Hi All, I am wondering how to set up my screens. I bought the GTX 680 4GB and i would like to have a good panoramic view. I am doubting between getting 3 monitors to be setup with NVidia Surround, but here i am a bit afraid of the FPS hit. On the other hand, a good LED TV with high resolution in combination with Track IR could be very good as well. Please leave your advises and experiences here... Thanks

Sorry to return to this - I know it's been covered in the past. But in my defense... since it seems that Prepar3d 2.0 is going to take much greater advantage of the GPU, I thought that might be reason to take another look. So, my question: specifically for P3D 2.0, is there reason to opt for the Titan over the 780? Or would the Titan's advantages (somewhat greater speed, more VRAM) not make a real-world difference? I could talk myself into spending more for a Titan, but I don't want to do that unless I'm going to see some benefit in P3D. I'm not a gamer, just a flightsimmer, so performance in other games isn't a factor for me. With the caveat that this is al…

Hi Quick question. How do I get my custom Nvidia inspector profile to be the default one? I think it was before but recently I discovered I have to go in every time and change the profile from the default one to mine and hit apply. I just can't remember how to set my custom profile as default. Cheers Lee

I'd like to run squawkbox only on a small second monitor--not sure how to set it up. I will run FSX and squawkbox from the same PC. Do I simply plug the second monitor into the second DVI from the GTX 770 graphics card? I have the primary monitor using the upper DVI port. Once it is plugged in, do I then go to (Win 7 64 bit) and set up monitor 1 and monitor 2? Finally when I fire up FSX and SB, do I just slide the SB window to the second monitor? I run FSX in full view. Or, do I start SB externally on monitor 2 and then FSX monitor 1? Is there any performance lost with 2 monitors running off same pc/graphics card? Do I need to do anything within SB? Any ad…

As FSX can benefit from SLI only in spotplaneview and I am having a Ifly737 home cockpit I was thinking of the following as outsideview : spotplaneview with an invisible aircraft. What I would like to ask is if someone with SLI would be willing to test a spotplane view with the Ifly 737 with and without SLI enabled and report back on the fps. Word Not Allowed's tests about a year ago showed that some gauges break the SLI code. So I would like to know if by runing the Ifly in spotplaneview SLI will run or not. If SLI is working well I will disable the exterior and use spotplaneview. I now have a GTX680 and a second one is not so expensive on the second hand mar…

Hi all, I am looking to get a single GPU as an upgrade for my computer at the end of the year. Currently I have a 3x120 fan'd radiator watercooling my CPU only. So I was wondering a few things: Criteria Capable to take on modern simulation products/games like P3D V2.0, ArmA III, BF4, DCS, GTA5 for PC (when it comes out) etc. at max or near max settings with ease (assuming that's doable) Not looking to OC the GPU if possible, or if I do OC, it must be able to run daily without needing to OC and reset everytime I want to run something I won't be doing much if any development work with 3D rendering (3DMax, Maya, CAD etc.) or CUDA programming, but I will be using P…

Hello, I don't have room for a double or triple monitor set-up. Instead I am thinking of a widescreen 29 inch monitor with a wide aspect ratio. Has anyone used one of these or does anyone recommend a particular model or indeed, does anyone have any advice please? Thanks Phil Murfin (Matlock UK)

I'm starting out on a rebuild of my rig. I have most of the components sorted, bar the GPU. I want to buy a new nVidia 700 series GPU but unsure of the optimum one for FSX? 760, 770 or 780? I fly with either ORBX or payware photoscenery and always use either A) 30" 2,560 x 1,600 monitor; or B) nVidia 3D Vision with a 120 Mhz monitor and 3D classes In the future I plan on buying an Oculus Rift instead. Any opinions?

As the title suggests, with my FSX setup I used a 22" Iiyama touch screen as my second monitor to operate EFB and FMC. In P3D anything that is not part of the sim itself, e.g. Aivlasoft EFB, Plan G, work fine with the touch screen. However any 2D panel associated with an aircraft, FMC, GPS, MCP etc, undocked and dragged to the second touch screen do not respond to the touch. The cursor graphically changes as expected, but the input is not registered by P3D. It is the same whether I run in full screen or windowed mode. Has anybody come across the same issue and can offer any advice? The touch screen drivers are installed correctly and all other software respo…

Hi, I'm running into a problem with a rig build for a friend of mine. The system has an MSI 660 TI twin frozr III 3gb graphicscard in it. The first 3 months everything worked flawlessly. Then, all of a sudden during startup the card goes haywire and gives the following images Then after the screen goes black and returns like this From this on resolution and color depth can no longer be adjusted. The solution then is to remove the graphicscard in the device manager of Windows (7 - 64bits) and reboot the computer. After reboot, Windows detects the card and reinstalls and then every works again as it should. Strange thing is, this is intermittent. Th…

As the title implies all my approach lights now have a very bad appearance whereas before they were OK. Incidentally everything else is fine and I am very happy about the settings except for these lights blooming. What setting in Nvidia inspector would cause this please? Any advice? I want to buy a new GPU for games such as FSX, DCS, Arma III and Battlefield 4. I want to play on my 3 monitor setup, which is a 3x 1920x1080. Plus I might add a small VGA or DVI screen as an instrument panel. The cards I'm thinking of buying are the the 7990, EVGA GTX 680 4GB, GTX 690 or the GTX Titan 6gb. 7990: I most likely wont go for the 7990, regardless of all the positive benchmarks and it being the most powerful GPU on the market. It has only 3gb of mem in total anyways and AMD wont work too well with FSX and DCS, and from what I've seen, Battlefield also prefers Nvidia. Nevertheless, I will keep my options open. EVGA GTX 680 4GB: My friend recently go…

Hi all with everyone moving to faster, bigger and better, who is using a 30 inch monitor with a 2560x1600 setup ? I have been debating for months whether to go down this road. I'm currently using a 24' 1920 x 1200 res setup with which I have been very happy for a number of years. My GC is a Nvidia 660Ti GTX with 2GB mem. and my CPU is an i7 950 @ 4.0Ghz o/c. If upgrading to this monitor, would I need to upgrade the graphics card memory to 3GB, or would the current setup cope with the bigger display and resolution? Thanks eric

Greetings! Yesterday morning I was flying in FTXGlobal over various parts of Kentucky and everything was fine: frame rate locked at 30, beautiful smoothness. Took a break and started a new flight from the airport I had landed at earlier. Just sitting on the tarmac I knew something was wrong: cockpit views stuttered when I changed the viewpoint, and the locked spot camera stuttered badly when I rotated around the aircraft. Taking off was just painful: massive stuttering. Reboot changed nothing. Task Manager says the CPU is loafing - lots of spare cycles. The NVIDIA Monitor on the other hand shows the GPU CPU as fully utilized - 100 percent busy just sitting on …

I have an HP laptop that has switchable graphics. The drivers from HP haven't been updated since 2011, so I'm running with something really old at this point. I can get drivers up to 13.1 from leshcatlabs.net that should be stable for my laptop. Does anyone know what version tends to give the best performance with FSX? Should I even expect any performance increase? Thanks.

This is a kind of precaution post to those who are going to upgrade computers for FSX. Today i have got my brand new Gigabyte GTX760OC 2Gb graphic board. 760 is replacement for my old 460. And ... got nothing extra, maybe 1fps, maybe not. With my old GTX460 at OMDB ( FLY TAMPA ) with PMDGT7 i had around 20fps with mouse pointer, around 26-28 without mouse pointer. With new GTX760 i have exactly same values !!, nothing gained. No extra fps, texture loading time same - no any noticeable change. It is hard to believe, but it's true. So why to buy expensive graphic, no sense. I think top graphic for FSX is GTX650, buying anything better is pure waste of mone…

Hi, i am about to change my tired 460. I was almost ready to buy Gigabyte 760 2Gb, but then i found this: http://www.jetlinesystems.com/performance.php I am confused about this: "The Nvidia GeForce GTX 690 and other dual GPU graphics cards to be a significant performance decrease to FSX. This is due to their integrated dual GPU design. Jetline is not offering these models due to low FSX test results" 760 is dual core or not ?? Do i have to consider this findings seriously ?

I tried using nVidia Inspector's automatic fan control. It keeps the video card temperature at 68% with 99% load. The card fan is running at 38%. I would like to lower the automatic temperature threshold about 5 or 10 degrees but see no way of doing that???

I have FSX running in fullscreen mode on three screens using the 2x DVI and the 1 HTMI using nvidia surround to give a resolution of 6072 x 1080. Now I would like to add a forth monitor using the spare DisplayPort socket on my video card to display things such as GPS or FMC. I've looked at USB powered touch screens such as Mimo and Lilliput and ruled them out and if I use an adaptor from displayport to HDMI it gives me a much larger and cheaper choice for the 4th monitor Can this be done with FSX running in full screen mode?

Hi all,I just finished my new build and in the process of selling my old computer- the monitor however is probably going to remain with me as most want a widescreen. In any case, it is now sitting on my desk next to my new widescreen (pictured). Is there any way I can run FSX fullscreen (for performance reasons) on the larger monitor, and run utilities (such as Jeppview, viewing weather, TOPCAT, flightplanning software) on my smaller monitor, without the need to go back and fourth, or use windowed mode? Is there a special utility I'd have to purchase?I'm running both monitors off of a single GTX 580 card, and Windows 7, 64bit- using the "expand desktop" option.Any help wo…
