http://wccftech.com/dx12-revealed-compared-dx11/ As you can see by these charts D3D12 should lead to a stutter free experience (especially for those of you working the P3D platform and sticking with it). Note: Now lets see if my "huge" influence (I'm joking here of course) with LM can get them to adopt DX12 as it seems like a perfect fit for the P3D platform. This is probably the most "exciting" news I've seen of recent given I was pretty disappointed with Intel's Broadwell-E and have pushed off a hardware upgrade as I wait for Skylake in late Q3 2015 before making the hardware upgrade. However, I think the DX12 and Skylake combo will put an end to p…

  3. I found something today in my FSX.cfg file I found interesting so I have a question. I run eyefinity with 4 monitors 3 for cockpit and one up top which is unuseable (goes black) during flight unless I run window mode. Now I noticed that the left and right monitors have a skewed view distorted may be a better term everything in those monitors are larger as if the resolution doesnt match the main monitor. here is what I found [DISPLAY.Device.AMD Radeon R9 200 Series.0.0] Mode=1024x768x32 Anisotropic=1 [DISPLAY.Device.AMD Radeon R9 200 Series.0.1] Mode=1280x800x32 Anisotropic=1 [DISPLAY.Device.AMD Radeon R9 200 Series.2] Mode=1024x768x32 Anisotropic=1 [DISPLAY.Device.AM…

Would prefer if I could just get away with an GPU upgrade. My specs; i7 2600k @ 4.8 asus p8p67 pro 3.1 16gb gskill ddr3 1600 1tb seagate barracuda 10krpm geforce 570gtx superclocked 1.2gb So my question is; I want to do an upgrade on my system this winter but I don't want to spend a whole lot of money. I have been considering an 970GTX, but am wondering am I going to be seeing an noticable improvement in FSX if i do so? or am I wasting my money and should be waiting another year for a full system upgrade and hope by then they will release hardware to run FSX the way we all want it to run......

Hi, my first post here...been following this forum for a while as I managed to get a second monitor and cannot get a third for the time being - budget wise!! my question - is there any means you can use a dual monitor setup to stretch the VC between two monitors rather than 3 monitors using NVidia surround or other software....I have seen many posts and photos of three monitor setup but can this be done on just two monitors. anyone having such a dual monitor setup already - how does it change fsx and can you post some pictures of your rig. my system is win7, fsx with acceleration package, i5 4670 o/clocked to 4Ghz, 2GB GTX760 GDDR5 w/cooling, 8Gb RAM. …

  8. i have vsync on windowed mode with the referesh rate 1/2 in nvidia inspector and locked at 30fps in the sim but everytime my frames go to 29fps the screen tearing is still there, it also happens when i look outside of the aircraft while flying and when i am at default airports. I have no idea what the problem is but it could be because of bufferpools but not to sure. Under bufferpools i have BP=0. Specs, i7 4790k @ 4.0ghz, msi gtx 750ti 2gb, 8 gb ram

  9. First off, I will start by saying that if you don not use a NVidia Graphics Card, this thread will have next to no use for you. For those with a NVidia Graphics card, you've probably heard of the following: NVidia Inspector. NVidia Inspector, in general terms, is a tool that allows you to change internal graphics card settings for any program. If you are aware that NVidia Inspector can be used to benefit FSX, then you will likely most benefit from this post. If you have a NVidia Inspector graphics card, but have no idea what NVidia Inspector is, then I suggest you download Inspector via the internet. *DO YOUR RESEARCH before using NVidia Inspector to "twea…

I open this post because after the arrival new PC ( Intel i7-4790K @ 4.4 Ghz + Corsair Hydro H110 - 8 GB DDR 3 Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 2133 Mhz -nVidia ASUS Strix GTX 970 OC edition 4 Gb - Win7 pro 64 bit ) I went from FS9 to P3D . The problem I had already had with FS9 but then with the help of inspector and above all the tricks of the SLI configuration with single board , I had managed to force the parameters of the GPU and eliminate the problem . Now with P3D we go again .... I'm going to tell you which is the annoying problem . The graphics are ok , but when I have a really nice view from the outside of the plane or in VC with zoom reduced , I see the lines , writ…

I just started using an 50inch 1080p tv for fsx. The tv is wired throught a dvi to hdmi 1.4 adapter. My question is about the refresh rate with nvidia's DSR. Does the HDMI 1.4 limitation of 24 fps at 4k still hold when the 4k resolution is only through DSR but the actual tv is just a regular 1080p set?

Im running fsx on a 1080p hdtv using a dvi to hdmi adapter. I want to know if it would be more or less beneficial to run just a straight hdmi connection from the pc to the tv. And what option is best for using nvidia's DSR?

  16. Hi, I just purchased a new gaming rig just to run FSX only and I wanted to purchase a new monitor and was wondering what it the best fit for FSX. I currently have a 19" from my old set up running a 1680x1050 resolution and my card is a new NVIDIA GTX7702GB Superclocked. For some reason it seems that I am missing out with such a small screen I don't want to go higher than 27" since to me that would be an overkill . Any advice or input you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Kindest Regards. F.

  17. Hi, i am planning to go for the 3 monitor setup. i did some tests with two extra old tfts just to ensure i can handle and organise the setup....now my main monitor is an HP LP2475 with a resolution of 1900x1200. The monitors i can readily find locally in 24" size are all 1900x1080....how does this difference impact the setup and should i just search for 1900x1200 only. regards, emann

Hello: I am having trouble installing a GeForce GT730 Video card. I have removed all drivers from my previous video card, installed the card, but when I boot my PC I get the standard Black & White Gateway screen, but windows never boots. . I thought it might have been the card, so I bought a new one, but same result. My system is a Gateway DX4870-UB21P, Intel5; I'm running Win7. If for some reason, this card is incompatible with my system, how do I pick a card I know will run with my system / motherboard? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave

Hi guys I am running an i5-3570K CPU o/c to 4.2GHz. My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti. I am considering updating my video card, either to a GTX 760 or 770, or possibly to a GTX 970 if funds allow me to (I have read good reports about this card). I mainly fly with FSX and sometimes P3D. Would upgrading my card to any of these be beneficial to me? I realise that my FPS would not go up by much, I was just hoping that things would be smoother. I also realise that P3D would benefit from an upgrade. Would any of these cards improve my flying experience? Obviously the more expensive the card, the better the experience. I appreciate any replies. Th…

I'm getting ready to pull the plug on a new GTX 970, but it seems that no matter what manufacturer or model I pick, people are complaining about coil whine. Is it that big a problem and has anyone here, experienced it? At first I thought it must be just a few people, screaming the loudest, but the fact it seems to be spread across a wide variety of manufacturer's has me wondering.

  23. After a Windows 7 self destruct, I got everything set back up. With the new drivers there appeared to be new and better settings, but they produced the same lousy AA. (I fly steam gauges airplanes so this is kind of a big deal.) So I reverted to the standard FSX profile in Control Panel. (Not sure where th at came from, but doesn't seem to be an option to delete it.) Next I went back to NI. Set up a profile, saved, hit "apply" Unchecked AA in FSX. No AA at all. Checked AA, standard FSX lousy AA. Clearly, I have somehow lost the connection between NI settings and FSX and I can't figure out why. It used to be rock solid and crisp. Now my 737-200 panel looks like a …

First of all, hello everyone! I've been following this forum for a long time now, and it solved most of myproblems so far. But now I'm really in need of some advice. Since recently I switched from FSX to Preapr3d v2.4. But (and yes here it is again) I have a serious fps issue. I know there's a trazillion topics about this, I think i've read most of them, but I could not find a real answer to this issue. No matter what I do, the fps is always stuck somewhere between 10 and 15 fps. With all settings maxed out it doesnt make a whole lot of difference, maybe 2 fps or something. The only that helps is switching to external view that gains me about 10 fps. I love flying the PMD…
