Currently I have a GTX770 2gb on my i7 4790k system. I am seeing a good picture but I feel it should be better for what I spent building this system. With REX4, ORBX, ASN and moderate settings I am getting good results but I am seeing a lot of the dreaded black spikes when panning outside etc. and I have read that it is from GPU overload. I am running a 40" led tv, and occasionally a Dell 19" lcd monitor for gauges. I am wondering would I benefit from upgrading to a GTX780 3gb? I could easily sell my 2 month old 770 on ebay for a good return, and spending a little extra money to upgrade to something better isn't an issue if it would be worth it? My main complaint…

Hello to everyone, I use 3 monitors monitors "samsung SyncMaster 214T 21" " with the VGA AMD RADEON 7970 and resolution 4800x1200 while the GPU is a Intel i5 3570K OC at 4,20Ghz.. I get fsx a bit slow on certain scenaries and flying situations but effort it.. At a certain point I got one monitor that does not stay "Lit"...so now it gives me a "black" screen.....I gues the internal video card or similar has broken... The point is....should I buy a used same monitor (altough these are "old" monitors) or change all 3 with new ones??? If I change all 3 with new monitors, will I have emprovement on frame rates in FSX?? If I choose to change the 3 monit…

I'm considering ditching my 3-23 inch screen nVidia Surround setup for P3D and substituting in a 49 or 55 inch Sony 4k monitor. I'd appreciate any thoughts from anyone who's made such a switch, or considered it but decided to stick with 3 monitors. I'd also appreciate some input on the relative merits of the 49 v. the 55 inch size. I plan to look into the 2 sizes tomorrow at Best Buy if they're on display, but some practical input with use in P3D would be most helpful. Thanks, Robert

Hi everybody, I'm trying a 27" Touch screen monitor (Acer T272HL) for my PMDG 777 overhead, and it works great as long as I use touch as a "mouse left click" (fuel pumps, lights, generator sws and so on), but when it comes to use it as "right click" (turn on the APU, Seat belts ON and all the right selection to the various knobs like Demand Hydraulics...) in order to make it work I need to keep it pressed for like 3sec for each selection, which makes the whole experience pointless. Would you have any idea if it was possible to set the "right click" selection different, so that, let's say, if you tap left of the knob the knob goes left, and if you tap to its right it …

Hi, I currently have a geforce 260 GTX in my computer. I bought a GT 640 because it is DX11 compatible so i can try Prepar3d. I didn't want to spend too much money on it because in a year or so i want to buy a new computer. I was wondering if it's strong enough to play prepar3d and if FSX will keep the performance I have with the 260 GTX? And also, will it run X-plane 10 better than my 260? Should I install it or take it back to the store? I hope someone can give me advice on this.

A lot of the info concerning this device is years old on these forums - so my question is today is Matrox TripleHead2Go still a viable option for those wanting to run three monitors? I know the resolution is not as good as an SLI solution, but I wonder if you get the fishbowl stretching perspective issue other had been getting with Nvidia surround? I use an i5 with a Nvidia 275 videocard - sort of older hardware, but all I am interested in these days is small aircraft - no bigger than a Beech King Air and mostly 172s at smaller airports. I use FSX and am just trying to get back into this hobby with the enthusiasm I had in the years 1995 to 2005 and though having a surroun…

Before replacing my two GTX-580s with an ASUS Poseidon 780 I need to get my TH2G working to support the 3 outside view monitors and a 4th for the instrument panel (I can do that now with the 2 580s, but the 780 does not have enough outputs, hence the TH2G) I have been battling the TH2G installation for the past several days. Restored my system to the "pre TH2G" condition via ACRONIS and tried reinstalling numerous times. I always wind up with multiple screens on one monitor which are unreadable. I've searched (google and this forum) for clear instructions on how to install the TH2G, but find mostly very old information that has not helped. I've also been throug…

I'm running 3 monitors for FSX with a Virtual cockpit on each one. I have the default VC view on the center and then a view on each side that has been moved in the appropriate directions so it looks like they are views out the pilots side windows.... I also put some instruments on the side monitors (GPS, overhead). It works great and looks fantastic.... until..... If I go to anything that leaves the flight screens (go to the menu to get your landing ILS info, go to the Virtual Flight Path screen to turn it on, etc) - when I come back out of the menu the scenery is messed up and frozen on my 2 side screens but is fine on my center/primary. The view itself seems fine (i…

Just reading about the new QFHD (4K) display where resolution is a stunning 4096 pixels and I am wondering if it would be worth investing in a display. Currently I am using a 40" Samsung 6000 series and while I do not mind how the sim is displayed I would be happy to improve picture quality. So my question is; would FSX recognize the 4K resolution capability of the display and render graphics any higher than 1080 resolution or would it be a waste of time?

Hey guys, For a while now i had my I5 4670k overclocked to 4.4ghz. I had the voltage at 1.212... For ages i never had one CTD or one BSOD for about 2 months. Then all of a sudden the last few days i have been getting heaps of BSOD. They come at any time. Sometimes when i am setting up the plane, when i begin to taxi. The only other time they happen is when im on approach which is the most annoying! Any one have any ideas why i have gotten them all of a sudden? I live in Brisbane Australia so the weather atm isnt that hot..

Hey everyone, I just got my PC built, and it is rather beastly. I am finally desperate to get on my flight sim. But when I load it up, it only fits on one screen, my primary middle. I have 3 Asus VG248QE models, 2 of them running DVI and the last running displayport to a EVGA GTX 780 dual classified (will be getting a second card in the near future to SLI but for now, without it). I am running Nvidia Surround and set it up properly, It works fine for other games. I also use a program called FSX Booster 2013, it really is a great program that sets up your fsx.cfg nicely. However I think for this it may have made my fsx.cfg broken. I also have UltraMon running.…

I've been using a gtx 570 and want to upgrade to a 760. I notice that the 570 has 2 6 pin power connectors while the 760 has a 6 and an 8. The manual sheds no light on this. My poer supple is a Corsair tx750. Any guidance would be appreciated. Dan Cole

Hi guys and hope u well I have a home cockpit and I use the samsung 46 inch plasma tv as a OVERHEAD panel (I drag the overhead panel of the PMDG-MD11 into it) I connect it to my PC via HDMI (there is no DVI port in it), and I have noticed that the reading and the texts in the oveehead panel are not so clear like in a LCD monitor (I have it as a pedestal screen, its LG 32 LCD tv and its so clear, no blurry and all the texts and shortcuts of the OH panel are readable well). Can anyone help me how I can fix that, I think its FSX bug, really the readings are so hard to read and the shortcuts of the overhead panel is hard to read, I have change the text scaling but …

I sim pretty much exclusively on P3D these days, and am upgrading from a 580GTX with 3GB memory. Is the additional memory (for the 6GB version) worth it for simming? My understanding is that it would be justified if I was running 3 or more monitors (I'm currently running 2 monitors, 1 for simming at 1080p, the other a lower res monitor that I use for nav charts and manuals, etc., however multi-monitor simming is always a possibility I guess). But other than multiple hi-res monitors, is there any advantage to the higher memory version? Thanks, Bruce.

G'day to all. This question has probably been asked and answered a hundred times elsewhere, but I am darned if I can find it in a search. I run three 22" flat panel formatted into one screen set in a semi-circle in front of me, with Saitek instruments, radios panel etc. I am wondering if there is a way of setting the horizon view so that you are able to see "from wing tip to wing tip". I read somewhere that you can't see 180 degrees, but your can set it up to close to that (172 degrees IIRC) My problem is when on downwind leg, you want to see where your runway is, then when you turn base, you want to see your runway out the side to judge the time when to t…
