Maybe someone else has experimented on using the two. Wondering if there is a noticeable performance difference between the two? DId a search on comparisms, but the only information came from Nvidia Surrounds launch and the drivers were not stable at the time and there was alot of confusion between NV3d and Surround.I have GTX 480s in SLI, but the TH2GO requires SLI be disabled. Sooo I have a GTX480 doing nothing (not that FSX benefits from SLI). Anybody chuck TH2GO for Nvida's Surround?

  2. I have a GTX 580. Upgraded from 285.76 which worked fine. Now only when I am in full screen mode, in the 2D cockpit as I change views I get this odd flickering as if the computer repaints different views about 10 times before choosing the view I am trying to get. it is very annoying. In windowed mode the transition to the new view is instant with no flicker. Anyone else experiencing this or know why this might be happening? I turned V synch on and off and am using the same settings as before {not using inspector yet] Nothing seems to make it go away. Thanks Greg

Alright fellow simmers. It's upgrade time again and as promised I will be joining the nVidia ranks. So... EVGA 04G-P4-3685-KR GeForce GTX 680 FTW Standard, w/Backplate 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - In Stock! or EVGA 04G-P4-3687-KR GeForce GTX 680 FTW+ w/Backplate 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Not In Stock! Considerations: Price difference is negligible. I realize this card is likely overkill for FSX but, "Nothing succeeds like excess." Not sure when Newegg will have the "+" version in stock and I am in no real rush to buy. What say you nVidia experts?…

  11. Hi I currently ran FSX on 2 monitors in full sceen on EVGA GTX570HD works perfect. I would like to buy another card... maybe a lower end GTX560 and install it in the second PCIE slot then have other monitors hooked to it, is it possible...? Does anyone have this set up like that? If possible could the second card run in window mode to use for other things or would all four monitors switch to FULL SCREEN MODE? Provided this set up is even possbile. Second option would be getting higer end card, but at any rate the main question is would this even work? What is the downside to it if any? Proposed what i would like to do: EVGA-GTX570HD and EVGA-GTX560Ti or EVG…

Hey Guys, I'm not new to FS but I'm getting back into FSX after a couple years away. I build my own systems so their always in state of upgrade it seems Here's what I'm running now: Intel 2500k OC'd 4.4 with a Coolermaster 212evo EVGA 660ti MSI 67a-gd55 mobo 16gb Corsair vengence @ 1600mhz 3x23" Acer P236h monitors I reinstalled FSX using the proper methods and followed the new guide for tweaking the .cfg, etc. Here's my hang up: FSX runs GREAT in single screen mode at 1920x1080. However, if I change the resolution to 5760x1080 and go full screen then while in the cockpit I try to bring up a panel with shift+2, etc, etc. the frames drop to about 10 a…

What is the difference between a EVGA 670 card and a GeForce GTX 670?

  15. Started by learn-by-flying,

Long story short I am getting a new gaming PC sometime in March, I currently have dual NVIDIA 9800GTs in my desktop which struggle to handle FSX. Lately I've been OCing one of the cards by 10% so instead of its default values of GPU Clock - 600mhz Memory Clock - 900mhz Shader Clock - 1500mhz They are GPU clock - 660mhz Memory Clock - 990mhz Shader Clock - 1650mhz I've been only OCing the card which has the high GPU load from FSX, the cards temp hovers around 82-84c when FSX is running. When the one card is OCed FSX runs much better and I average 22-24 FPS and not a fluxuating 14-20 FPS. Is this going to hurt anything? Will it be better to overclock bot…

Hi Everyone, I have a question? Can a single Nvidia GFX card support a 3 monitor setup like ATI cards does? If so, which card is recommended. Regards

  17. I currently have the following memory and video card: Video: EVGA GTX 570 1280MB Memory: DDR3 1600 CL9 I saw some recommendations and wondered if I switched to the following memory and video cards if it would make much difference: ASUS GTX 660TI 2GB DDR3 2133 CL9 With my current hardware performance is pretty good but I see significant FPS drops and stutters in complex scenery or heavy clouds and would like to smooth that out as much as possible. I've already OC'ed my CPU, done all the Kostas tweaks and balanced my settings as much as I can. I'm working my way up to more complex simulations, so eventually hope to be able to fly with the PMDG aircraft or on…

  18. I really can't make up my mind. Any advice is welcome. Option 1:Dell Ultrasharp U2713HM (550 euro) 2560x1440 px. + Needs less space on my desk - Less visibility then 3 screens + Less performance hit then 3 screens i think + Bigger screen is also nicer for normal windows work - when zooming out more, the widescreen effect on 1 monitor looks works then on 3 monitors that are placed at a slight angle of each other Option 2: 3x 25inch LG E2541T-BN (420 euro) 5760x1080 + broadest view - performance hit in FSX? - still same windows resolution is i currently have - centre screen is smaller (and i'm looking most of the time at that one..) (- needs ATI eyefini…

I currently have an Nvidia GTX 580 Graphics card mounted in my system and I also use Nvidia Inspector, but I seem to be having some problems with the graphics in FSX, for example, yesterday I was flying the Aerosoft Katana 4X over ORBX scenery, and when I selected the map view, everything was ok, but when I switched back to the V.C everything was black. Switching through the different views, spot etc, I eventually ended up with views of the aircraft against a black background, and then ended up with several different views of the aircraft! I ended the flight, and the picture of the aircraft on the selection screen had a lot of its parts missing, canopy, wheel spats and pa…

  22. As with most people, Im struggling to get FSX frames smooth. Im not looking for anything dramatic, just smooth non stuttering flight. 25FPS is all we need to see. Despite the enormous amount of fsx tweaks and guides, I still struggle and this is a machine I just built recently, with an I5 2500k overclocked to 4.5 and temps are solid 45deg running fsx. My fault is when building i went with an ATI Radeon 6870 card which in itself is an excellent performing card and was great value at the time. I got a smoking deal on it. However it seems that this may be a bottleneck as all the gurus are using nvidia cards. Will switching it out to an equal performing nvidia make …

Hi all I'm thinking of upgrading my 24 inch Samsung monitor to a 32 inch 1080p Samsung or LG monitor. Is anyone else running a 32inch monitor ? I'm running my original 18 month old GTX 460 . Is there an actual correlation between the monitor size 'allowable' and the video card? Thanks Eric
