After I got new motherboard from ASUS many months ago almost all my games got huge amount of jagged edges and general anti-aliasing problems. For example in Skyrim in game AA doesn't seem to work at all, only thing I found to remove jagged edges from it is setting AA to super sample from ATI Catalyst control center and that makes FPS drop to unplayable levels. Same goes with other games too, with most of them only setting AA to super sample (and giving away way too much FPS) seems to help. I've also generally tried to play with about all the possible settings in catalyst control center, nothing seems to fix these problems properly although I've got some not so graphic…

Not sure if this the best place to ask this question--I can think of several places but I guess I'll start here. I'm finding that whenever I fly the Eaglesoft Citation X, on about a third of my flights, I get either a black screen, CTD, or an external model that is partially transparent. Many times, my screen looks like this; I'm not sure what the catalyst is for this problem. It seems to happen sometimes when I switch views, or if I exit the sim to the desktop via ALT + TAB and then return to the sim. Other times, it occurs for no reason at all--the sim just freezes. I thought it might be FSInn but its happened twice on me without any connection to VATSIM. …

Hi! I think I made a mistake by buying a Gigabyte Radeon HD7750 1GB for my FS2004. I missed reading tests of cards and found out on one site that Gigabyte Geforce cards would give consirably better fps, so now I wonder if anyone could tip me on this: I plan to, foolishly have to buy another/better card and I am into the following: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 650 OC 2GB, or Gigabyte Geforce GTX 650TI 1GB. Anyone have any experience with those? The tests I read suggest they give better performance than the Radeon HD7750. Grateful for tips and comments......... Thanks! Hans Hermansson Sweden

Greetings All, I am not all that computer savy so I have a quick question. What would be the best recommended video card for this computer? -Intel i3 quad core 2.93 -6 gb ram I currently have a Radeon HD 5700 card. It is ok, but wondering if there is something out there that I can get a little more performance from. I think that cpu is most likely the weak link in this case, but just want a video card that will give me the best performance based upon the limitations of the CPU. Thanks Scott

Hi, Is there a way to prevent Windows 7 from automatically updating my Display driver? I have Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit- SP 1 and MS Flight Sim X. After purchasing several Carenado aircraft I noticed my instrument gauges would randomly double up and overlap each other. After posting the problem on the Carenado forum it was suggested that I try the NVIDIA 270.61 driver (dated April 7, 2011) that the author said gave him no problems. He also had the same card as me, the GTX -275. Sure enough, I downloaded and installed the driver and it worked fine also curing the weird graphics problem. Recently I noticed the problem was back. Sure enough, somehow my driver ve…

Hey folks, I'm able to make FSX run quite well on lower settings with bloom enabled. This is only for default aircrafts and CLS add ons. Under graphics, everything is maxed except for water (low 2x), Autogen (sparse), Scenery Complexity (normal). With the CLS MD-80 at Aerosoft's Palma De Mallorca with high UT2 ai, all road and airport vehicles turned on, I get pretty consistent 24fps (min I saw was 18-19). This is still playable for me, but I still haven't tested PMDG. The thing is, I'm hooked on the bloom. I love the effects but my landscape is less 3d now with low autogen and scenery complexity. I heard that bloom relies on the graphics card. I'm currently run…

I just to a quick look at the Hardware guide that was recently posted. For my CPU (I7-2600K@ 4.6GHZ) the guide recommends a GTX560 or 660 GPU. I am currently running a GTX480. Am I likely to see any significant performance boost in FSX to justify the cost of the upgrade? Thanks in advance.

I consider replacing my current GTS250 1 G with the following http://www.dustinhome.se/product/5010651174/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-650-oc-2gb-pci-e-vga-dvi-hdmi/ It's budget price but I reason since my current card is so obsolete I might expect significant performance improvement. If I get it would my FSX setup be CPU or GPU limited? Going up in price I found this as interesting http://www.dustinhome.se/product/5010651176/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-660-oc-2gb-pci-e-dvi-hdmi-dp/#intcmp=searchProvider_dacsa How much difference could that make in FSX compared to my first suggestion ? I first ask about FSX but I also have other games and maybe XPlane 10 in mind.

Hi, I just wanted to share my going-over these two displays with you guys.. Please note that is how I saw the monitors in the store! And this is a comparison between the two and not a review "I don't own any of them YET" ## DELL S2340M - Pros: o The colors are so alive and far from any PC monitor I’ve seen before o Sharp and crisp pictures o Wide viewing angles o Stylish with very elegant gray bezel at the bottom o Reasonably priced ($165~$199 at the time of this review) o IPS panel - Cons o I strained so much to make the monitor show WHITE but I couldn’t. Tried it with warm & cool and with every setting available, it just show “yellowish tinted WHITE…

Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone had upgraded to the latest catalyst who are also using the radeon 5770? I use this card myself and catalyst 12.2 with no real issues. The latest catalyst appears to only offer benefits for the 7xxx series,at least on paper.Any thoughts? Cheers, Steve

Still waiting for this card, damn weather. This is a simple question, what are the advantages of upgrading to this ? I have read that you get more FPS in "graphics related scenarios ", apart from clouds what other are the other increases I can hope to see ? I already manage 2xSGSS in nvidia inspector, is being able to run a higher setting visually that much of an improvement ? Interested to hear what the gurus on this forum say about this. Thanks Paul

Finally saved up enough to upgrade from my aging HD5870 1gb to a 660TI. I am trying to decide between the MSI 660TI with 2gb and the MSI 660TI with 3gb. Besides the memory, the main difference is the clock speed. 1019MHz for the 2gb and 967MHz for the 3gb. Price difference is about 30 euro (more for the 3gb), so that's not really of any relevance. Any opinions which I should take? Edit: my monitor is a 22" 1680x1050 and I'm considering a future upgrade to 24" 1920x1080. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

From the date on most threads it would appear that I am a little late to the FXAA show. What I have found is that I get the desired effects when running FSX in WINDOWED but as soon as I go to FULL SCREEN it's just back to looking like it always has. Not finding any helpful threads on this matter. Help appreciated.

Here is the issue. I'm flying for a couple hours (the aircraft doesn't matter) and I'll go to change the flight plan or anything requiring going off the flight for a bit and when I come back to the flight I have no video, just a black screen. The program is still running, I have audio and ATC works but no Video and it won't come back. This doesn't happen every time but enough to be really annoying. I can't pin it to any one flight or conditions. I recently had to reinstall windows and reinstalled FSX along with everything else. I didn't have this issue before the reinstall. I use Nvidia Inspector and use the recommended 4xs settings. I'm using Bojotes config recommend…

Thanks for taking a look at this post! I'm new to the board and new to FSX. I'd like to upgrade my gpu and was wondering if anyone was willoing to help me pick the right card. Here's my setup: Dell Inspiron 530s (SLIM) Intel Core 2 Duo E8300 @ 2.83 GHz Dell 0RY007 Motherboard P35/G33/G31 Chipset 3GB DDR2 RAM G33/G31 GPU 128 MB I'm pretty sure I have a 250w PSU. I got my 737 hardware based sim back to a flyable state once again. With the space limitation of the new location, I had to sell off the projectors and got with large format TVs so I only cover the forward windows and one of the two side windows in the 737. I'll end up blacking out the back one on each side. I'm running a full set of hardware so I have no need for the cockpit displays on my screen, my Displays are driven by ProSim off another PC at the moment with the exception of the Lower EICAS which is running off a GT610 PCI card. I have an i7-2600, 12GB and was running dual GTX275s. For displays I'm running three 60" Panasonic Plasma's for a surround r…

Hey all, I run FSX on Windows 7 64bit, i have a system that runs FSX really really well in terms of frames that are based on the settings and CFG edits posted by Kostas. Now one thing that is happening way to often is the sudden freezing, basically during the start of sim play, FSX will freeze occasionally and audio will crash in a looped irritating tone, and the only way to get out/fix this is to hard reboot the PC.....LONG and annoying and difficult to narrow down the cause. Now i suspect i might have a sound card issue here, my drivers are up to date but even when i first got the PC in July 2012 i wasnt oeverwhelmed with the sound card performance anyway bu…

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with over clocking this card within Nvidia inspector? I can open show max clocks and push it up a bit but how far is to far? I've pushed it up to 920/1840/1625 but is there an option to adjust the fan speed as it stay's grey out and unable to adjust it. I haven't seen any major increase in temperature's at all, if somebody has any views on this subject it would greatly appreciated. Cheers Rod.
