I've had my computer setup since 2011, and although it runs FSX reasonably OK, I think it's time for an upgrade. Currently, with my sliders in the mid/mid-low range (except for Global Textures, which is all the way right), I get 28-30 FPS in rural areas (locked at 30 from within FSX), to about 10-15 FPS at big airport using an aircraft of moderate complexity, and even less using a very detailed one. If I upgrade my graphics card from my current GTX 560 Ti to a GTX 960, what kind of performance increase will I see, if any at all? I remember a few weeks ago that this one fellow upgraded his graphics card and saw a dramatic performance increase (don't have time to look for t…

I have just replaced my 12" lilliput With a 21.5" Asus VS229 res.1920x1080 to use as second monitor for my FSTramp map. My No1 moniter is an ASUS VK248H 24" both have the logo HDMI on the front and have the same conectability HDMI/DVI-D/VGA .after I installed the New 21.5" useing DVI-D conecter in the GPU-OUT and Monitor input, I used AMD catalist control manager To detect the new monitor which it did. Restarted the PC but the No2 did not show up with a piture and said it as no signal on HDMI even though it was conected to DVI-D but when I tried to put up Firefox I shot over to the blank screen and so did the curser. After a while I phoned ASUS UK tecnlcal help. I rea…

My neighbour has a similar setup to mine for FSX. I use 2 monitors, one 24" for the instruments, ATC, etc. and a 27" for the main screen. Both are set to HD and picture quality with MS2 sceneries is excellent. My neighbour however decided on a 40" HD TV as the main screen. He also has a Saphire graphic card and HDMI connection to the TV. But the quality of the picture is really poor as if the definition was distinctly lower. The settings for both Display 0 and Display 1 are 1920x1080x32 just like mine. My first thought was a problem with the TV itself but other simulators like Dirt3 show a perfecly clear and crisp picture. Has anybody had a similar problem or have an id…

I just assembled a new PC with the following hardware: Asus Z-97-) Motherboard Intel I7 4790 4.0Ghz CPU 16GB DDR3 Ram and off course SSD, PSu etc Using WIndows 7 Home edition US Is the latest driver from Nvidia (347.52) always the best solution or is an older driver more "stable" for FSX (and X_Plane) Which one do you guys use/recommend and why? I ‘m not sure whether it is hardware or software orientated but I have a query regarding FSX and the number of monitors FSX can ‘drive’ or indeed recognise in relation to ‘undocked screens’. This is my first posting in any forum period so I apologise in advance if all protocols have not been observed. My current system is dedicated to an FSX home-built simulator with a particular focus on the Boeing 737NG. I was using two graphics cards to drive four monitors – One monitor for the main screen (windowed) and the remainder for UNDOCKED screens. In this case, one monitor for PFD & MFD gauges , one monitor for ECAIS & GPS gauges and a smaller touch screen …

The error doesnt cause crash, everything is normal except this interior night lighting, the exterior lights are OK. What it is all about? My video card is old, it only supports dx9/10. Hi, Current Rig is: Samsung 4K 29" Monitor, Zotac GTX980 Video Card, Intel i7-4770K @ 3.50Hz, 16.00GB RAM, MS Windows 8.1, FSX with Acceleration Pack, Current Resolution is 25630 x 1440 59Hz. Recently installed the GTX980 and initially everything was fine. After a few days I noticed that night textures and gone downhill; terrain was beginning to look a bit like blotting paper soaking up and generating patches of mainly purple and green. Clouds had a purple tinge to them. Daytime appears fine. I connected monitor to card using Display Port but am now using HDMI but it doesn't make any difference. I have tried every setting I can think of on the monitor and card includin…

Hi! I got a problem i cant solve. I had an GTX 660 GPU and one day when i turned on my computer, the graphic were very low and the resolution extremly low. So i checked the status in Nvidiainspector and it said that it couldnt find my GPU or anything about the graphic section. So i tried to reinstall my drivers but i got an error while trying to update them. So i thought my GPU was broken so i decided to buy the GTX 970. Got home installed it with the PCI-E power 1x6 pin 1x2 pin. Tighten the screws and checks so everything was tighten and good. Turned on my computer and same problem again. It cannot find my GPU and it says "Windows Basic Driver" in the graphic sectio…

Hi, I'm looking for help solving a problem that I'm having. I've been experiencing black flashing lines on my screen when using Prepar3D v2.5. Those appear no matter what scenery setting I use. I've tried changing the video drivers. My computer has recently been re formatted and re installed so v 2.4 has never been used on this installation but it ran ok prior to the re install. I've also had some problems using FSX-SE. When I end a flight the screen goes totally black instead of returning to the start screen, although the simulator is running behind the black screen because you can hear it if you click on the tabs. Trying to alleviate this problem was the reaso…

I think I have been doing this wrong when setting up NVIDIA Inspector. I go to the drop down menu where FSX is located, make changes if need be and then just press "apply changes". Is this all I have to do? I saw a video on youtube saying you need to "add application to current profile" and then link the fsx.exe file. Is this true, will it not work by just pressing the "apply changes". Thanks!

I'm wondering about that for a while now.. I'm buying GTX 970 graphics card but prices are varying from 350€ to 450€ which is a big difference. But they are all GTX 970 cards, just different manufacturers.. EVGA, ASUS, ZOTAC, MSI, Gigabyte,.. what's up with that? Which one would you recommend?

i have been looking to improve my performance in fsx. So bufferpools = 0 kept coming up. So I run msi afterburner and fsx is using all of my Gtx 460's 1 gb of video memory. I thought that's what the bufferpool tweak does? I also have the pmdg 737. Orbx global. Asn. And was flying around the fsdt klax.

FSX runs great on my system the way it is currently set up, but I haven't updated my Nvidia video card drivers in 2 years. If I update the drivers will I notice any improvement in FPS, or video quality. Is the update really worth risking a perfectly good setup? I'm concerned that I will run into problems after the update. Does anyone have any comments regarding this? Should I do it, or just leave it alone? Is it worth it? Thanks, John

I have a "driver" from LG for my monitor and older 23" LCD. The data I was given was: 22m45.cat 22M45.icm 22M45.inf I have no idea what to do with these ?? DXDIAG does not show any data on the monitor. I have been using it for several years before. I have done power/off/on, different video card, etc. Also, the nVidia driver (different versions) fails to install and stops early in the install process. Have tried various drivers. The system does work but no "advances video and I am using it now at 1600x1200 basic resolution ok.

Although the monitor is awesome, my default colors in P3D seem a little washed out. Does anyone augment the colours/saturation in the sim and if so, how do you do it? Sweet FX enhanced both colour and bloom in FSX and i do miss it somewhat.

Hello everyone, I recently got three cheap monitors and have set them up though nvidia surround. I have turned on wide aspect ration in the fsx.cfg. However, when I go into the sim, the center monitor looks ok, but the left and right monitors have major distortion. They stretch the image out, like a fisheye. When wideaspectratio is turned off, the distortion goes away, but then the sim is too zoomed in and with ezca at most zoomed out, the panel is still to big. My resolution is 5132x900 with bezel correction. How do I get rid of the distortion? Thanks in advance, 1251452 Also, when loading the some 2D panels in the ngx such as the main panel or overhead,…

I'm running triple-screen (nvision), but when I first start a flight and for an indefinite period, any mouse clicks on the screen (eg to program GPS or flick a switch) cause FSX to go black, revert to single screen and pause, which is quite annoying... At some point in the flight that sensitivity goes away and I can click all I like. Any ideas what might be causing this? (P3D works fine...) Cheers Keith

Hi guys, At the minute I have a Gainward GTX660ti 2GB but at the minute while flying the PMDG I can't quite get the smoothness I would like. I have a feeling that it's the GPU that's the main cause as the rest of my rig should be able to handle, I just want my FSX to look beatiful and run smooth as butter (is that too much to ask ) Rig: Intel i7-3770k @ 4.4 125gb SSD (windows 7) 500mb HDD (fsx) Gainward GTX660ti 2gb 8gb ram

Hi All, My system is: ASUS Z87K MOBO i7 4790K at 4 GHz 16 Gb DDR3 at 2667 Hz RAM Crucial 240Gb SSD Radeon R9 295 x2 graphics card 8Gb 3 x BenQ projectors 1280x800 225 Deg cylindrical screen at 225cm radius and 2m high I am running FSX on this computer with my three projectors combined as one using AMD's Eyefinity. I am also using Immersive Calibration Pro and Immersive Display Pro to warp the projected images into the proper 225 Deg projection on the screen. Immersive Calibration Pro produces the required FSX/P3D settings of the views (cameras) needed to produce the 225 Deg curved view and that is a great feature. I am OK with the image I am gett…
