Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etc

I have my rig set up with 2 EVGA Nvidea 780s (3MB cards) running in SLI. Rig has 5 monitors, 3 x Asus 24 inch for the out-the-cockpit-window view, and two 18" running for the panels. I am trying to get the set up to look similar to a couple of rigs I saw on a flightsim.com multiple monitor thread. How do I configure the out-the-window view? When I try to undock screens, and drag to the monitors, I can't seem to get FSX to permit me to place the instrument panels in the 4th and 5th monitors. I'm offered a computer for a good price and I'm thinking of buying it, but I had a question about the video card. So far I've only worked with Nvidia cards and I see on the forums always talk about Nvidia, but I was wondering if a Radeon is any good. The computer I'm looking at has a Radeon HD7850 with 2GB DDR5, does anyone have experience with this card and how does it perform for flightsim?

My current computer (specs below) I use to fly on Vatsim does a fairly good job with FSX, however I get some artifacts and microstutters from time to time and I was thinking of upgrading my GPU to a GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-4GD GeForce GTX 770 4GB. Will this help with the artifacts and microstutters? Also, I would like to migrate to P3D when the new pilot clients come out. I've currently got my Lenovo I3 laptop hooked up to a 42" Samsung LCD TV (single VGA) and enjoy the experience of flying FSX Acceleration. My friend at work convinced me to upgrade to a gaming desktop so I'm actually zeroing in on a Digital Storm ODE (Better trim) which has a GTX 780 3GB video card. What I'm trying to figure out and been unsuccessful thus far is whether or not I will be able to hook up 3 televisions to this new desktop so I can have an Forward, Left Wing and Right Wing (or simply forward view expanded) to increase my immersion experience when flying. Hi all What is the correct method of installing an updated nVidia driver. I want to update from v331 to 335. When nvidia installs there are a number of features that get installed simulataniously. Do I have to uninstall all of them, clean the registry and remove any residual nVidia folders before doing an upgrade? Thanks eric

Hi, I currently have an iMac with bootcamp running windows (to run FSX) along with a Dell 21.5" monitor either side. They are hooked up by DisplayPort cables and work brilliantly as 3 monitors with my iMac. DELL - IMAC -DELL However, as I'm sure most of you are aware FSX VC doesn't work very well with 3 monitors and the whole undocking is a nightmare. So everyone suggests either DualHead2Go or TripleHead2Go adapters to make it ONE large display/resolution. My question is: Do I need a DualHead2Go or a TripleHead2Go as there will only be TWO external monitors as the 3rd will actually be the iMac itself? I have a GeForce 560 Ti, which used to work perfectly for FSX. However, after a couple of months away, when I try to start FSX, I get the above message. The card still works pefectly for everything else (MS Office, XPlane 10, Skyrim etc). I am using driver 335.23. Does anybody have any ideas what's gone wrong & how to resolve the situation? Thanks.

Hi all, I check the span displays with surround box,then hit config button,on next screen the apply button is greyed out. I set all monitors to same resouloution,and even tryed reinstalling drivers, I am stumped.

Hi All, Currently, I have a GTX470 connected to a TH2GO and 3 x 24" Samsung T240 monitors. I'm considering an upgrade to a 2GB GTX670 as this, as I understand it, supports up to 3 monitors natively. Does this mean I could do away with my TH2GO unit and connect all 3 monitors to the GTX670? TIA DK

I am considering upgrading my GTX680 for a GTX780. I believe this is currently the card to have for FSX running an i7 4770k over clocked lightly. It is the only item from my previous PC that was not upgraded when I built a new machine. Given that this card is not cheap, is this a sensible upgrade and will it produce a noticeable improvement in FSX? I would love to hear from others that may have upgraded this way and those running the GTX780 in general.

Hello I am about to finally upgrade from my current dual core system to a I7 4770K, at the moment I use a Samsung syncmaster 932 monitor, what I would like to do until I upgrade my monitor is be able to connect both PCs to the same monitor. My current setup is connected by the VGA output, can I just connect the new system to the DVI input and switch between the two via the front panel?

Guys i need help!!! I just reformtted and did a clean install of my win 7 64bit and installed the latest dirver from the Nvidia website. My issue is how can i see my taskbar on my monitor as its hidden rite below. Need to press on the Win key on my keyboard to use the programes. The other issue is pls help me with the basic setup of my nvidia page on my graphics settings pls. Im really lost!!! Thanks guys

Hi This may be a real dumb question, but don't want to lay out the cash if it is going to be a problem. On a video for this card they briefly mentioned about the uefi bios that the card should have the latest bios for the mobo. This might be a problem for me as I can't update the bios on my mobo to the latest revision because there are some files that the bios requires that I cant get. Has anyone tried putting a gtx780ti in the Asus p8z68-v/gen3 mobo with the original bios 0301 I think it is thanks

In the past few weeks I seem to be having low memory problems. I am running three monitors on two video cards 780gtx I don't run them as a surround set up just discrete monitors so that i can undock windows and place them on the screens I am running w7 fsx 1,2 qccel 2x780gtx and 32 gb memory 4770k 4.3 overclocked . The video cards are not o/c The problem is that when running certain aircraft. Carenado/PMDG two things happen I start to lose textures ( skeleton aircraft , black un-docked panels . Eventually this stop running. Not sure what is causing this but I have started to experience this and nothing has changed. Any thoughts??? Peter

Hello, After a long break, I have recently started getting back into Flight Simulation and therefore my current PC, although fairly new, was not purchased with FSX in mind. Its specs are as follows: Intel Core i5-3470 @ 3.2GHz (up to 3.6Ghz via TurboBoost) (Ivy Bridge) 8GB RAM Nvidia Geforce GT 610 Windows 8 Performance with this setup is reasonable in most cases with 30+ fps with medium settings and default scenery with the PMDG 737NGX.
