Hi All, I run P3Dv2 on my system using an AMD HD7870 2GB GPU on a 24" monitor. Ever since I installed it, it's been performing great, giving me ~60 FPS on pretty much any game I throw at it. However, I don't feel that I'm getting the most out of it. What I mean by that is whenever I'm running a graphic-intensive program OTHER than P3D, I can clearly hear my GPU's fans, and they get quite loud as the card heats up. When I run P3D, however, the fans never get as loud as when I run other games, making me think that whenever I run P3D, I'm not getting the most out of my card. I average around 30 FPS in P3D with medium-high to high settings, but I'm feeling like I coul…

hi all purchased a short throw HD 1080P projector a week or so ago, absolutely loving it! no monitor can give you the realism of a screen as big as a projector, I used to use a 27" dell for my instruments, but not any more, just use the whole projector as now i can see the gauges alot more clearer than the old dell s300 projector i had, hear is a youtube video, this video does not give it justice because the orginal has been recorded onto a HD Camera then uploaded (further compressed) into a video editor then further compressed to youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yae2epn0SSM

Hello everyone, My birthday is coming up and I have been saving for a three monitor setup. I currently have on my rig, an Intel i7 4770K @ 4.1, Nvidia GTX 750, 8gb ram, 2tb hard drive 7200rpm. When I first built the rig, custom for fsx, I skimped out major on the gpu to save money, as fsx does not use much of it anyway. However, now I am going to try to use Nvidia Surround for a three monitor setup. What I want to know is, how will the system react to the new hardware? Will I see a major drop in FPS in fsx? WIll other parts of the system react negatively? Also, since I am new to the entire field of three monitor surround, I plan to get the following monitor …

I know this kind of topic is already beaten to death, but... I have this old Radeon 6870HD graphic card which once in a while, when I remember, I always ask myself if this was a smart purchase as I had back then an Intel CPU (a Q9400 I guess) and now I still have an Intel CPU, but a i5 3570k OCed at 4.4GHz. From what I learned from past readings is that FSX likes Intel and Nvidia and one shouldn't do mixes with AMD cpus and gfx cards. If I change to a nvidia card, lets say a GTX 660, 660TI or 760 would I have any real gain in my FSX? <- there are far better cards, I know!! I really don't want to spend too much money with a possible gfx card swap, as the t…

Hello everyone, About 4 years ago I built my own system with an i5 2500k processor (overclocked) and GTX 570 video card. I have been happy with my machine and it runs P3d @ 1920x1200 at a consistent 25-35 FPS with the type of flying that I do and settings on the high end. The reports on Avsim and elsewhere for P3d in 4k look impressive. My issue is that since building my own machine I have been out of touch with technology and therefore I am curious if someone with more technical knowledge would be able to answer the following question pertaining to a potential upgrade: Would I simply be able to replace my older GTX 570 with a newer GTX 9xx (or similar) video card in my…

Hello, Hoping somebody can help before I lose the will to live. I have reciently got 3 Triple monitors for my flight sim experience. I am getting an Average of about 22fps. It gets high FPS everywhere else other than the VC. But none of it is constant. I have it set on Unlimited. I use Eyeinfinity of a Resolution of 5760x1200. My Specs will be below. I run orbx Global and Orbx England, and it looks terrible.. So does REX which is unlike before. I hope somebody can help as there is very little information about AMD around. Its what I have and what I was able to get hold off. The Specs are still pretty decent in my opinion. Just wish the game would react fps wise. Anyway …

I have been experiencing problems with the REX water textures in P3D, and someone has posted in my support request thread over on the REX forum that he was having similar issues.....until he installed the latest 347.52 drivers. That being the case, I am thinking about updating my own drivers. What I would like to know is........can I install the new drivers without uninstalling the old ones first? In other words, does the installer recognise that I have an older set of graphics drivers installed, and remove them before installing the new ones?

Anyone ever used a display like this for flight simming? Kind of in the same territory as multi-monitor setups but without bezels and more than one screen to worry about?? I can imagine it would be useful when using VC's, a bit more display real estate to render more of the VC http://accessories.u...k=baynoteSearch

Hi guys, is it possible to have two FSX.EXEs? I want one to launch into DX9, and the other to launch with DX10 keeping all settings that I set for each. Also this will help with Nvidia Inspector, because that way I can have two profiles, so I won't have to manually change the settings each time. Thanks!

Hello, I am considering the new Dell Ultrasharp U2515H 25 inch monitor. This monitor sports a nice 2560x1440 resolution which I hope will give me a nice overall sharpness bump from my current 22 inch 1680x1050. I am wondering if my Evga 660ti 2GB card will be able to handle this resolution without any foreseeable problems. Anyone able to give me some input on this? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, My dad is going through chemo and I'm starting to put together a flight sim rig for him, as that's something he always loved and would be a nice distraction for him! My question has to do with multiple monitors and GPUs in Prepar3d. After perusing the forums, I see that some are connecting multiple monitors to one GPU using nVidia Surround or Eyefinity, ... but with the resulting view either being distorted/stretched on the sides, or being too zoomed in (even with Denali's fix it seems). Alternatively, some are running windowed views (ie. VC on the middle monitor, plus Left Wing plus Right Wing on the side monitors), but with a big drop in FPS (unless runni…

Dear fellow simmers, At the moment im using 1 x old 22" monitor (1280x1024) for my FSX and obviously, when flying (VC), you can barely read the PFD/MFD from there unless you click to pop it open. My question is, if I will buy a new 27" monitor, does it actually make it more readable? Should I go to 1920x1080? Then im not sure how my rig would handle that, as with todays setup i can make 18-26 fps on add-on airport with the T7. I know my current rig lack´s the perfomance, but so far im still quite happy how it performs - given that ofcourse I need to sacrify some of the graphic settings... Anyway, I quess my question is: 1. If I buy new 27" monitor, will i get …

Hi, recently, out of the blue, whenever I use my joystick to pan around the cockpit or external view, it pans extremely sluggish and because of this, stutters. Even though I am getting a clean 30 or 40 fps constantly. It's odd because it literally started to happen when I restarted my sim. If I hold spacebar and move my mouse to pan, everything is smooth and looks great, but obviously I much prefer to use my joystick for the panning as its easy to do while flying. Does anybody know how to fix this? Is it a camera.cfg fix? Something else.... Really hoping for some insight. I've attached a video showing you what I am talking about, its hard to tell from the video, …

With regards to Nvidia drivers, what is the final verdict? I hear a lot of good things about the 337.88 drivers, however, those cannot be installed on the newer cards. So far I have tried all with 4SMAA and 4SGSS in NI: 344.16 - currently using, no shimmering, very rare occasional spiking in heavy clouds/OC when quickly panning w/ TrackIR 344.48 - no shimmering, occasional spiking 344.60 - some shimmer, some spiking in heavy clouds 344.65 - some shimmer, some spiking in heavy clouds 344.75 - no spiking but heavy shimmer/snowy pixellations on surfaces dependent on light reflection and movement 347.09 - ??? no runway lights 347.25 - ??? no runway lights …

Seems that when I fire up FSX, there is NO PLANE in the startup. It's just totally BLACK. However, when I re-install my Nvidia driver, the airplane appears, and I have a normal session with FSX. After I shut down, and restart FSX, the BLACK , blank area appears again. All I have to do to be back flying is REINSTALL my latest video driver. My system is a state of the art Jetline system with a 780ti card. I did call Jetline, and they are researching this problem, but I thought I'd ask the forum tonight to see if anyone else has experienced this. Any ideas what's going on? I would appreciate a hint of what I can do to remedy this. Please help. Stan

Have been trying now for a while to get my 5 monitor set up to work. Running 2x Nvidea 780 cards, a Matrox Triple Head to Go digital edition, but I cannot for the life of me get the two 19" monitors to work no matter what I do..... Have the 3head2go on the first card, and 3 Acer monitors set up on it - this works fine....the two 19" (where I am planning on displaying cockpit instruments) on mated to the second card in the DVI slots (leaving a vacant DVI slot on card one for a touch screen overhead I am waiting on plus the HDMI outputs where I am debating another touchscreen for pedestal/ radios. Tried SLI, no joy... 3d nothing... Disactivate SLI... Nichts......Tried a…

I installed the new EVGA GTX 970 FTX+ last night and installed the newest driver: 347.25 I removed the old driver prior to the swap correctly as I always do. The issue is after loading up an FSX flight, the screen goes black after a minute or so. I did some Googling and it appears to be a driver issue? The screen goes black but FSX is functioning as normal. I get the mouse cursor only. I have tried windowed mode and its the same thing. The only way out of FSX at this point is the do a program shut down from the TM. For those of you that are running a GTX 900 series gpu: What forceware drivers are you using and is there something I am missing here? Is there any…

Hi Guys, I am trying to hit 1920 x 1080 on the HD 7750 with an Acer 20" LED - DVI , somehow if I hit 1920 x 1080 "Input not Supported" now this is funny because on my laptop which has a GT525m I can hit 2560 res. and I am using it in FSx , X plane is a different game where the GPU is concerned. I am done with AMD stuff now. But if someone here can help me out that would be great. The HD 7750 is the desktop and the GT525m is the laptop one. Omega Catalyst 14.12 Need more info please feel free to ask. Thanks
