Just wondering if people are running the latest Nvidia drivers and how they're working on FSX? Especially on older cards if possible. I updated to the 320.49's that came out in July and was getting weird pauses/freezes in the sim constantly. Instead of rolling back to the much older driver I had been running, I read the 314.22's were considered really good for FSX so I moved to those and things have been fine. As some of the other stuff I play gets updated (WoW, SWTOR, etc.) I'm worried I might run into needing a newer driver though. After the experience with the 320.49's I'm hesitant to upgrade again. I've never had problems like that with a driver before, but then …

I accidentally uninstalled everything that has do with my graphics card (drivers, GPU tweak) so basically I have a graphics that my computer doesn't know about. So I put the disk that came with my card back in, installed everything, and installed the latest drivers, yet my computer still doesn't know i have a graphics card!!!!! I tried this at least three times (Uninstalling then reinstalling), and when I to play FSX It tells me I need a graphics card, (OBVIOUSLY) Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here? Kevin

I had a 460 GTX.. I'd average 20 to 30 FPS with most planes.. tolerable, I could fly. Gave my son a 660 GTX with 2 Gig of Memory for Xmas.. but he doesn't have the CPU to make Battlefield 4 run ok, so he was bummed. I bought the card of him to make him feel better. I know FSX is supposed to be CPU based, but I figured, hey, I might get a lil more FPS out of it. Instead it was the exact opposite. 3 to 4 FPS.. Just crap. Tried deleting my FSX..cfg... Removing and reinstalling the drivers.. nothing worked.. Tried running a repair of the accelerator Pack.. nothing... Finally gave up.. deleted FSX and all add ons and reinstalled FSX and Accelerator pack.. Still…

In Nvidia Inspector there is an option "Maximum pre-rendered frames". Some have set it to 0, some to 3, some 2,... What does this option do? Does any of those options increases load on graphics card? Have impact on stability (OOM and things like that)? Is there any consensus what's the best option for FSX?

Trying to switch from ATI to Nvidia but so far Im not having a pleasant experience. Installed a brand new evga gtx780 but when I try to install drivers it tries to reboot and then it just will not send a signal to my monitor. Stuck my ATI back in the same slot and everything works fine. Ive reseated the card three times, made sure the pins are connected properly, put the ati in to uninstall all nvidia software and started from scratch.... nothing seems to work. Just wondering if im missing something before I contact Amazon for a new card. The fans are turning on the card so I know its getting power, also im connecting through hdmi if that makes any difference.

I previously had an Nvidia 670 GTX FTW from EVGA (2GB).. My system is as follows: CPU: i7 2600k at 4.6 ghz (0.045+ offset) RAM: 16 GB OS: Windows 8.1 x64 Pro HDD: Sata III 64GB cache (for strictly the FSX portion) and a Sata III for the OS Monitors: 24" Westinghouse L2410NM x 3 at 5760x1200 in nvidia surround mode I used Word Not Allowed's AA Cloud test to compare performance on both the 670 and the 780ti with either 4xSupersampling or 4xSGSS (sparse grid super sampling). All tests were in DX10 mode with the latest dx10 fixes. Nvidia inspector is 1.9.72 Driver: 327.23 for the 670 tests and 331.65 for the 780Ti (had to install the latest for it …

Hey guys, Yesterday I picked up an EVGA GTX 780, everything went well for a while, but this morning after starting prepar3d V2, the computer went dead, the video card fan sounded like it was running @ max capacity. I was then unable to restart my desktop until I unplugged my GTX 780 and reinstalled my 680.. what a bummer :( Anyone has any suggestion for me to try? Thank you in advance John.

When I am on sites with multiple images (BBC), and I scroll up or down, there is a line across my screen that I seem to be "jumping" over. Also have flashing and shimmering on a fresh install of FSX. Setup as per Nick's bible for optimization. Games graphics (COD), and videos youtube are not affected though, so I have no idea what to look at or for. Any help would be appreciated. During the past week I replaced my old Nvidia 9500 GT with an Nvidia 650 GTX. I divide my time between FSX and FS9, but most of my time is spent with FSX. That said, I wanted to see how FS9 was with the new video card. What I found was wonderful--I can fly at max resolution, with 32x AA, and FS9 seems like a motion picture. The new video card seemed to improve FS9 more than it improved FSX, although an improvement was noticed in both sims. Not in fps, but in smoothness, sharpness and detail. I flew out of Sky Harbor, which is saturated with AI, and I felt like I was watching a video. I'm happy that FS9 still pleases after all these years. I think I'll be flyin…

I am currently running 3 22" monitors on an nVidia 660ti and windows 8 (I know it sucks). The resolution and frame rate are all fine I just can't get the FOV to fix when playing FSX. I have changed the "wideaspectview=true" but have not noticed any changes. The screen is still zoomed in without adding extra scenery to the actual screen. What gives?

Hello everyone. Quick question....Im in the process of building a primarily FSX computer. I have purchased everything except GPU and the monitor. I have been back and forth for like two weeks on this issue. I really want a 1440p monitor in 27 inch but I dont know if a single 770 is enough. I would like to play with reasonably high settings with enjoyable FPS. I have lots of add ons as well. Thanks so much in advance

Hi All, Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone thinking of getting a new Graphics card. I recently purchased a gtx770 4gb and to be honest it has made no difference in the running of FSX, yes the AA can be applied higher! I have an over clocked I7 [email protected] it does maintain 30 FPS but using payware aircraft does take a hit in a big airport and weather... The one thing that is most annoying is the BP tweak at 0 I get artifacts and flashing and set with RT none but then taxiing is rubbish lots of stuttering! I can live without autogen but you must have it on at aerosoft Madeira or the runways disappear. Anyway I came from a gtx 570 and can say th…

Hello! I have a new pc, and i have a problem. The screen is black for a few seconds and then it says that Nvidia Kernel stopped responding and has recovered or the Pc crashes and nothing works anymore. That happens very often, sometimes even directly after windows has started. I already uninstalled and reinstalled the newest Nvidia Driver but it didn't help. It's more a general problem, because it did neever happen while i was FSXing, it only happens when im working with any cheap programms, that actually do not need much graphic power, such as Windows Explorer or Editor... Thats very strange. I don't have any ideas anymore how i could fix it. At the moment the mon…

Hey all, i want to use 3 screens to run fsx, with the two side screens to show side views of the cockpit and the center view to show to forward view. In case i don't need to see the cockpt itself (separate hardware or screens to display gauges, pannel, mcp, ...), which views do i need to use to make this happen? I have a GTX680 4GB videocard. Regards My goal is to have as much peripheral view as possible (as in a real plane). Regards

Hey guys, I have been experimenting with many settings in Nvidia Inspector and still can't get the shimmering to stop. I am using an EVGA 780 GTX and Nvidia Inspector set to 4X AA, and AF to 12X for now. Using a triple head to go to 3 projectors at 1280X1024. Open to suggestions or new settings to try to reduce the shimmering effect. Angelo Cosma

Anyone here go from a triple monitor setup back to a larger, single monitor? I currently have triple 25" monitors (in nVidia Surround) and considering moving to a single, much larger single display. With the cost of 4K displays coming down to reasonable levels, moving to a 50" single display seems appealing. I'm curious if anyone who has gone from a triple display to say a larger 50"+ display (or short throw projector) regret it or not. Thanks!

Is my GTX560ti dying? If I switch around different views, it takes a while for the clouds and cockpit textures to appear correctly. Hope this makes sense.

I am currently in the process of deciding on a graphics card for a budget gaming PC which I will be playing a lot of FSX on. At the moment I have my eyes set on the AMD Radeon R7 260X, which looks like good bang for the buck. Would this, alongside an i5-4670 (3.4ghz), be ok for running FSX well? Anyone here currently using this card for FSX or other gaming? Please let me know what you think, and possibly suggest a better alternative for a similar price. Thanks.

Hi fellow simmers, I've recently acquired a GTX780Ti OC'd version (iChill by Inno3D), and have two old 21 (or 23) inch monitor which I'm thinking with the 3rd addition, I'll make it triple screen. On the third addition, I'm considering of getting two versions, either a ultrawide 21:9 (Dell U2913WM) but on a lower PPI/resolution, or a normal 16:9 but higher PPI/resolution monitor (Dell U2414H). The two I have now are both 16:9, so just wondering for a 3 monitor setup that the new graphics card can really take advantage of, which would you recommend? Thank you

Hi. I want to install the latest driver for my Nvidia 560TI graphic card. Which one of these ways do you recommend? 1- Uninstalling the previous one before installing the new driver or 2 - Just installing the new driver over the old one thereby updating it.
