I updated the driver for my Nvidia card and it appears to have created some problem with Prepar3d V2. Sections of my ground scenery and some cloud renderings (I was flying in Hawaii) were turned into white triangles. Rolling the driver back seemed to have corrected it. Anyone else see this? John

Good Day, My old asus matrix gtx 285 has finally given up after a couple of weeks of massive usage spikes and BS shut downs. I have been offered a new gigabyte gtx 750 oc (N750OC 2GI the one with only 1 fan) at a very good price of EU 107.50. Can anyone comment as to whether this gigabyte card will adequately replace the matrix gtx 285. My system-- P8Z77M-PRO M/B I5 2500K cpu(oc to 4.3) 8gb ram antec kulher Seagate 1tb hdd The system is only used for FS (fsx and fs2004 ) Any advice greatly appreciated Thanks Mike

Hi guys quick question, currently have a 20' monitor running at 60hz. With Nvidia inspector set at half refresh rate I need 30fps in FSX to get smooth visuals. If I upgrade monitors to a 27' running at 120Hz does that mean I need 60 fps for a smooth experience? (Which we know isn't possible). Can anyone attest to how smooth it runs on a larger monitor? Do you still tick half refresh rate in NI? Cheers Steve

Researching all the tech has my head spinning. Maybe someone can help me simplify things a bit. I already have Trackir and like it. I'm currently using FSX with two monitors. Second monitor is just used for radio, Wx Radar, etc. I would like to go to a triple screen setup that spans the entire view. I have NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 card. Also enjoy Rise of Flight and CFS3. Can I add another GTS 250 (maybe SLI) and somehow have my triple screen setup, or must I invest in Triple Head To Go or a newer graphics card that can do three monitors by itself? I just want a better view with the least amount of money and hassle possible. Thanks.

Hello guys! My friend had recently purchased a CDU from Open Cokpits. When we will try to use it... it happens very often that when we will drag CDU screen to another monitor it simply goes black. CDU works like another monitor to the PC so you need to drag the FMC screen there and resize it. But it happens very often to him that when he will put that screen in place with ShiftWindow, it is simply black. When he will drag it back to the main monitor... it is visible again. Do you have any idea how to solve this issue?

Hi Everyone, For a few years now Ive been running FSX at a 1600 x 1200 resolution, and I'm now thinking of upgrading my monitor to a 2560 x 1440 res. 1) Will I see a worthwhile visual improvement in FSX ? 2) Do you think the upgrade will have a dramatic effect on FPS ? 3) Can you give any advice on what I should be looking for in a high res monitor ? My specs are as follows: Intel i7 2600k, 8gb Ram M/b ASUS Sabertooth Nvidia GTX 590 (3gb) PSU: Corsair 1200i Water cooled running: Windows 7 - 64bit, (un-Clocked) @ 3.4 ghz FSX: Pmdg, Level-D, ORBX, FSDT, REX 4, Ultimate Traffic. Many thanks for your help and advice J

I am buying parts for my i7 4790k system today and was wondering should I go for the 2gb or 4gb GTX770? I will be running one 40" Samsung led 1080p tv and possibly a 20" dell lcd monitor for gauges. I may run the second monitor off another computer but can I run it on the 2gb card with the tv? Right now Newegg has a deal that ends today and I can get a EVGA ACX 2gb GTX770 for $299. Thanks

Hi, i7 3770k, 32 gigs ram, 560 GTX ti 1 gig video. Single monitor resolution 1680 x 1050 I'm looking to maximize my xplane experience and wondered would a good step up would be. I might get Prepar3d in the future also.I've searched and read alot of posts, but would appreciate some recommendations. Thanks in advance. I'm guessing 4Gig Vram is more future proof, but what are the specific card recommendations? and what are the most relevant specs? Memory bandwidth, texel rate, pixel rate? I'm willing to go as high as $400, but no more than that. So far I've seen recommendations for a GTX 760 or 770, so something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ…

Hi everyone, I'm an intermediate flight simmer and former radio presenter. I used to have a home studio with 9 x 19'' monitors which I now have spare. All my other kit I've sold and would love to build a home cockpit in it's place. I have two computers (one is a bog standard PC running W7 dual core with 4GB RAM) and another that is a more powerful to run FSX with 8GB RAM again with W7. Both machines have NVIDIA dual output graphic cards. I hope to have 6 monitors for scenery, yes 6! 1 for altimeter and radar, 1 for FMC and Radio and 1 for engine instruments. How am I best to achieve this, if at all? I guess I would need to network the two systems? I usuall…

Hello all. I am about to start building my new flight sim all the way from building a new computer to the cockpit itself. It is going to be something like this: http://hackaday.com/2014/02/06/building-a-cessna-172-simulator/ However, I want to use a 40" led tv to make a large "background" window view over the dash, as well as use a smaller 17" monitor in the cockpit panel itself for a glass cockpit look if possible. This will be the most extensive thing I have ever done with a flight sim I am used to simply using a computer and a monitor. My question is how customizable is the fsx view to where I can make a "background" view on the tv with no cockpit view or …

I run FSX in full screen--on my primary monitor. I installed vPilot (client like FSInn and Squawkbox) and want to display it on the second monitor. I can start vPilot up and slide the window over to the second monitor, but when I start FSX the second monitor goes black and I only get FSX full screen view on the primary monitor. How do I keep the vpilot window open on the second monitor? I run both monitors off the same video card with dedicated DVI connections. I just went to control panel and identified my primary monitor and secondary...extended so I can drag the windows over to the second monitor. Appreciate any assistance. Thanks Rich Perry

Hey guys, I have an i7 2700k OC'd to 4.8Ghz with an EVGA 670 GTX setup with Nvidia Inspector at 8Xs from the PMDG pinned topic. When panning around using BP=0 I get artifacts when panning. As soon as I stop panning everything runs great. Only when panning do I see the issue. I have heard of reject threshold but I am not sure what value to set it to, or what the sweet spot is. Can you guys shed some light on how you come up with a particular value for that, or is my problem elsewhere. Running single 1920X1200 monitor. Full Specs in my profile. Angelo

Hi! Using an i5 2500K oc'd to 4500Mhz and a Nvidia 570 GTX (1300 MB) I wonder which video card might give me the best performance without upgrading the CPU. I'm only using a single monitor @1920x1080 and use all kinds of aircraft (P3D). Do I need (or profit from) more than 3 GB VRAM? Is ATI an option? Thanks for advise!

I'm mainly runnig FSX and using Nvidia Inspector v1.9.6.8. Can I disable the Nvidia Display Driver Service to free up some resources? It's default setting is "automatic" in windows services. If so should I disable it from msconfig or services.msc?

I thought I read these would be available in April? Getting a little "ancy" (is that a word?), waiting for these so I saw at Newegg an EVGA 780 6GB for $570. Anybody using one of these across three displays in P3D (or FSX) and care to comment? Think I should wait? Break down and get the overpriced Titan? Thx, Clutch

I upgraded my GTX570 to a GTX580 Classified Ultra 3GB. Processor is the same, i7 2600K OC'd at 4.3. Well, my frames at the same settings went from 12-18 to 26-35. It's amazingly smooth. That card is a monstrous powerhouse. It runs hot though, what should be the max temp for that card? It reached 85C - my 570 would never pass 70.

Hi All, I am in the process of setting up my simpit in my new house and I have had a chance to play with a spare Samsung 42 inch 1080P TV. I have been using an Asus 27 inch LED monitor before. I am very impressed with the perspective you get with this size monitor. It really does make you feel like you are in a real cockpit. I may have to really think about going with a monitor like this instead of a triple screen setup using 27 inch monitors. I was wondering if anyone is running FSX on a "Sammy" like this and could share the settings for the TV. I just can't seem to get the right balance for colour, sharpness, brightness etc. Would love to hear your experie…

I currently own a GTX 670 and was having problems with low FPS and a lot of stutters. I tried everything to bring back the smoothness but nothing helped. I remember I had upgraded my nvidia drivers to the latest ones because I was running iRacing and was taking a break from FSX. I went ahead and reinstalled the old nvidia drivers version 3.1422 and miraculously I got my smoothness back along with FPS in the 30's. My questions is which nvidia driver version works for you on your GTX 670?
