  1. Got the funding to get a Titan video card. Upgrading from 2 x GTX 580's. Wanting to run 3 x 40" TV's. The units only have HDMI input, the Titan only one HDMI out. All comments and advice well appreciated. Thank You.

  2. Hi everyone, I thought I'd share this little fix with you in case you have this problem as well. For a little while I've had this problem where some sort of little shadow is trailing behind fast moving objects on screen, such as the mouse pointer. It will also happen during fast movements in FSX. It can be a little annoying. I had no idea where it was coming from and thought it was some kind of driver issue, or some setting in NVIDIA Control Panel/Inspector. But it is not like that. Today, I found it was caused by my monitor. To fix it, for Asus monitors, you have to go in Menu -> System Setup -> All Reset -> YES. And then it should be fixed. Good luck.

Hello guys, I have in my system two GTX 275 in SLI mode. What´s a good graphic board to buy to increase the quality and FPS in FSX? A SLI System have influence in FSX performance? I only have 17-25 FPS with Nvidia Inspector and bojote setting and I want to have 30 FPS at least. Any advice will be very appreciated. (sorry about my not very good english). Thank´s Fred Matias AMD 1100T, 2GTX 275 (SLI), 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD (FSX), HAF932.

  4. My GTX560Ti almost out of warranty so I sold it (yeah, out of warranty = less money and hard to sell) and look for a better one. From what I know the 650Ti is not as powerful as 560Ti. The 660Ti and the new GTX760 is faster and more powerful. I'm changing to FSX now so it will be my main sim. Should I get the 660Ti / 760? Does the difference noticeable (comparing to GTX560Ti)? When I use my GTX560Ti, my system didn't handle well FSX. I don't know if it's the CPU or the VGA that needs upgrading. Thanks all!

Hi Simmers, I enabled DX10 last week, and fsx has become much smoother. However, I discovered that, when running 4096 resolution texture for REX Essential Overdrive clouds with AS2012, I found that my GTX 660 is running at full load (Nvidia Inspector Monitor), and sometimes can only turn out 15 fps. My CPU is an i7-3770k running at 4.5Ghz and any of the 4 cores does not seem to run at 100% (Windows Task Manager). My FSX is tweaked with Xtreme FSX PC (I also tried the AVSIM guide, which did not work as well as the Xtreme FSX PC) so I believe the FPS should be maximized. So do you have an opinion as to how to get better fps without changing the cloud resolution. Or do …

I could do with some advice from the wealth of knowledge on this forum. So I woke up this morning, turned on my PC with GTX670 that is connected to 3 LG 22inch 1680x1050 monitors, only to find that one is powered but completely black. 1st thought was that the Display Port to VGA convertor was damaged so I tried in different socket, then I tried a different cable then a different computer but to no avail. So here's my quandary, could it just be the backlight that has failed and if so does anybody know anywhere in the UK that sells them, do I just go out and buy another 2nd hand £50 monitor to replace it or do I scrap the whole triple monitor idea and go for a single 27…

Hi everyone, I am seeing the temperature in my video card core rise to about +75 C when I go flying in FSX (all sliders to the max). Is this normal? The reading comes from the Nvidia Inspector. Wondering what you're seeing with your video cards. Thanks. Mike

Hello guys, I have recently installed FTX Global which I use with UK2000 scenery, I have suffered a severe FPS drop since installing FTX. I use the NGX, PMDG 747 and the Aerosoft Airbus X Extended, all of which have roughly the same FPS when on the ground at EGLL, varies between 20 and 8 FPS. I was thinking of upgrading my GPUs but can't decide whether or not it would make a difference if I had a GTX770 instead of 2 GTX660s, I have 4 screens all in all, 3 are the same iiyama T2250MTS and the other is my TV which is a 42" LCD Full HD, I un-dock some panels to move to another screen for viewing, with PMDG I un-dock the main displays and the FMC, with the Airbus jus…

Hi Guys, Just wondered if you think I'd see any real difference in upgrading my current (1600 x 1200 res) 21" inch monitor to a 27" inch 1920 x 1080 resolution monitor. I know the size difference will play apart but do you think I'd see a visual improvement. Many Thanks for your time and advice John p.s. Just for your info my Graphics cards are perfectly capable of handling the increase in res (2560 x 1600)

Hello, I was wondering how more VRAM affects FSX. I've heard it helps a bit in loading terrain and clouds but I just wanted to make sure. I was thinking about upgrading my video card from a gtx 560 1gb non-ti to something like a gtx 760 either 2 or 4 gb VRAM. I use a lot of payware aircraft, scenery and other utilities. I also play games like battlefield 3 and some others. I have an i5 2500k already overclocked to 4.2-4.3 ghz too.

Lately I've developed an interest in recording my flights. I got FRAPS and this works fine when capturing an instant replay (or a FS Recorder saved flight) but for recording in real time while flying the FPS hit using FRAPS is rather huge I found out and for this reason I have looked into other possible ways recording my flights in real time. First I started looking into other capturing software like BanditCam, Dxtory etc but peoples comments were pretty spread...some claimed the FPS hit was almost zero while others said the FPS was still there even using these programs so then I found a hardware solution called Live Gamer HD by Avermedia where the FPS hit should be a…

I'm trying to figure out the best setup for my new 3-monitor (Dell U2412M) configuration. I believe my existing desk is large enough (46" W x 30" D) for all 3 monitors, but the desk has a 1/2" raised edge (leg piece) on each side of the desk that limits the individual monitor stands from extending over each side of the desk. So there's no way the 3 separate monitors will fit. I considered a new desk or modifying my existing desk until I saw the Ergotech 100-D16-B03-TW Triple Monitor Desk Stand. Is anyone using this stand for their FSX 3-monitor setup?

Hi guys, I'm highly confused on which dualhead2GO unit I need to get, I have two of the same monitors and a 560TI card, so now I'm ready for the dualhead2GO. When I search at amazon.com there are many different choices and many different prices. Can someone tell me which unit to get. Also, if any other company besides Matrox makes a similar, but cheaper product, I'm open to suggestions there to. Thanks, Jeff

  15. I resently added a 3rd monitor to my setup. Before that I was able to run the PMDG 737 with VC on 2 windows 1920x1080 with reasonably framerates on most major airports. Now when I open a 3rd VC window on the 3rd monitor (1920x1080) framerates drops to 2-3 pfs. I'm able to run some other AC, like the Level-D with 3 VC windows open, and FSX running relativly smooth.. I'm running FSX on an i7-2700K (@ 4,5), 2x8Gb Kingston HyperX Ram, Gigabyte HD 7970 3Gb (@1100), Win7 x64. Both OS drive and FSX drive is SSD's. Anyone who can see the bottleneck causing this "problem"? Is it the PMDG's on 3 windows that's too heavy on the CPU? Or is it a GPU-problem, and if it i…

  17. Wondering what people feel is the best driver? Please bear with me while I explain the background on this though........ A couple weeks ago I started having some weird random blue-screens in the middle of the night and a couple hard locks while playing FSX. The blue screens pointed to the driver verifier so I updated some old drivers assuming Windows updates may have messed with them and made them unstable. I had updated my old (2010 era) Saitek X52 drivers, Logitech Setpoint (also 2010 era), and my video drivers from 310.90 to the latest 320.49. I think I figured out afterwords that the big culprit was actually a recent Windows Update that claimed to be a new driv…

Hello. I am thinking about trying to add a second monitor to my setup. I have a 560ti with two DVI outputs. I fly almost exclusively in the NGX. What I'd like to do is move the PFD/ND to the second monitor. I believe I can do this by clicking on them and then moving them to the second monitor(possibly needing to undock in there too). Has anoyone done this with this video card? Any comments on performance? Is it doable or will performance suffer too much? Thanks as always for any help.

After completing my first FSX dedicated PC build, I was revelling in the satisfaction of reaching FSX nirvana. That is until I watched a YouTube video of a 3-monitor FSX flight. It became apparent that my 2-monitor setup is “surround-challenged”. From my research, it appears that to move up to a 3-monitor “Surround” setup I need to: Add a 3rd Dell U2412M monitor to match my existing pair Replace my GeForce GTX 560 Ti card From what I’ve read, it looks like a GeForce GTX 680 (or perhaps GTX 670) is the way to go. In particular, the ASUS GTX 680-DC2T-2GD5 caught my eye. I believe this is what ASUS calls their DirectCU II TOP video card. In addition to its hefty …

Okay, basically - I have a simulator Projector for the view, monitor for the panel. The panel is the full size of the monitor; everytime I boot up FSX however, I have to drag the view from the monitor to the projector.. Is there a way of saving the view onto the projector rather than having to drag it every time? Thanks Luke

  24. Hi Chaps, I just purchased a second 27" monitor that is paired up with my old 27" (both running at 1920x1080 res). I am trying to get the VC to span across both screens. I have tried everything...both monitors are recognized in the FSX display setting screen, and I have them set up in Win 7 to "extend these displays." I go in to FSX, load up a plane, switch to windowed mode, drag the VC across both screens to fit, and I get the dreaded black screen on the right side monitor. It's a problem of resolution...I can't figure out how to get my computer to see both screens as one large 3840x1080 screen. From what I've read on various forums, it seems that I need to use …

I just got a new ultrathin LG 42" LED TV for FS2004, swapping out my triple DELL LCD display with TH2G. It's lovely to put a 747 on this big screen in spot mode and see everything all at once on a larger scale and with no bezels. And the vertical height of the monitor is great too. Takeoffs are more realistic with much bigger runway views and the resolution is tolerable. Colors are vibrant and very realistic. EWith Flight Environment, the skyscapes are sensational and totally realistic, especially the clouds. I think FS runs smoother as well on just the single monitor than the triple setup, but am still trying to validate this. However, in doing this, I've had to g…
