  1. is there a way to save position and size of guages with multi monitor setup and in FullScreenMode? i know there is a little program that does just that but in WindowMode, i got the program but didnt bother using it since i understood its for windows mode only, but threads were old and conflicting so i'm wondering if there were any new programs/utilieties that can do it? Thanks Andy

  3. Hello all, Currently I'm using 344.75. On the older versions, there was the blue squares problem when tesellation enabled as I remember. And on the later versions ( 347 series guess) the runway lights weren't working on nights. So now, which is the best driver for you right now? Which has lesser problems? Thanks

  5. I haven't flown for a while now but since installing driver 350.12 I fired up my sim just to find that my FSX stutters horribly and I am averaging at 12-13fps in Nv Surround. MSI afterburner shows a GPU usage of max. 40% (I'm using DX10). Does anyone else experience this??

  6. Hi, I have used NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800. The performance was good with fairly high settings and no stutters. My friend gave me a GeForce 9800 GT. Thinking it would be better I uninstalled the Quadro and used Driver Sweeper before changing the cards. I have applied the same settings as before in the nVidia Inspector. I had fsx create the [Display] section in the fsx.cfg and deleted the old entry. I applied all tweaks as before. Now fps dropped from 25 to 7! Playing with detail settings and tweaks did not get the performance up. For space reasons I had to install the card in the second PCI-E slot. Could that be a problem? Maybe I should not use the latest driver…

Hi all, I got a new monitor finally from a full screen to a wide screen. One thing I have noticed is when there is motion I get what seem like really small "pixels" everywhere in the screen until I stop moving around. The monitor I have is an Acer S232HL. I know its an LED monitor so don't know if that comes to play with it, however wonder if anyone knows how to improve the image quality on it. Im on max resolution of 1920 X 1080. Thanks Bill

  8. Hey guys, I have a 4790K 4.4ghz with a 970, BufferPools=0 tweak, when panning I get artifacting and its pretty annoying. I am wondering what I should put down for reject threshold if anything. If I don't move the camera then flying in the VC or Spot is great. As soon as I pan around the airplane its gets really obvious the artifacting is something I would like to eliminate. Surprised the 970 is doing this on a single 1920X1080 display.

  9. Hope someone can help me out. I'm running FSX with SP2 on a Windows 7 machine with five monitors configured as follows: GTX 660 graphics card monitor 1 dvi 1920x1080x32 monitor 2 dvi 1920x1080x32 monitor 3 vga/dvi 1920x1080x32 GT 520 graphics card monitor 4 vga 1024x768x32 monitor 5 hdmi 1920x1080x32 My problem is any time I undock a window and move it to monitor 4 FSX crashes to the desktop. I can move undocked windows to any of the other monitors just fine. I can also move an undocked window to monitor 4 in P3D and it works. In FSX if I try to go full screen with ALT-Enter I get a crash to desktop. Monitor 4 is set to 1024x768x32 in Windows re…

  11. Hello Captains, I'm going to be moving my rig away from the entertainment area where it's been running on a 60" plasma. I love the size, but now I'm craving a wider field of view. I'm thinking about getting an ultra widescreen monitor (the one from LG) or use 3 monitors. So far I'm leaning towards the ultra widescreen because I know the vertical borders from using 3 screens will drive me nuts. My questions is, how much performance will I lose on average if I went with ultra wide or 3 monitors? The ultra wide is 2560x1080. If I went with 3 screens, it would be 3x 1920x1080. This is for FS9/FSX. Thanks

Hey Guys, I think I found a improved way to run SLI on NV Surround or even 1 Monitor with P3D 2.5. Before there were some line streaks on the sim (with 2.4 etc), but I seem to have eliminated that my from new build/sim. I can't promise anything, but I will be writing about it in few hours. I need to confirm few things. In the mean time, enjoy the pics (AA is disabled, as everything is super sharp already) Pay Attention the GPU usage on the Very Right of the Images Gonna get some sleep before work, Later,

  13. Just compiling a list of components for a new build. It is will be my first dedicated FSX computer. and I've been looking at Graphics Cards and wondering what the benefits of getting a GTX 970 4GB graphics card is over a GT960 2GB graphics card. and whether FSX will make use of the extra 2GB of VRAM and whether the extra 2GB is really worth and extra £100 (or so) Look forward in anticipation to hearing your advice.

Hi, I currently run an i7 3770K (3.5GHz) with a GTX680. I'm getting a pretty solid 30 fps using PMDG 373NG/777 in most circumstances. I also use ORBX Global and regional sceneries with most UK2000 airports and a number of Aerosoft, FSDT and Fly Tampa ones. I'm looking at upgrading my system this year and was wondering if the upgrade from 680 to 970 will get me much benefit? Looking at the specs, it doesn't seem as if there is a great deal between them other than faster/more memory on the 970, plus a slightly faster clock speed. It seems that my current 680 is actually a pretty decent card. Is the 970 a stellar leap or am I mis-understanding things? Any advice…

I'm going to buy a new rig. There was a lot of doubt because I'm (still) a huge old-school fs9 lover. I have so much addons on it, I wont leave my first love. The doubt is gone because my old rig wont accept the new game that crushed Simcity 5: Skylines. Another hobby. The question is about the motherboard but also about the videocard. There are to cards Im looking at: a gtx960 or a gtx970. Whats is in your opinion the best card for fs9? The second question: Im going to buy a i7-4790. Will this one run fs9 smooth enough? (And my fs9 is added with a huge amount of traffic and other addons.)

I set DSR at 4x 33% and launched FSX. In FSX I selected the resolution 3840x2160x32 and wow, what a picture. Unfortunately after exiting FSX and then re-Launching FSX the screen is 1/4th the size in the top left corner. If I select a different resolution and then select 3840x2160x32 all is well again. Is there a way to get that resolution to stick without having to go through some "Dog and Pony Show" each time I start FSX?

I have mind included a copy of my problem at the bottom of this post just on the off chance someone may have encountered this or, if the issue im having will effect which cable to go for and most importantly, if a new cable may resolve the issue. Is anyone else successfully using a 2nd monitor which runs off the same graphics card as the main display? If so, have you had any problems with P3D crashing when running in full-screen mode or windowed mode on the main display?. I'm using the Win+P function in W7 to extend my display to the second monitor so I can move applications onto it and view them without having to dip out of P3D constantly, but P3D is not liking this and it keeps crashing out.

  21. Hi all, My Radeon 6800 series( 1GB) card stopped working. Replaced it with a GTX 960 (2GB) and my FPS have diminished by 1/3. I ran Nvidia inspector for the default FSX tweaks and added a few I found while searching the forum.. I took out my old FSX.cfg and let FSX build a new one and put in the essential Word Not Allowed tweaks. Still, performance is very lacking compared with the older Radeon card that is only 1GB. Frames drop to single digits with approaching payware airports where they used to be around 20 FPS under same circumstances using the Radeon 6800. Can anyone see a potential conflict with this new card and my specs posted below. Nvidia support says my specs …

  22. Hello again all. As the topic says, I have been running FSX SE in 3840x2160 mode, and have been more than pleased with the results. However, after the recent update to FSX SE, I am not getting the same crisp, sharp images that I was before. Below are the display lines from my fsx.cfg file. 24. Hi all I finally got my small second monitor up and running. It's a small Dell E1715S which runs alongside my 40 Phillips 4K. The idea of getting another monitor was to run apps like Avliasoft EFB, VPilot etc on the second monitor and therfore not have to minimise P3D all the time. I've configured the 2nd monitor to run in Extended mode using the Win+P buttons. I then select fullscreen P3D on the main monitor and thats where the problems start. P3D seems to crash everytime i run fullscreen with this configuration. Any ideas why ? Thanks

I'm looking to turn my android tablet into a 3rd monitor for my pc, so I can put my GPS on there. So far I tried iDisplay, but I only get a black screen and I tried Splashtop Extended Display HD, but I cant adjust the resolution and upon switching apps (I use a PDF reader for flightplans and checklists) Splashtop closes and dumps the GPS fullscreen on my main monitor... Does anyone know of a desktop expansion app for android that does work properly? Or can tell me some names of apps I could try? I'm not familiar with names of apps like this and everything I find as 'similar' apps are remote apps and that's not what I'm looking for.
