I have decided to go with a multi monitor setup but I am at the 'fork in the road' point. I have a single 580GTX on my pc which not capable of nVidia Surround with out purchasing an additional card in SLI. So do I buy a TH2G or spend a bit more and move up to a 680/780GTX? With my 580 I am getting very acceptable frame rates and I am by all means not dissatisfied with the card at all. Thoughts? Kevin -.- . ...- .. -. 2. Hello members, I need your help if possible. I recentle bought the Matrox triplehaed2go splitter, but I can't get it started. After connecting my 3 (identical) monitors to the triplehead2go and connecting the splitter to my pc I started up the computer full of expectation. The pc recognized the 3 monitors, so far so good, but,,, as soon as my desktop screen (I don't know if this is the correct name) things went wrong. The desktop background image was spread over the middle monitor and a small part on the right and left monitor. But there was noting to see of any program icons or the taskbar normally visible at the bottom of the desktop screen. I thought the screen…

  3. Good evening, I am trying to search but not sure exactly what I am looking for. I just put an old monitor as my 2nd monitor. I planned on using it for other things like the web browser so I can see charts and whatnot while I am flying. I fly using full screen. Is there any way I can make it so my 2nd monitor does not load with FS and I can use it freely for other things? Thanks for your help.

  4. I am finding that my gauges on a 27" aren't big enough so I am thinking of purchasing an LG 42" 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV 1980X1080 Resolution. http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/lg-electronics-lg-42-1080p-120hz-led-hdtv-42ln5400-42ln5400/10243577.aspx?path=012bd28a9a72dc52751071b1cf7e075aen02&SearchPageIndex=1 Any suggestions?

I'm thinking about doing a triple monitor setup not only for FSX but gaming in general. Not sure if my current setup is powerful enough to handle this. I currently have a 750watt power supply and a GTX 680 FTW 4GB card, and an i7-3770k OC to 4.5Ghz running on a 30" Apple Cinema DIsplay at 2560x1600. Which setup for FSX do you guys think would be better? And for other games wouldn't I need a SLI setup such as Battlefield 3/4, etc? I like to play all my games on ultra or the most extreme settings possible. So I'm not sure how demanding 5760*1080 is vs 2560x1600.

Hi guys, I'm wondering whether anyone is using IPS panels instead of TNs. Does SFX run well on 5ms IPS monitors, or would you rather have the faster TN monitor? I'm asking because I am about to buy a new monitor and would appreciate your comments and advice. Thanks, Bob.

I got to thinking- my GPU (580) is most likely fairly old (311.06). Is there any newer drivers that are recommended for FSX and XPX? Sometimes a driver seems to come out that has a sweet-spot for FSX... Thanks, Bruce.

Greetings, I am experiencing major problems approximately 45 minutes into flight with the GTX680 card. Basically, aircraft textures, weather and scenery begins to disappear or turn strange colors, or everything described simultaneously. Usually, things simply disappear when views are changed after a period of about 45 minutes. I've disabled firewall and and anti-virus but I don't think that's the answer. this seems to be most prevalent with aircraft like the two RealAir Duke brothers and other complex aircraft. Jetline Windows 7 64-bit (three monitors). GTX680 RAM 16.0 GB Intel Core i7-3770K CPI @ 3.500Hz 3.50 GHz Any assistance is deeply appreciated. …

I've narrowed down my choices to either 3x Samsung PS60F5500 for £979 each or 3x BENQ W1080ST for £849 each with 3x 106" screens for £199. The problem is I dont have much room so need to screens to be right up to my cockpit. I'm worried that the projector will be blocked by the MIP structure.

I have just bought it (PNY XLR8 enthusiast edition) and now I see that it is not recognized by the driver software as a supported game. How do I tune the card to get the best out of it for FSX or should I dump it and get a AMD product?

A naive question : does FSX show more vertical space, more pixels to show the external view and the upper instruments, in 16:10 (for instance 2560x1600 or 1920x1200) than in 16:9 (2560x1440 or 1920x1080) or just stretch the same display ? Thanks for your comments

Greetings, In my attempts to figure out why 2 of 3 FSX flights crash with an error in the d3d11.dll module I fired up NVIDIA Inspector. When it opened, it was not my MS Flight Simulator X profile that was loaded/active, but instead was "_GLOBAL_DRIVER_PROFILE (Base Profile)". Okay, maybe I made an error somewhere. I changed it back to my profile, Apply Changes, and we are a go. Nope. Restarting Inspector show that my profile is no longer active, but instead the GLOBAL profile is. What gives?

  17. I have a 5 year old Dell XPS 730 with a liquid cooled QX9650 processor overclocked to 3.67 GHz and a GTX 280 1 Gb video card. Recently the video card went flakey on me and needed replacement, I figured that most cards available today would be better than my old GTX 280, and I replaced it with a GT 610 2 Gb card. I also updated with the latest available drivers for the card. After all this this, the performance in FSX has now decreased significantly, as also the performance in Rail Simulator 2013. So, is this new card inferior to my old GTX 280, or did something else get messed up in the switch? If the new GT 610 card is indeed inferior to my old one, which new ca…

Hi All I am thinking of upgrading to: i5 4670K Haswell running @ 4.4ghz Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP motherboard 8gig DDR3 1600mhz RAM and pondering on what graphics card to purchase. From what I can tell from reviews, it seems that the 760 and 670 perform more or less the same with perhaps the 670 being slightly faster, with both cards being around the £200 mark. Does anyone have any thoughts on which they feel is the better card or perhaps other alternatives? Budget wise I cant really go much above the £200 already stated. Thanks

I have a 5'x6' storage room in my house and I am staking a claim that it is going to be my FS room. I currently use the home theatre with a 140" screen but that involves rolling my sim cockpit in and of a closet. the 5'x6' room might some day be the home of a NGX cockpit but that will wait till I am retarded, sorry retired In the mean time I am looking for a 50 to 60 inch hi res monitor. Already spent about $3000 on a Haswell build so its getting harder to justify the expense. Any suggestions of a 50 to 60 inch LCD montor suitable for FSX. Never want to spend more than I have to but don't mind pushing out the boat for the right equipment.

  24. I have recently installed the above video card into an XP sp2 environment. I began to have lots of blue screens which initially I put down to memory errors. There were so many that Windows itself crashed and had to be reinstalled. After the reinstallation it was clear that in the original installation Windows "lied" when it said it was installing drivers from the video card's disc. It was in fact installing its own. The driver in question being NV4_DISP.dll In the Nvidia control panel I set everything to the default settings and since then there has been every screen colour imaginable except "blue!" My old video card a Gforce 440 did everything perfectly. But I have …

  25. So I have downloaded the new panel.cfg files for all aircraft to solve the problem of the flashing cursor when doing a Shift+1 for the main panel. All of the other 2D windows are resized perfectly and work great. The problem is on the main panel only on some of the aircraft. On some aircraft it fixes the problem where the main panel is perfect. There are some where it is still having the issue where the main panel doesn't pop up and I get the dreaded flashing cursor like the computer is constantly thinking. Any ideas on a fix for this? I'm not that well versed on reconfiguring the panel.cfg files as far as resizing. If anyone has had the same issues I would love…
