Hi all I bought s small second monitor to run alongside my 4K Phillips 40'. I primarily want to use it for things like Avliasoft EFB, Vattastic, ASN etc... Anyway, so my videocard is an Asus 970 Strix which has three connection ports - 1 x DP, 1 x HDMI and 1 x DVI/ . My main monitor is running off the DP connection. My 2nd monitor is a Dell E1715S with 1 x VGA port and 1 x DP. I am using the DP connector on my new monitor with a DP/HDMI adaptor going into the videocard. However, the new monitor is not being recognised in W7 or in the Nvidia Control panel. When I turn it on i get a message saying 'no VGA connection found' (or something similar - seem…

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere (is this the right forum?), but I'm getting ready to finally get the TrackIR, and want to find out if buying the headset is a necessity. Right now, it's looking like $190 USD for the set, but $150 for just the sensor. Opinions?

I just updated to the latest NVIDIA drivers. Everything went smoothly. However, when I went into FSX, I had lost DSR. So, I went into the NVIDIA control panel and found that DSR had been turned off. I reset it to 1.50x and 33%, just as before. No problems, the DSR resolution of 2351 x 1323 was created again, which is what I was using in FSX. I then went into FSX and changed to 2351 x 1323, which now appears in the resolution choices. However, when I go into full screen, now all I get is a black screen. It has worked great up until now. Any ideas of what I should try? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi all, My old ADI 6800 series ( 1 GB) graphics card blew up so I replaced it with a GeForce GTX 960. So far the performance and graphics are less than the replacement card. I'm not worried. I just need some help getting it set up properly, specifically understanding the relationship between Nvidia control panel, Nvidia inspector and how to use those tools for getting best performance. Any current links with info or discussion matter that have worked well for others would be great. I just need to get pointed in the right direction with the new card. There's so much out there it's hard to know where to begin. My old ADI card worked great. I tweaked it to take a bit of a l…

Hey guys, I have been using DSR for a while now and I really see its benefit and how clean it can make everything even outside of FSX in other games. Prior my DSR factors were 2, 3, 4x. I primarily used 2x. My monitor is 1920X1080 16:9 aspect. So at 2x my in-game resolution was 3840X2160. This was great and I was a happy guy. I am using an EVGA 780gtx 4gb card. I noticed the problem say a month or so ago, with drivers from 12/14, and now I am using the very latest (GTA5) drivers. My Non-Native DSR resolutions are all off by 1 pixel (Either selecting in-game resolution, or in windows desktop environment) Everything 1920X1080 and DOWN is fine, 1920X1080 and hi…

Good day all. Hope I am in the right place. I have triple monitor set and I use windowed view. I expand the view across all three monitors. The problem is when I open any other programs like EFB, PFPX, ASN etc, while FSX:SE is running, the expanded view across three monitors shrinks to the middle monitor. I have to use maximize button to free the view from the middle screen and expand it back across all three monitors again. Really annoying. It did not happened before. It started after I did clean W7 and FSX:SE reinstall. Latest Nvidia driver installed. Thanks for looking

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone can give me a little advice. I'm looking at upgrading my GPU (currently a GTX 660ti) to something that will improve smoothness in FSX but unsure which to get. I've been a little confused by 'bottlenecks' and if shelling out for a new one would even be worth it??? Any suggestions appreciated Looking at a price range of around £300 but can go a little more if the improvement is worth it. Current Rig SSD: 112GB for Windows SSD: 240GB for FSX CPU: Intel i7 3770k @ 4.4Ghz Ram: 8GB GPU: GTX 660ti Cheers

Hello, I'm quite new with fsx and have problems with my graphics. The card is a GTX 780 and triple screens by matrox TH2Go I've tried all sorts of tricks but I can't figure it out to get the graphics better (especially dark/grey gets this blurry). It's both in windows and when running fsx

Thinking about upgrading my 780 card. But what to do? Not sure i will do it for "just" a 980. But what about the Titan X? That will give me a lot better performance, yes? But then again, 2x970 is cheaper and performs better? But then again... i only have PCI 2.0, so perhaps a bottleneck with 2x970? And IF, i choose a Titan X, should i go 4K Then? Please join with all you input, i can't figure what to do, and keep in mind this is not just for FSX, but also gaming.

Hi everyone I've just bought a small 17 inch montor to use alongside my main 40 inch. Dipping in and out of the main flightsim screen is always a pain so decided to get a small monitor for EFB, moving maps and Vpilot applications. I intend running it off the same graphics card as my 40 inch monitor. Are there any anomalies assosicated with running a second monitor using p3dv2.4? I seem to recall when I tried a second monitor with fsx some two years ago, I had a visual artifact appear in my vc which i couldnt get rid of. When i dumped the 2nd monitor it disappeared. I hope this does not happen in this instance Who else is running a 2nd monitor off the sa…

I am currently flying FS9 on an Acer 20" LCD monitor and I was thinking about upsizing to a 27" monitor. Is there anything I should be aware of before spending my cash? If any of you have any personal recommendations on make and model that would be great too. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi all, I have 3 Asus monitors for my Flight Sim setup - the middle monitor is HDMI and the two side monitors are DVI. During dusk/night flights, I notice that the middle monitor (HDMI) seems to have less contrast than the other two monitors using DVI. Is this just because of the cable types I'm using, or is there something in the monitor settings I can change to get them to all show evenly? As always, your help and feedback is greatly appreciated!

I have two monitors, one at 1920x1080 and the other at 1680x1050. I like to extend the view across both monitors using Nvida Surround which gives me a resolution of 2560x1024. I realise that I am losing some resolution due to the 1680x1050 monitor. Does anyone have an opinion if it would be worth buying another 1920x1080 monitor to match the first? I can get one for $179AU which isn't such a big impost. Also, how do you calculate the combined resolution of spanned monitors? Many thanks for any replies. John

Hello everyone, Currently I have an intel 4770K overclocked to 4.1 with a Nvidia GTX 750. When building this system, I was very concerned with budget, so I skimped on the GPU. I recently learned that this might cause a bottleneck in the system. My question is, how much better performance will I get with an upgraded gpu, and what is the most cost efficient price per performance gain card to get? (preferably another Nvidia card) Thanks in advance, 1251452

I have a 4 month old GTX660 3Gb card I purchased specifically for P3D2.4. I get occasional brief terrain spiking but I can live with that. I installed 2.5 and it was much worse. I did notice that the card is running in the mid 50C range, and low 40s when running FSX. Do I have a bad card?

Currently, I use a Nvidia GTX 650 1GB made by EVGA on my flight simming PC. It's been serving me well, but I feel that it has become a bit of a bottleneck on my system, especially after changing my CPU to a Haswell i5-4690K and my motherboard to a H97M Pro4. I'm thinking about swapping my GTX 650 in the near future, and I'm trying to find the best GPU-CPU pair for my system. Any suggestions from the community? Thanks in advance. (Budget-wise, I'm going for something in the $150-$250 range.)

Hi I like to stretch my view over two monitors. It works fine in DX9, but when I switch to DX10, one of my screens stays black. Does anyone know if Steve's fixer will fix this problem or is there another way to stretch FSX across 2 screens in DX 10 mode. Many thanks John
