Don't know if anyone has optimised these yet, spent all weekend trying to put my previous Inspector settings into the new version. The problem is there are a few new options which I didn't understand, so the crux of this post is that I couldn't reproduce the smoothness of the old driver and settings. Although a few have reported better frames with the new driver, I get a strange wave effect on screen when turning with external frame rate locked at 30. When I run unlimited this effect is gone, but there are slight stutters in turns (which weren't there before) and more blurries. Think I will have to roll back to previous driver, (:-)

Seems what look to be the new Gtx 780ti specs are out and the full GK110 is being unlocked. This thing is going to be a beast. Faster and significantly cheaper than a Titan. There's no way Titan could stay at its current price point. http://wccftech.com/gtx-780-ti-specifications-confirmed-gk110-2880-sp-sheer-power/

I have nVidia 314.22 driver GTX550TI 1gb memory video card i5 2500K CPU 3.4 ghz Periodically, while using P3D,the screen will freeze for a few seconds and then a message will appear on the taskbar (bottom right) that the nVidia video driver has reset. It is not a big problem nor is it very frequent. I have tried all the drivers following 314.22 but they cause frequent full freezes/lockups needing a reboot/load. That is a mystery as well. When P3D does run there is no material difference in appearance or performance so I stick with 314.22and try each new driver that is released.

I installed it tonight and it seems to work really well in DirectX 9 I have not tested DirectX 10. It also looks like AMD has added something called Gaming Evolved. it looks kind of interesting. Some kind of profile based game optimization tool. it scans your computer for your games and then make suggested settings for you at your request. If the person doesn't like it they can set it to not load with Windows or you can just exit it. I remember I had something like this with Nvidia. I never found it completely useful I usually set my own settings the way I wanted them. C.

I am thinking of replacing my triple 4:3 monitors with dual 16:9 monitors. My preference for triple has been that on approach and take off the centre line is in the middle of the centre monitor. It occurs to me that using the dual will put the centre line behind the bezels. Is that so? Is there any workaround?

Hello AVSIM community, I'm a relative newbie to FSX (and this forum) but have really been enjoying simple VFR flying. On the weekend I upgraded my GPU to a GTX 760 and unfortunately it seems to be causing an issue. The 'rotating aircraft' screen opens up, but when I click on the "Fly now" button I just get a black screen. I can hear the audio from the engine, and can alt-tab out of FSX to get to the desktop. I'm running WIN7-64. I just now found the AVSIM software and hardware guide, which looks awesome and perhaps the solution to my problem is in there. Thanks to everyone who contributed to it! I'm busy today but hope to get a chance to read it tomorrow or later th…

Hi Everyone, Firstly I've passively lurked these forums on and off for years from aside - THANKS to the collective soul and knowledge of everyone! I'm finally embarking on building a dedicated 172S Skyhawk NAV III sim based on FSX or P3D for primarily night flying, IFR, and procedural / workload management home training, which will have dedicated / separate G1000 panels / bezels and standby instruments etc. - basically all "external" instruments + a small side screen for miscellaneous controls and needs I can't mimic with hardware. Obviously since its primarily for cockpit tasks I'm not heavily concerned about the "prettiness" of the outside view, and actually wo…

I know we have all figured out 13.9 and 13.10 broke FSX in DX9, has anyone tried 13.11 to see if it works for FSX? Thanks! (Not wanting to be the guinea pig again!)

While I bide my time awaiting the P3DV2 release I'm also biding my time with the purchase of my new Dell U3014. I'll take the plunge when the dust settles with P3D , but am wondering if I should hold off a bit longer to take advantage of any reductions in price. In the UK the U3014 retails for about £900 + which is fairly steep. I'll go for it anyway but wondered if anyone knew when to expect the trend to start moving to 30 inch as mainstream monitors as the 27inch currently is. I'm torn between a 27 inch x1440 monitor at £500 v the 30 inch at double the price, Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Hi, I'm kind of stuck on this one. Installed the 331.65 drivers yesterday when something went wrong. When I boot "normal" after the initial Windows animation the screen goes black. When I boot in safe mode the it freezes on "classpnp.sys" for a few seconds and then I get a black screen with a mouse cursor. Tried to use Windows Repair without luck. I got no backup to restore the computer to an earlier point. I got a second computer at my disposal, is it possible to install drivers by connecting the disk and using Windows on the second computer? Or does anyone else have any solution to this problem?

Hey All, I am back to FSX after a very very long break, I am using it on my Satellite which has a 1 gb GT525m GPU, I need the nvidia inspector settings for it as FSX looks very ugly. I have the DX10 shaders patched. I know that this card is on lower end but FSX works quite well without any add ons. I am using the latest Geforce drivers 327. Hope someone can post the nvidia inspector settings.\ Regards.

I'm guessing the major options still stay the same, but it has been a year and a half since the 'updated' config guide was posted. There has been progress in both cards and drivers....maybe there is some new option to take advantage of? Thanks!

Battle of the Heavyweights Since there is already a considerable body of experience and knowledge base concerning the 480 GTX as it pertains to FSX, it seems to me that it would be worthwhile to attempt to objectively compare it to the new 580 GTX. Even though a wide game based comparison of benchmarks on both cards would be most helpful, what actually happens with these cards when flying in FSX is most important to the flight simulation community. In any such comparison every precaution must be taken to compare apples with apples when possible. So under most circumstances it is important to try and standardize both elements so that the differences will become app…

Hi community, Firstly, I would like to say that I'm an I.T tech, but I haven't kept up with the latest video cards that are around. I would like to upgrade my video card, but I need a little advice as to which one please. Added to that, I don't have a fortune to spend. At the moment I have the sim tweaked pretty good; I just get occasional wait times sometime when loading textures, such as the PMDG NGX. I was advised by a colleague at work that if I install a new video card, my system will be more 'balanced'. So, my existing specs are as follows: CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k (not overclocked) RAM: 8Gb Ripjaws PC1600 HDD0: 128Gb Crucial M5 SSD (For Windows Only…

Hey guys, been thinking a bit recently about my eventual future setup. Mainly about visual immersion factor... As you know, a regular 24-27" LCD screen appears too small from a viewpoint even some 1.5' away. It is big enough that you can not keep yourself focused on the whole area, but too small for any kind of peripherial vision... So I was thinking about how to get it better. A bigger screen seems obvious in the beginning, but I am concerned about the fact that the edges would be pretty much twice as far from my head compared with center. Unless there is a curved monitor in appropriate size, I need to look elsewhere (although a nice monitor with nice curvat…

So, I finally figured out what has been causing my FSX problems where I get a black screen in windowed mode. Apparently my AMD's newest software (v13.9) has an issue that causes FSX to run a black screen in Windowed Mode. I read on the Aerosoft forums that downgrading back to v13.4 fixes the problem. I tried to just install v13.4 and it said it installed, a lot quicker than a usual driver update does, but my computer still says v13.9 and I get a black FSX screen. I did restart my computer after the install. I don't want to screw stuff up farther than I have, so what I want to know is the proper way to go back to v13.4. When I first run v13.4 it asks if …

Hi , are this temps to hot for my video card when idle it runs at 48c/ 118f , when running FSX it runs up to 60c/ 145f+ . I have GTS 250 no oc, My quad core cpu q9450 when idle will be mid 50c and will run up to 60c - 65c during FSX. Are these temps ok, because I am having problem again with graphic corruption after FSX runs for awhile, gauges get wavy lines through them and computer will crash and restart. Had this problem before and I recently used Nick N guide did some adjustment within FSX and things where running really good. The other day downloaded real air legacy and started to have same problem again. tried to see if anything has changed but can't find anything. …

Hi When I went to the Flight Sim show at Cosford at the weekend I was really impressed seeing FSX on large High res screens and multi-screen setups. I currently have a 22 inch 1680 x 1050 monitor and am tempted to get something bigger and therefore higer res. I am however worried that the FPS might drop alarmingly and/or the Graphics card might not be able to cope. I have a I7 2600 (not K) processor running Windows 7 64 bit, 6 GB of RAM and a 2GB Nvidia 660 graphics card. Currently I get around 40 to 50 FPS with REX, default scenery and aircraft dropping to around 30 FPS with complex aircraft on OrbX England and down to around 15 – 20 FPS around complex UK200…

Interesting review of AMD's next video card from HardOCP. http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/10/07/asus_r9_280x_directcu_ii_top_video_card_review#.UlP87lCsiqh In sum, the 280X has basically the same performance as a GTX 770 but for $100 less, and it appears NVIDIA won't be lowering the 700 series MSRP anytime soon. I'm looking to upgrade from my GTX 570 and I'm seriously considering this. How are AMD's drivers doing with FSX these days?

Hi, I just saw a PC on sale($1250). Here is its Specs: XPS 8500 I7-3770 3.4GHZ 12GB, 2TB, 32GB, DRW, 2GB, WIFI, W8 Video: AMD 7770(2GB) Currently, I have: I7-870 @2.9 8GB Win7 64bit AMD 5850(1GB) My current PC preforms above my expectation. I have done most of Word Not Allowed's guide and the shader mode 3.0 and I get between 17 to 22 FPS at FSdreamteam LAX with 100% AI in the NGX(after lowering gauges and model resolution), FTXGlobal and low resolution clouds. Since, it has been a while since my last upgrade, I thought it was time. I have searched the net and came up with the conclusion that 5850 is a better card than 7770 but the latter h…

Hey All, As I am removing my Desktop and the only system I shall be having will be my Toshiba Satellite which is an i5 2430m with a 1 GB 525m. Now I am not posting to show the performance , but I will say that she flies nice The problem is using FSX on Acer 20" which is connected to laptop VGA connector and whenever I try to push FSX to that display it does not go up to 1600x900 res and it sticks to the laptop LCD res of 1366x768, BTW the display settings in FSX shows up two Nvidia 525m 525m.0 525m.1 Even after selecting 525m.1 (which is the Acer 20" LED) I cannot push the resolution. Hope someone could help me.
