Hi There, I have been having a sporadic issue whereby for no reason my FPS will drop from a locked 30 to below 10. What normally happens is the screen suddenly goes black then the FPS drop happens. I normally fly in VC using EZDOK. The strange thing is that if I hit ALT + Enter then go back to full screen it normally resolves the problem. Sometimes I just have to change to a different view then back again which can also clear the problem. I normally fly the excellent PMDG 737NGX but it has also happened a couple of times with stock MS aircraft. When I launch FSX and use 1 monitor with TrackIr5 (5.2), I am centered in the VC and look forward as I should. When I change the Nvidia settings to surround view with 3 (identical) monitors and center TrackIr5, I am off centered to the left about 45 degrees and have the left doorpost in front of me. I use to have EZdok and set my view with their cameras, but have been unsuccessful at making it work with TrackIr on the new rig with W8. Any ideas why this is happening?

Okay I run GTX 480s in SLI ( I know the stories about heat) Didn't matter before as I was running them in a very open room. Now I have them in a smaller room, coupled with another computer running dual nvidia cheapie video cards (can't remember). My questions is as I've never looked into Video Card Coolers and I'm wondering If I purchase a Video card cooling system would it lower the room temperature or just cool the video card and sling the heat back into the room? Anyone have any experience or suggestions?

I currently have two Ati 5870's at 1GB each in my case each powered by two 6 pin connectors for a total of four 6 pin connectors. I am going to a single EVGA GTX680 4GB which requires one 8 pin and one 6 pin connection. Is it ok to use the included two 6 pin to one 8 pin adapter that comes with the card and one of the other two 6 pin connectors and then leave the other last one dangle in the case unconnected? Hey everyone. I am on the process of upgrading my computer I already upgraded my mother board RAM and my processor. I am currently on An I7 2600K 3.8 8GB RAM Windows 7 64 bit. Fsx Sp2 Nvidia 9800GT I know off the bat that my video card is not sufficient enough for fsx and I will be upgrading to the 660Ti but for the next few weeks I won't be able to. So my question is how can I set up Nvidia inspector so that I don't loose so many frame rates when I am flying around heavy clouds by REX should I change my anti aliasing settings or does anyone have a recommendation on to what I should set inspector maybe lower my resolution on the Rex clouds to 2048.

I am not getting any audio from HDMI. I am using Windows 7 64 bit, Gigabyte 970 motherboard, a Vizio plasma tv connected directly to my Evga Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 GPU via HDMI cable. In the control panel - audio devices the Vizio tv shows up but is listed as not plugged in. Obviously it is physically plugged in and working becuase my display works but no audio. I tried uplugging and reconnecting the HDMI cable and when I do that the audio works, however, the resolution of the display becomes distorted. Then when I switch imputs on the display from HDMI to a TV channel and then back to HDMI the audio goes away again but the resolution is fixed and goes back to normal. I h…

EDIT - Just realized the title was wrong, should be 2560x1440 Hey all, I currently am running FSX on a 22" monitor @ 1680x1650. I am looking into getting a 27" Catlep/Crossover IPS panel that runs @ 2560x1440. My question is will my GTX670 FTW with 2GB of memory will continue to run the sim with similar FPS at the higher resolution or should I look into a card with more memory?

Hello guys, I want to buy another monitor not just for fsx but for other game too. The thing is I want to extend the monitor but use one to get fsx in full screen, and the other one for the charts, dispacher text and such. So, my question is: does fsx minimize when i click on another window in the other monitor, or it stays in full screen? does anyone use it like that? I currently use FSX in windowed mode and it runs fine but at full screen run better, the thing is I have a lot to check on preflight (I don't have an Ipad or tablet), and also on long flight i like to surf the web or do other stuff. Hi, I really need help, i bought new pc a few weeks ago and i noticed that something is weird ... my specs: SSD 128 gb : FSX and OS on it. + 1 TO hard disk I5 3570k msi gtx 660 twin frozr asrock z77 pro3 Hyper 212 evo 2*4 gb ram 1600 mhz. First, people say that a freshly installed FSX is the most smooth, for me, on the contrary it was full of stuttering and blurred. I had to config my FSX.cfg, NE , all the stuff for get a decent FPS. But i still didn't fix some problems: I still have some stuttering. I have shimmering (not important) and tearing : even Adaptive Vsync 1/2 refresh doesn't fix tearing ! I realize this seems like an endless topic, however, just to confirm what opinions might be based on these newer video cards, I'm trying to decide wether or not to go with the Matrox triple2Go or just connect the 3 - 28" LCD's direct to my Gigabyte GTX660 OC GPU using the NVidia Surround utility. I'm assuming if I go direct, I should do it with 3 HDMI cables. My CPU (980X-4.2) can handle either method but I'm mostly concerned with getting the best frame rates which up to lately has always been a big problem when connecting 3 monitors directly to a GPU.

Seems I've run into a spot of bother since hooking up my second monitor in windows 8. My usual 30fps drops to 3. Returns to normal when entering windowed mode or disconnecting second monitor. Any thoughts on a fix? Thanks. I have already rebuilt my fsx.cfg. Cheers.

Hi All I am planning on buying a 680 in the next few weeks. Can somebody please help me decide which one is the best for fsx? I am unsure about the following 2 things, 6208MHz GDDR5 and GPU 1084MHz values. All cards, even from same manufacturer have different values for these two settings. I understand the higher these are the better the card should be-the confusion is some expensive cards have lower values for these. It would be nice if somebody could recommend a particular card in the lower price band. I am in UK.I am thinking of buying from scan. Does someone have one to sell? I am looking forward to your help. Recently, due to a nasty virus, I was obliged to re-install Windows7 on my PC, along with FSX. Needless to say, I had to re-install everything on my system, all over again. I downloaded and installed the FSX service packs but found my visuals to be lacking. Specifically, I have a lot of jagged edges as if the AA isn't working. I downloaded Nhancer but couldn't get it to work (its my understanding that it is no longer supported). Hi All, I have recently built a very nice FSX PC which is running smooth as silk using Word Not Allowed's excellent tutorials. My primary display is a 27" Asus and I have a spare Samsung 23" which I would like to use for my flight display panels. I can get everything working but with the 2 monitors connected my FPS drop to around 7 from 30. My i5 3570K is Overclocked to 4.6 and I have an Asus GTX660 TI. I thought I would have been able to add a 2nd monitor just to use for displaying the panels with my rig. Hi, I am using eyefinity with two displays (20" LED / and a 15" SyncMaster) @2500x900 resolution without any frame loss. I just need some suggestion what would be the best position for the 15" - put it below the 20" and make it the pit or horizontal and let it extend the view. It was amazing when I extended the view just wow. I will be getting at least two 20" LED lit once I upgrade to an Intel purely for FSX / XPX. Would be nice if members having an Eyefinity or Nvidia surround could post there setup pics.

I have an HP desktop with an I5. Video card is ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 series. I upgraded to windows 8 and I am having problems. Current video driver installed is 8.970. I install and use the AMD driver detect program and it says use AMD Catalyst 12.6 Legacy Driver for Windows 8. This runs the AMD Catalyst install manager. After 30 seconds I get the message Installation complete but with Warnings. When I view the warnings log, it says "This file does not gave a program associated with it for performing this action. Hello, Just installed my new card today and doing some testing. Looking for any help with the Nvidia Inspector settings. I have them set to Kostas recommendations right now but curious if I can use higher settings and if so some examples.My computer specs are in my info. So far using Kostas guide to the letter, first flight from Ksfo with flight beam KSFO airport I was getting 15 to 23 fps in NGX cockpit even in flight. Outside views were pegged at 30fps.. I use TrackIR so a response time of at most 2ms is required. Hi I don't know how to explain that .. i have a GTX 660 msi twinfrozr, my textures in FSX are "waving" "undulating" when i turn camera, i have the same issue in Cities XL, My lod negative thing is switched "clamp".
