I'm looking to purchase a good Sim Monitor around 24" give or take. Also I currently have a HP 17". Would it be feasible to keep and use the 17" for maybe showing gauges?

I will hopefully start up building an über rig this summer . I wonder what has the best FPS/screen beauty ratio : a fine resolution (2560*1600; 16:10 to get a large vertical range) which is a boatload of pixels to move about but should call for a lower or maybe no AA at all (?) or a coarser grain (say 1920*1200, also 16:10 but with a little more than half the load ), less pixels but which needs higher AA? Actually I'm strongly tempted by the DELL 16:10 3incher   . Any idea ?

Hi i have tested the OC Edition of the 560 TI from MSI an i really have to say that the GPU runs greats my first time trying Nvidia . After this purchase i have bought several GPU from Nvidia but wawo i don't know if i should blame it on the mini hdmi port but this is the second time that the mini hdmi adapter broke off the Nvidia 560 TI . Why couldn't Nvidia just create a normal hdmi port i run my rigs on HDMI LCDTV Not monitor i mean at lease give us HDMI people a chance an create a nice HDMI port like other GPU has. Anyone have any suggestion of a new purchase of a Mini HDMI Adapter to HDMI port for a 560 TI because this is making me so angry i have just purchase Orbx…

Taiwanese PC maker ASUS dropped this gem yesterday ahead of Computex 2013 -- the PQ321, a professional-grade 31.5-inch 4K monitor. It features a 3840 x 2160-pixel (16:9, 140 ppi) 10-bit RGB (one billion colors) IGZO panel with LED backlight, 176-degree viewing angles, 350 cd/m2 brightness and 8ms GTG response time. Beyond its Ultra HD capability, the monitor comes with built-in stereo speakers (2W) plus height, tilt and swivel adjustments. It's wall-mountable (VESA) and only 35mm thick -- according to ASUS, that makes it the thinnest 4K monitor on the market today. Connectivity includes DisplayPort, 3.5mm audio, RS-232C and, for US models, dual HDMI inputs with picture-in…

Here are links to several reviews of the new GTX 770. TLDNR version is 5-15% faster than GTX680 (both have same chip, 770 faster mem) and will retail at $400 for ref design (limited North America) and $460 for non-reference. Looks like a good deal if you are currently running a NV 5XX or older GPU (even 580) and need an upgrade. Greetings all. (first post here so please be gentle ) Have been reading a lot of the forums etc, and am fairly new to flightsimmimng. I have a new machine, but unfortunately I built the machine before I got well into FSX. I got a non-overclockable chip and a motherboard designed for stability not overclocking (that'll teach me) but even so, I get reasonable frame rates except in areas with large add on airports. As a guide, I am fixed at 30fps and get that in most areas except the airports then it starts to stutter around 9 - 15 fps (yes I have traffic down and settings down to compensate) However, one easy change would be to switch from the ATI grap…

  8. Hey! I have a problem in fsx where suddenly it either stops working or is not responding. It can happen both on startup or cruise. Very annoying to not be able to to any long distance flights without getting an error message. I dont know if its a fsx problem or my specs / system that cant handle it. 9. Hello gentlemen, I currently have some free funds and considering upgrading my GPU. I do have MSI N460GTX Hawk Talon Attack 1GB, which is factory overclocked to its limits. It used to be one of the most powerful 460s on the market. Now I would like to buy 660Ti, also the most overclocked version I could get, and probably with 3GB RAM. The question is: Is it worth it? Will there be any noticeable difference in terms of smoothness, visual quality, etc? What exactly can I expect? Thank you for your opinion.

So, I'm getting the first of two GTX780s tomorrow, and I was just wondering if there was any worth reinstalling FSX after I redo my drivers and all that good stuff? If someone could help me out with how I should go about switching GPUs, that would be awesome Cheers, Aamir

Hey all, Just after some advice - Just doing a fresh install in the next week with either a 680 GTX or the 780 GTX and thinking about trying to set up as best as I can for DX10. I've read some stuff around about how good and smooth it is but I'm worried about compatibility issues. Couple of questions 1. How good is the performance gain really? Are we just talking smoothness or FPS? 2. What addons have issues with DX10? I've read somewhere that alot of the World of AI a/c won't display correctly. Is this correct? Cheers for any advice.

Hi there! I really love the look of the ENB serires, but the constant black screens really drive me mad. Now, I read about Sweet FX and downloaded it. I installed it and deactivated AA within FSX, and so far it works. I haven´t tweaked any settings, but right now, AA isn´t working anymore, Here is a pic of my settings within Nvidia Inspector (the settings within the driver are all set to default): I want to achieve a look like this: Which settings do I have to canhge to get AA working, and does somebody have a setting to share which would lead to similar results? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I run FS2004 with two ATI HD3850 (PCIe) video cards. I have good frame rates (Av 27f/s) with three monitors. One displaying the outside view is connected to one of the ATI's and two other monitors are connected to the other ATI for the overhead and the CDU. I like to connect one more monitor but when I do the frame rates drop too low. Is it possible and will I have an improvement on the framerates when I buy a better ATI video card to replace the first and leave one old HD3850 on the other PCIe slot? I realy don't know if the old card will pull the new one's performance down or not......... Thanks in advance, Erik

  15. When I restarted my computer after an update or two installed, my monitor does not display anymore. I've already tried changing the display type from dvi to avg, but nothing happens, should I do a system restore to the point of the installation or is there something else I should try doing?

  16. Looks like there was a bug in the recent beta drivers (320.14) which prevented X-plane from loading properly on some user's PCs. This has been rectified. Also this driver supports the newly released GTX 780. Link: http://techreport.com/news/24854/whql-certified-geforce-320-18-drivers-now-available

Hi! I have a problem with my FS9 textures and as I don't know if it is a video card or sim problem i post this in both this and the hardware forum. When I start at an airport I get normal texture images, but it pops into blurred repeatedly and I have to refresh scenery. I checked my setup and the NVIDIA Inspector, but settings seem OK. I have a Gigabyte NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 650 Ti card and the PC is absolutely adequate; Intel 3.4 GHZ, enough memory, etc. I am sure it must be a setting somewhere which causes this. Any idea how to fix this problem? Grateful for any tips. Thanks! Hans Hermansson Sweden

Morning folks, my gtx670 ftw is being returned, - amazon have kindly refunded me for my current one till a new one has become available, while allowing me to still use this FTW. I am thinking about changing it to the sig edition, as its been discounted quite a bit(more than 10%) My card has a noisy rattling fan, and wondered if the extra fan on the sig was quiet, - has anyone had problems with the sig edition? how easy are they to clean? Regards Paul

Forum readers, I have been experiencing a problem with my video when changing views. I have a nvidia geforce GTX 560ti and have tweaked as well as using *******'s tweak. This situation does not occur 100% of the time, but still, it is happening. I attempt to recreate, but unfortunately, cannot get it to happen when I want it to. (go figure). I did get a screen shot of it and it is attached. It is a pdf file so it should not pose any problems and give an idea of what is going on. any advice or help is greatly appreciated. thanks

Dear fellow simmers, I have a configuration which I would like to upgrade, but within limits: - I would like to keep FS9. In understand FSX can do more, but I just have many add-ons for FS9 and prefer to invest in hardware. - Would also like to keep Win XP 32, as I am deeply in love with Flight1's Piper Meridian. - Drives, Case, Power Supply are all very nice & high quality, would like to keep them. What I want to avoid is to spend a lot of money on hardware that is too "strong" or too "modern" for FS9 - in other words, that offers features which are useless looking at FS9s relatively old programming structure. I wonder if I can get some advice he…

I recently upgraded my machine to a I5-3570. I've got it overclocked on a ASRock Extreme 6 to 4.4, can't for the life of me do anything to get it past that point. I had a refurbised EVGA 570 card which I really liked, but it died. Hey, it was refurbished and I got it for a good price, what can I say? Anyway, I replaced it with an Asus 660, but I swear the performance is worse. I use Inspector and the same settings as my old card. Am I imagining things or is this card a step down? Where's my bottleneck if I have minimal stutters, my chip not being overclock enough or my video card?
