain. It's back to brand new, which means that it still has a slight amount of noise, good enough mostly, but not as accurate as I would like for setting power on certain multi-engined planes. So maybe it's time for something new, and I'm looking at the GoFlight TQ6 (non-Adv), the one with 4 throttles. Do owners of this quadrant feel it is worth the money? -Any problems setting it up? -Any issues with FSUIPC? -Is it heavy enough to sit on a surface (like the Warthog throttle) or are mounting screws/brackets mandat…

  24. I bought a new Saitek trim wheel thinking that the old one was trashed because I couldn't adjust it any longer. Unfortunately, the new one is doing exactly the same thing: it won't stay at the setting I calibrated it for. It alway wants to go up to the extreme vertical position. I can manually bring it down with the wheel while flying but the second I take my hand off the wheel it starts to go up again. I have calibrated it both from the starting menu and while in flight with the same results. I installed the new driver that came with the trim wheel. I did a clean re-install of FSX but that didn't help. I am flying the fs Cessna 172. Windows 7-64. Anybody have any id…

Hi all, I reinstalled FSX this weekend and finally got everything set up last night. I have the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke, throttle quadrant, and TPM. On my old install, I had everything set up just fine after changing the sensitivities and null zones; on this install though, I am having some issues with getting the TPM set up. At first it was the mixture; it would jump around in the sim when I moved the plunger, not allowing me to go full rich without it twitching slightly. I managed to get that under control somehow but now the throttle is the problem. I can push the throttle in almost all the way, but with about a half an inch left, the ingame throttle jumps from…
