Hi all Hope you're all well. I need some help with my SLI multi-monitor set-up. So some background first, I'm running the following... i5 @ 4.5mhz - very stable 2x gtx670 in SLI 16gb ram 256gb ssd Windows 7 64bit 3 asus 1080 ws monitors I run a dual boot set-up with Win 8 for games and Win 7 for FSX/P3d. SLI is mainly for the games in the Win8 boot, I've never seen a great improvement in FSX with the two cards. When I set the system up as an extended desktop and then run FSX full screen I invariably get a system crash. When I disable SLI and run three independent monitors I don't, but of course I can only run full screen in one monitor. When it cr…

Hi, I've recently replaced my ancient GTX 580 with a new Radeon R290...I've never been a big fan of ATI/AMD and haven't purchased a single one of their GPUs in the last 10 years, but had hoped that this generation would fare better. I know about the problems FSX has with AMD GPUs in general, but did not think it would be this severe. I've spent the last days applying every .cfg tweak known to man, tried all kinds of different Catalyst drivers but cannot wrap my head around this issue. Performance was pretty decent (though not aweseome) running my Nvidia and I had hoped that I could achieve an additional increase...but think again. Complex add-on scenery where I u…

I've explored the SLI technology from Nvidia, but this is not fit to opperate the 2 video cards as I would like to setup in my system. Now I read on several forums that it would be possible to run 2 different video cards on a non-SLI motherboard, as long as they run on the same driver, but I cant find any proper explination on how to do that. What I've done so far is mount both video cards on the motherboard and reinstalled the driver. Both video cards give proper picture, however, when running P3D, which also seems to work as I hoped for, my FPS has lowered, which of course is the opposite of what my intentions are. My setup consists of one monitor to provide me…

Posted Today, 04:24 AM Hi All, I have spent years thinking about upgrading my one 30 inch flight sim monitor into a multi monitor array---and two months ago i took the financial plunge and bought 4 more 30 inchers and a 19 inch monitor and built a hot new computer with all the power and bells and whistles as well as two new Nvidia 760 Video cards with two gig of video on board each card and spent the next 40 days re-doing my office and my garage to handle the new set up---it has been an exausting period and I am really tired---the new set up looks great and my friends and neighbors are impressed with t…

Simmers, I recently began the process of installing applications onto a brand new Acer notebook. Haven't updated my specs yet, but it's an Acer V5 with a Radeon R7 M265 card and running Windows 8.1. I installed FSX, ran it, and it worked fine, including the ability to conduct a test flight. I then installed SP1, SP2, and the PMDG NGX base package onto the system. When I loaded up the sim, and tried again, though a crash occurred. I discovered that to be the uiautomationcore.dll crash, and fixed it, though the next time I tried to click "fly now", I got another crash. Puzzled, I checked, and found it to be the atiumdag dll that was causing the issue. I was running the …

Hi there, After doing a reformat, i accidentally deleted Nvidea inspector. Being stupid i didnt write down the settings that i originally had. When i went back into FSX, my cockpit looks quite Miserable, I have zoom in the flight deck set to 0.95% it seems writing on the panels ect look very hard to read. In FSX I have the global texture resolution set to Very high. Just wondering in the Nvidea inspector for FSX, which setting controls what the flight deck textures look like ? Jack

I am running “FSX Acceleration” in my system seen the details as below. But I don’t know why, my “Average FPS” cannot be more than 10/sec or 15/sec (sometimes average is even decreasing below 10/sec) Mainboard : ASUS P8Z68-V GEN3 CPU : Intel Core i5 2320 @ 3.00GHz (Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology) Graphics : NVidia GeForce GTX 650 (1023MB) NVidia GeForce GTX 560 (1023MB) RAM : 8,00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz Operating System : Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit I’ve read many forums about Tweaking fsx.CFG in FSX. But I could not reach any successful solution for a long time. So I decided to write here. I appreciate any help coming from forum users. …

Hi all- I'm considering a triple monitor setup. I currently have a 27" Dell Ultrasharp that I'm happy with. I also have a smaller 19" Dell that I run my FMC on while flying. These two monitors use both the DVI's on the back of my Titan. How do you run 3 monitors from two DVIs? Or, is an additional card required? I still have my 780 which I'm holding onto for now in case LM gets SLI working. Thanks, Mark

I bought a cheap SEIKI 39 inch 4K/2K monitor that seems to work just fine considering the price. (710 Can includes tax + express delivery UPS, TigerDirect.ca) NO BEZELS Yehhhh !! Max VRAM was 3630MB/3990MB(4G) Est max RAM usage in all = 6.3G/9.6G(16G) Was close but no OOM....P3DV22 PAJN/PANC in SAK at quite a bit high everything (30000 on shadows) screen res was 3840 x 2160 I would recommend this monitor with a high-end videocard THE VIEW !!! FANTASTIC no stutters...windows 8.1, locked fps 20 (monitor has a max of 30Hz, a limitation, but OK for P3DV22 if anyone is interested I can post pics or elaborate http://s25.postimg.org/5yqoipj…

I always get butterflys in my stomach installing new video drivers waiting to see if the PC successfully reboots. Has anyone tried these new drivers out at all in FSX. ideally on a 680gtx over 3 monitors? I upgraded my drivers a few months ago, but since then when I first select a 2d pop up for a second or so the screen goes blank then re appears. Didnt revert back to the older version that didnt have this effect as wanted the new ones for battlefied. Just though I might try this version to see if it gets rid of that problem. Will probably end up risking it, but any comments may take the stress out of the waiting for the reboot ! :( Cheers Steve

Hello all, I have read that another member (Bernie5) is pleased with this replacement, but unlike his situation, my GTX 560ti is still very much alive. I'm just looking for an upgrade (possibly better performance) of my equipment until buying a new PC in a few years time. The GTX 750ti is very affordable, gives me 1Gb extra memory and presumably newer technology. Any advice on whether this is indeed a good move would be very much appreciated. Kind regards, René

I have an i7/960 running @ 3.2, with 12 gig DDR3 RAM. I am running NVidia drivers 335.23. I recently installed an o/c GeForce 750Ti with 2 gig RAM, & have since been fine tuning FSX. I have followed the advice in Word Not Allowed's guide, and have taken on board some of Kabote's suggestions; I have set the affinity mask according to the recommended settings from the Gatwick FS Club's on-line tool. I now have a system that runs smoothly, with good FPS (locked at 30), and very little shimmering. However, I am getting stutters of anything from 1 to 5 seconds duration, and they appear to be random - they will happen even with the aircraft sitting on the ramp, en…

I am considering a graphics card upgrade and I was wondering if any of you can recommend a good ATI graphics card for under $200.00 AMD FX-8120 8GB RAM MSI 760GM-P34 FX motherboard. It's not the best PC but I want to get the most I can out of it for P3D mostly.

I am looking for a new driver for my nVidia 8700M card (on a Dell XPS M1730, which I use for FS9 when abroad). The current driver, 179.48, works fine but I am having big anti-aliasing problems and it seems that this driver is not supported by nVidia Inspector - at least, the configure icon does nothing when I click it at the moment. Does anyone know where I can get a more recent graphics driver for this O/S that will allow me to use nVidia Inspector? No luck Googling so far... Thanks, Martin

Using two monitors, is it possible to run FSX in full screen mode on one monitor while on the other is used to display Navigraph navigation charts etc? Perhaps if I run the second monitor off a separate graphics card in the same PC (is this even possible)? Or is this simply not possible unless I run the sim in windowed mode?

Hi, Just wondered if anyone has managed to make the nVidia Control Panel AA work in FS9? It makes no difference in the sim, whatever I set. I'd use nVidia Inspector instead, but it doesn't seem to support my driver. FS9's own AA cuts my fps from 30 to 2 or 3 when I activaye it!! Please see (if interest piqued!) here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/443665-nvidia-inspector-sweetfx-antialiasing-problems-anyone-able-to-help/ Thanks, Martin

Some people on the net have said that adding a dedicated sound card increases FPS by at least 5-10FPS by reducing CPU load is this true or BS? Sound cards are cheap and I wouldn't mind a 5 FPS boost.

Hi all- I'm cleaning up an old 8800gt nVidia card to use in a new build for my wife. When I removed the heat sink/fan I see what looks like heat transfer tape (see pic). Anybody know where I can get some of this? I could reuse it i suppose, but would rather replace it while I have the whole thing apart. Thanks, Mark http://goo.gl/KDZ8la

For use in P3Dv2, is a 4GB 770 or a 780 with 3GB a better option. Both have apparent upsides, but does anybody have experience with what works out better in actual usage?
