Hey guys, running FSX Win 7 64 bit fully updated with FSX Accelerated SP2, homebuilt machine. Intel 3770K, ASUS P8Z77-V Board, Corsair 8GB, EVGA 670GTX, running to a triple head 2 go at 1280X1024 (X3). This is a reformat to SSD and new CPU and never had this problem before but it is happening frequently now. I run in VC 24/7 with no cockpiy visible as this is solely for outside view only. When changing positions, or different airports, or sometimes changing the time of day, FSX turns all black and only the AutoGen is visible. In other instances the whole visual is black, just a black screen, I can hear the sounds and also if I press ESC the menu sh…

Hi, I guess this is a good place to post my question. I didn't know if it would be better to post at Flight Simulator's Thread or here. But anyway, here's my question. I have the Nvidia G Force 520 graphics card. In Flight Simulator 2004, I checked the box that says, Extended Terrain Textures, but it's not extending the details of the tarrain and looks exactly the same. In the Nvidia Control Panel, it's set to the default and the option is Let the 3D Application Decide. With this setting, I assume this means that the settings in the graphics card has no affect and it will allow the simulator to decide on the graphics. Am I not correct? But when I make this change in flig…

Hello, as of late I have been having the error message "the display driver has stopped responding and recovered...". I can play most games after this occurs but if I try to run FSX without first rebooting I'm into low single digit FPS. I've been dealing with ZOTAC support and they thought it was a driver issue, but after installing the latest drivers, and rolling back to older drivers etc, the issue persists. Strangely it never occurs while I'm actually playing FSX, only when I'm at the desktop or occasionally loading FSX (it's almost as if the issue occurs more often when the card is under a light load). ZOTAC support now thinks it's likely a hardware issue; the …

I just purchased a LG IPS 29" Ultra Wide along with a new HDMI cable. I'm unable to get any signal out to the monitor. I tested the cable which is fine and installed the delivered LG software. I just wonder if my mobo (see my side board) doesn't support HDMI graphics? Have sent query to Gigabyte but no response yet. I'm running with DVI for now but it does seem a bit strange.

The Nvidia 780/Titan cards offering is puzzling. Most of the cards look alike on pictures as if they were made by Nvdia and a different sticker was stuck on them but the price can significantly differs. So what's the deal ? Appareance does not tell the whole story ? You get something more when you pay more ?

Should be able to pick up 3 monitors for the price of what 1 used to cost at this time of year: for instance Tiger Direct 20" for $80, or 23" for $100 just as one example. http://www.tigerdirect.com/email/wem3877.asp?SRCCODE=WEM3877CN&cm_mmc=email-_-Main-_-WEM3877-_-tigeremail3877&utm_source=EML&utm_medium=main&utm_campaign=WEM3877&[email protected]&SEG=C&lk=9

Hey guys, Here is the deal, I had a perfectly running fsx system. Installed P3Dv2 to try it out. Had to update video drivers and enable AERO function in win7 to get good results. Due to issues with pmdg 737 I abandon the P3D idea and uninstalled. Went back to FSX and now it will not run in full screen mode! Goes for about 20secs at .7fps then shuts down fsx with no failure code or anything. Windowed mode works great, 30fps steady and no issues. Here is what I tried, Reinstalling nvidia drivers Uninstalled through win7 and roll back to previous good working drivers Shut off win7 aero Still could not run in full screen mode. Now the strange part, if I take…

Hello to all, I have some issues with FSX windowed mode using EnfinityEye ( I get all the virtual 2D cockpit on 3 monitors)... What happens is that while I fly FSX with TrackIr (more or less with 20/25 frame rates..) I get the monitors image freezed while the sim still works in the background... So, If I reduce the FSX window from 3 monitors to 2 or less, the images get operating and all goes fine... I guess it has to do with my SVGA...it does not refresh fastly the monitor image..and I get the freezing.. Is this correct? So what about an up grade to the new R9 209X?Could it help?? Thanks a lot.. My sistem is: -CPU INTEL i5-3570K 3,4 GHZ 77W OC…

Hi all, I currently own a GTX580, which for P3D v2 seems to be pretty low-end. I am considering upgrading to either a GTX780ti or GTX Titan, but I am not sure what would be the better option. From a couple of benchmark tests, the 780ti seems to outperform the Titan and is a bit less expensive. However, its VRAM is 3GB as opposed to the Titan's 6GB. So I was wondering, how important is this difference in VRAM and what does this practically mean in terms of performance? Should I also expect a performance boost going from a 580 to either of these two cards with P3D being far more dependent on the GPU? I am aware that P3D v2 has been released only yesterday, but if s…

I’m always hesitant these days to instal new drivers when everything is working ok. Often get half way through and start cursing myself when the instal fails part way through ! However I am tempted by Battlefield 4 on the PC, but don’t want to mess with my FSX installation as it’s performing the best ever at present. However my drivers on my 680GTX are over a year old and suspect these will not be great for BF4. Anyone had any experience of 331.82 with FSX and if so any problems installing or with performance? I also run on 3 monitors. Any advise appreciated Cheers Steve

Hi gents! Yesterday my FSX went crazy performance wise. I didn't fire up FSX for a few days, so I can't remember exactly if I did anything in my system that would affect FSX's performance (I've been doing some experiences in Gmax, though I don't see how can it affect FSX in any way). By low performance I mean low frames, stuttering like hell and lots of glitches while panning view. Here's my system btw: Intel i5 3750k @stock (yes, I know... , since I bought it, I didn't have the necessary time yet to learn on how to OC it properly); ATI 5770 1Gb RAM 8Gb system RAM Asrock Z77 Pro4 First thing I did was to backup current installation and settings …

A couple of days ago I upgraded my 6 year old Radeon 4870 512MB video card for a newer Radeon HD 7870 2GB OC version and see a slight loss of performance and visual quality in FSX....... How can this be..... Loaded the latest drivers and everything seems to be working ...... Have tried various settings and tweaks with minimal results...... I know the card is working as have seen a very noticeable improvement in visuals and FPS in other game applications...... It seems like a step backward in FSX however...... Any thoughts as to what I may be doing wrong..... I know FSX is CPU limited, but my 6 year old Intel E8500 overclocked to 3.8 has been keeping me in the game longer …

Looking to build a computer soon and was advised that the 770/780 is causing some shimmering and black screen issues. Is anybody getting these issues? Researched it a little and saw that it might have to do something with NVIDIA Surround or using multi monitor setup. Also could be related to Nvidia Inspector multi monitor setup not being checked if using more than one monitor. I don't think it has to do anything with the drivers, as not everyone is having these problems. Anyways, does anybody know anything about this and maybe a solution. I just don't want to purchase a new computer and experience these issues. FYI, I'll only be using a one monitor setup. Thanks in advanc…

Thinking of upgrading my 580 1.5GB to 760GTX 4GB, mostly to use with XPlane 10. I'm a little worried about power though, as the 760 has two fans while my 580 has one. My power supply is only 720W - is that going to cause a problem? http://kakaku.com/item/K0000566687/ (Sorry, link is Japanese because that's where I live...)

Ive done some internet searches but still no positive answer. I have an HD tv id like to hook my PC up to for flight sim. My video card only has a DVI out and my tv only has VGA and HDMI inputs. Can I use a normal DVI to HDMI adapter cord or do i need some sort of converter. Will this work? Thanks for any help at all.

So just this last couple of days I've been tinkering with overclocking my GTX 780's using EVGA precision X to squeeze some extra performance out of them. So far as FSX my overclocking results on the cards (not running in SLI for FSX) yielded an average performance improvement of about 2FPS. What I noticed during the course of my testing though was that the GPU would run at it's full boost clock as long as FPS were set to unlimited and there was no 1/2 refresh rate/fps limits set in Nvidia Inspector. Monitoring was done using GPU-Z. However, as soon either 1/2 refresh rate was set or an FPS limit (internal or nvidia inspector) the GPU would fail to run at its b…
