  1. Hi all- I've been reading but can't quite figure out the best way to do this. Basically, I want 3 monitors; 2 for instrument panels and 1 for 3d view only. Any thoughts on the best way to do this? thanks! Andrew

  2. Hi, I run a EVGA GTX 460 SC card and get Shimmering tuxtures in FS2004. I turn down mip mapping to 4 and it mostly go's away. Do all nVidia cards do this? Would like to run it with a higher mip map setting.

  3. Hello, which one of these cards would perform better in all FSX situations. I am trying to order the card within the next 3 days to stay on my build schedule and I would like an opinion before i commit a large amount of cash to the endeavor. Thank you.

  4. Hi all, After having had a good run with the GTX 285 card for a number of years, I decided when upgrading my hard drive, to also order an EVGA GTX 680 2 GB Signature Plus (with backplate)card. This card is very stable from all accounts and quite given to over-clocking, if you wish to. It comes already over-clocked from the factory. I haven't yet received it, and so while waiting, was wondering what upgrade to the visual video experience I could expect with FSX, from upgrading from a nVidia 200 series card to a high end 600 series? I have enjoyed the visuals on my 200 series, but am ignorant of what a GTX680 can bring to the table as I have never seen one runni…

Hi all, I was thinking that I wanted to pass on what I needed to do to install the EVGA Signature Plus (02G-P4-2685-KR) into a Dell 730x system with stock motherboard. Because the system has a large capacity to install the longest of video cards, my GTX 285 had a Dell attached metal fin/holder that placed itself into a front inside slot (for this purpose) to hold up the back end of the card and give it support. I found the GTX 680 to not have the same pre-drilled screw pattern that was required for the fin back plate, so I came up with the idea to use a measured length of soft brass brazing rod, which has at both ends layered square bits of duct tape. Using the…

I have heard from several sources that FSX only supports one video card but looking at this forum it seems several people are using 2 in SLI or crossfire mode.At present I have an NVidia GTX260 and 2 monitors. I use one for main view and the second for overhead/CDU/pedestal etc. (I like flying PMDG 747).I would like to have a 4 screen set-up, 3 for the main forward view and the fourth for the overhead panel etc.So I am looking for a definitive answer as to whether SLI and Crossfire work with FSX. Having read many forums I am not convinced about the Matrox Triplehead Go option. All repies gratefully receivedKen

Does anyone know of one? I bought a new LED monitor, and GPU, did a by the book sweep and reinstall off drivers and fsx. Used the guide to set it up to the T like I had before with no issues, and now NI does not effect my game at all. It doesn't look horrible but I can not for the life of me get rid of jaggies on wing edges and runway and taxi lines. It is driving me nuts as I had none if these problems with my 560. I have all the settings like they are suppose to be to get NI to work and even tried deleting and making a new fsx profile with no success. Almost to the point of just uninstalling it this is becoming so frustrating. Any help or suggesti…

  12. This is a picture of my 4 month old EVGA GTX 660 Superclocked GPU. I have been very pleased with the performance of this card until... It quit working on Friday night. I had just departed from EGLL in a 738 NGX on a DOVER3 departure headed for EHAM when FSX locked up - I thought this was strange because this very rarely happens on my system. Once I was back onto my desktop Windows 7 displayed a message that read something like "The video drivers have crashed but have successfully recovered". Shortly after that message the display began to flash and become distorted until it went away all together. After manually rebooting I was able to use the display enou…

Hi, I finally solved my 27" monitor resolution problem thanks to my recent post of the problem. One suggestion was to "adjust scaling options". I have the EWVGA GTX 275-1792 mb card which is overclocked. I solved my problem by setting the 1920X1080 res within the NVIDIA Control Center. I had tried to within Windows but that did not work. Is this something I still have to do? Thanks. Tom

  14. Hi, I just bought a new Samsung 27" S27B550V monitor for a better FSX experience but am having trouble with the resolution. After hooking the monitor up and installing the monitor driver, the screen image takes up the center of the screen with a black border of several inches around it like a picture frame. I tried to stretch the image with the image size controls but that did not work. I checked the settings in Windows Control Panel and it says I have the recommended resolution of 1920X1080 correctly set. I tried other settings in the pull down window and 1280/720 fits my whole screen, although a little fuzzy. I checked with a guy at Best Buy and he said it's probab…

I installed the new 314.07 drivers yesterday. I heard some weird whistle or high-pitched screaming coming from my computer but didn't think anything of it. I took a flight last night and in the middle of the flight I was rebooted. During the flight I have headphones on but could still hear the whining/screaming/whistle thingy. I think these drivers were overloading something in my 570GTX. I reverted back to 310.90 and the sound is gone and so far no crashes. Anyone else try these drivers?

Hi, I'm looking for help in deciding which graphics card to upgrade to. My choices are the GTX 670 2gb, or the HD 7950 3gb. Or is it worth going for the next step up and go for GTX 680 2g or the HD 7970 3gb. I have 3x22inch monitors running 1680 x 1050. I know FSX is more CPU bound but when running three screens I will need the card to go with a high processor.

Hi, I have just upgraded to a triple sceen setup and am getting very poor frame rates. I didnt know of any special fsx tweaks to help this. I have an I7 860 oc to 3.8ghz, 8 gb ddr3 ram at 1600, twin GTX460 Asus 768mb graphic cards running three 22inch monitors at 5040x1050 resolution. I have nvidia inspector set up. My FSX config has the usual, poolsize, rejectthreshold, texturemaxload, texture_bandwidth_mult and Fiber_frame_time_fraction tweaks. Anybody have anymore things that might help.

Hello everyone, After numerous attempts to get 'Airdisplay' to work on a stable basis I just gave up to have my FMC relocated to my ipad. Today however, one of my friends showed me his ipad connected to his PC by means of another little app called 'Xdisplay'. You can find the webpage here: http://www.splashtop.com/home There is a demoversion that works for about ten minutes at a time so that is what I did today. And guess what... it works. And I found that the app at the moment only costs about 5 dollar. There is hardly any loss (1) of framerate, is, as far as my testing reached today, quite stable so for now I think I have spent my 5 dollar wisely. Tomo…

Hi guys, I'm just debating with myself whether it's a worthwhile upgrade or not for my browsing PC which is also used for video/movie watching and music listening to go from the onboard Intel GMA 4500 to something basic like a GF210, GT430 or GT610 and it must be low profile. Would also consider Radeon 6450, 5450, 5570 etc. This would be running on an E7500 Core2Duo, 6GB Ram with output currently to a 24" Asus VE248H, so not worried about 3D or anything like that. From looking around I'm struggling to find if I'd see any benefit. The PC is not used for gaming at all since I have my other rig for that. I just bought new soundcards for my gaming PC and …
