  1. I was experiencing some issues with FSX the other day and I thought that I would update my nVidia driver from 301.24 to the latest WHQL release for my GTX570 Superclocked GPU. I thought that I would go with a fresh install by deleting the driver then clean up using driver cleaner pro. After rebooting and installing the new driver I reconfigured nVidia Inspector, deleted the FSX.cfg and upon trying to start FSX I received the following message: "Invalid Hardware or Driver Detected This graphics card does not meet minimum requirements for shader support. This product requires a geForce3/Radeon8500 class or better graphics card." The only way to remedy this was to…

Hey guys, I am having some issues with my graphics card and FSX. I suspect it to be the drivers, as I recall reading a thread here earlier in big all cap letters saying, "Stay away from these drivers." I am not sure if it is related but I am here to see what the group thinks. I am getting a code "Error 3" "The Nvidia OpenGL driver detected a problem wiith the display driver and is unable to continue. The application must close. Error Code 3." Driver Version 13.142 date is 05/15/2012. Is there a better driver around, any ideas on what to do here guys?

Occasionally after boot-up my Samsung display shows blurred desktop icons and text. The situation is rectified after re-booting. We had a severe summer thunder storm back in August and I am wondering if a close lightening strike may have damaged the display. When I say close it was lightening then the thunder clap which was instantaneous. I don't think it's the video card as I figure that I would have experienced trouble with the other system components inside the computer. Are LED displays that sensitive to lightening?

Hi, Recently I began to notice that my monitor is ghosting around the bezel when in a dark room at night. - This is quite irratating because when I come in on a late night approach, I have these silly little gray/white bleedthroughs on the corners/edges of my monitor. So, in a pursuit to fix this, I am now in the market for a new display. My budget is $250-400. I am looking for a 27inch 1080P display, with great colors and one wont have this "ghosting" effect. Any help would be appreciated. Ben

As some of you would have noticed a review has been posted on this card. Can anyone confirm how much better it is over a 580 when just using a single monitor?? My understanding was that the 690 is the equivalent of two 680s SLI'd internally.

I'm running a Dell 21.5" monitor for FSX w/ Radeon 4350 vid card. I'd like to have a smaller (inexpensive) additional monitor for alternately kneeboard items (primarily checklists and navlog) and small GPS window such as below in panel.cfg. Hello, I am still using my trusty GTX 285 with 195.81 drivers and NHancer. My settings are based on Bojote's and Nick's settings and they have not been change for a couple years. I have noticed that there have been some improvements over the years and I think I'd like to implement some of these improvements. Most of the recommendations for drivers and switching to NVIDIA Inspector reference newer video cards. Does anyone have a any suggestions for my card? Thanks.

Hi guys, I'm trying to setup a 3 moniter display but can only get 2 monitors recognized by my system  I have an AMD Radeon HD 7950 3Gb with 2x mini DisplayPort 1x HDMI and 1x DVi ports. I can only get a combination of any 2 ports to work at any one time using either the normal windows monitor setup or Catalyst Control Center. The attached images below show only 2 monitors selected and the 3rd greyed out and am unable to extend the desktop to it or save it. All three monitors are the same Dell E207WFP's and all drivers are up to date Apart from going for the expensive option of getting a Matrox TripleHead2Go, I'm open to any suggestions :give_rose: …

Hello guys I think I will need some help. I don't know what is happening but I'm stucked at 15fps no more and no less ... ROCK and SMOOTH 15 FPS even if I remove everything 15FPS. it is like FSX is taking the hand on the FPS and I cannot change anything... strange. I have deleted fsx.cfg. Tried everything.... Here is my SLI config, I used one from someone who has SLI working... don't know why mine doen't I was having 30fps Locked and Smooth but as soon as I put the second card it drops directly to 15fps (no more no less)... It seems that I have fixed it (so for your information) I Desactivate SLI - re-start - use Windowed VSYNC FIX (without it no FPS …

  14. Hi guys, I just bought another monitor and installed an old Nvidia card together with my newer Nvidia 560 Ti. The simulator runs in just on a single screen, and I use to other screens for supporting systems. The problem is that the settings in Nvidia inspector no longer seem to stick. I have a profile set up okay, and everything would before I added the second graphics card. I tried moving all my settings to global profile, but that didn't help. Well, the frame limiting suddenly started working (locked at 30 FPS), but none of my AA settings are in effect. My only option at this point is to turn on the internal AA which doesn't look very good. Does anyone have …

  16. Hi All Withmy new shiny FSX-dedicated computer and my three screens I was looking forward to some fun flying. But I was not ready for the 2D panels failing when using 3 screens :-( With help from various forums I have got the default planes working. But I am stuck withthe DA Fokker 70/100. This plane has no VC - it only has a number of (very nice!) 2D views. I have set all widths to 0.333 and many work but I cannot get the overhead panels to open at all and the circling cursor is presnt all the time :-( Has anyone worked ont he panesl for this aircraft and can help me? Its a lovely sim....I hope I can get it running! John L

Today Nvidia released the rest of their product lineup. This includes the GTX660 and GTX650. ARTICLE Quoted from the PCMAG Article: "The GTX 660, which Nvidia estimates will be available for about $229 list, uses 960 CUDA parallel processing cores and 80 texture units, and a 980MHz base clock that can boost to an average of 1,033MHz. The card is loaded with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM that runs over a 192-bit memory interface and, like the other 600-series cards, has a memory clock of 6,008MHz."

  20. Hey all, Is anyone using a touchscreen as their primary display? I'm considering using one for the panel, but am unsure of whether they "play nice", e.g. if I can sensibly adjust knobs/sliders/etc. I assume pushbuttons are OK? Part of the consideration is whether or not touchscreens work with RealityXP instrumentation like the 430. Any guidance/advice appreciated- thanks, Andrew

Hi everyone, I'm considering buying a new monitor because right now I have a slightly outdated one. I've found one that looks promising, its an Asus 27" with a built in camera which is good for skyping family and it says it has a 2ms response time.....my question is, i've seen other monitors saying things like 3ms response time and even 8ms, is the quality better as it increases or worse? Bearing in mind the monitor will be for FSX use. What are your suggestions for a new monitor. My budget is around $350 and I'd like up to 27"

I am considering buying a BenQ monitor in the GW series. Either 24"" or 27". They come with a VA panel type. It appears that they are in between TN and IPS panels in terms of quality however may suffer on the response time side of things. Has anybody here had experience running FSX and a VA monitor? Appreciate any feedback Regards Jock McIntyre

Hi Everyone, This is a warning to anyone with Kepler cards who is considering upgrading to the new 305.68 Nvidia WHQL Driver. These drivers have caused major issues with the new GTX660Ti for many users. LINK LINK -Crashes -BSODS/RSODS (Red Screen of Death) -Flickering, Artifacts -Throttling Thankfully, I reverted back to an old driver and my issues are gone. I just don't want anyone else to be getting these drivers because they are notorious to screw things up with Kepler.
