Just a heads up to anyone with a ATI 7xxx series. I got really great improvement using the above mentioned drivers with my 7870( i5-2550). I usually got between 9-15 fps at KJFK with all settings to the right except for autogen and complexity that I always leave at dense. After trying the new drivers I am getting between 18 and 29 with addon traffic( 45 on ga and 45 on commercial).I also use rex essential. I hope someone else can try them and post results :wub:

Hi All, I'm thinking about upgrading from a PNY 1GB 9800 Pro to a GTX 560.I run a Q9550 overclocked to 3.45GHZ with XP 64 bit.I run both FS9 and FSX. Will I see significant speed and visual quality improvements with this switch?Enough to justify the money? Thanks Stan

Is there a way of running two monitors in full screen and being able to run REX, FS Build, and drag the CDU to the 2nd monitor, It only works in windowed mode, as soon as I go to full screen the 2nd monitor just goes black Thanks in advance for any replies edmundo

Hi All, I will be transitioning today to a pair of EVGA GTX 680 4GB FTWs from my 2 Sapphire HD6950 2GB Dirt 3 Editions. Yesterday I made the error of updating my drivers on the ATI cards and it disabled Win7 Aero theme compatibility. This is frustrating in the extreme but at least they didn't light on fire. So what I need is a good checklist for getting the old ATI stuff cleared out, getting the right nVidia drivers in, and getting these cards happy with FSX. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Dan

Hi I purchased myself a second screen this week so I could have a set up where I could run Prepar3D on my main screen and have Plan G or FSC on the second screen for navigation. What I have noticed is that while running the two monitors I get a slight tearing on the main screen while panning around, inside or out but this does not happen if I only use the main monitor (second one switched off ). My first screen is a Dell E248FWP set at a resolution of 1920x1200 and my second screen is HKC with a maximum resolution of 1920x1080. hi, i have had the radeon 6950 for about 6 months now, with three monitors connected in an eyefinity set up. up until about two weeks ago all was fine. i had to reinstall windows 7 on my computer (8gb RAM), and once i did that, i also reinstalled the drivers for the 6950 (catalyst 12.8 i believe). since then however, i have been having issues with the monitor connected to the DVI port on the card. there will be a random flicker where the monitor goes black for about 2-3 seconds, then turn back on. the interval this happens is totally random. i have tried reinstalling the drivers, i have tried downgrading to previous drivers, all with no luck. any ideas on how i can fix th…

I've had the Matrox TH2GO for years on 3 19" conventional monitors and have been very satisfied with that set-up. Now, I'm hearing about the value of a single 30" or 40" HDTV in lieu of the triple monitor set up I know there are other posts in this forum with no shortage of comments about which is better. Hi I have upgraded to a 27" Dell U2711 monitor, I run a 2nd dell 17" monitor to drag CDU, REX, & FS Build to, since installing the 27" dell I have lost some frame rate, would It be better adding a second Graphics card to run the 2nd small Dell monitor, and hopefully that would put my frame rates back up again? I couldn't decide between Gigbyte Radeon HD 7950 v.s. MSI GTX 660 Ti Power edition (priced the same). So i got them both and ran them through standard 70 second test scenario in FSX and Prepar3d (a landing on my home airport EHHV, with a somewhat demanding Katana and very demanding NL2000 photo scenery). And the results are in: FSX: 34 FPS for the 660, 32 FPS 7950 P3D: 46 FPS for the 660, 30 FPS for the 7950. Having followed Word Not Allowed's guide to the letter ( and I'm very grateful) I have greatly improved my FSX performance with one exception,there is terrible cockpit and foreground shimmering. I found that adjusting one line in nVidia Inspector and allowing it to enhance the application settings instead of overriding them improved the situation greatly but not entirely. Why is it generally recommended to override FSX antiliasing? Certainly in my case (with an "average" GTX 550Ti card)_the results were not vey encouraging.

Hello guys. I just installed fsx and pmdg ngx on my new computer. Its a laptop with i5, 4gb ram, intel graphics hd4000. Windows 7, 64 bit. Everything seems to be fine, but in 2d view, the screens (PFD, ND, CDU etc) are blurry. It seems like there is some kind of setting or tweak for the widescreen that is not done correctly. I have gone through the PMDG intro manual for the setup. Here is how it looks now. I would really appreciate some help getting this fixed. Hello all. I am most likely upgrading significantly in the next 6 months. I will be getting an i7 3770K. The Mobo is an ASUS Z77 (sorry, don't remember which submodel.) I was wondering if anyone can provide any input. I have recently upgraded to FSX and part way through building a new rig. I am still to purchase a decent GPU but have loaded FSX and a couple of addons in preperation. I have however one small problem, most 2D pop out panels on any aircraft are in low resolution I have tried playing with display settings, and as you can see from the lower part of the image the VC views are fine, I am just wondering if I am missing something, or Intel onboard 4000 graphics are the culprit? OK.. I connected three 24" monitors to the DVI-D, DP, HDMI and got surround (1 widescreen view). I then connected the 4th 19" monitor to the DVI-D When I configure surround, It does not recognize the 4th monitor. IF I activiate the 4th monitor, it breaks the surround view. I can see all 4 monitors individually. But not (3 monitor surround for fsx) + the 4th monitor (for web browsing) I thought that was how it was supposed to work. Is that not how its supposed to work? Folks, I just upgraded my video card (Nvidea GTX680) and am now getting some display problems in FSX. I did a clean driver update and deleted FSX.cfg and let it rebuild on the first startup of FSX. I then used Word Not Allowed's guide and followed all of the steps but I must have missed something because I am getting corrupted display of aircraft in the freeflight preview screen and in the sim. Any suggestions on things to check would be appreciated. Thanks.

Im running an i5 3570k 3.4 at present with on board GPU, its obviously very poor so I am changing the graphics card in the next phase of my build. I was thinking of the 560ti however the 660ti seems a beter buy all around. I do not want to spend over £250 / $400 on a card as this is really outside of my budget so I think a 660ti is probably the best choice. Also I can not see huge differences in performance between the 660ti and 670/680 cards for FSX as the software is CPU reliant for the most part. Hi everyone, I was having some lag issues with FSX and thought that it would be a good time to update my video card driver for my GTX 570 Superclocked. While uninstalling the nVidia driver from Programs and Features my screen went black and did not recover although the default driver is installed (Intel HD Graphics 3000). The driver did not completely uninstall itself. I pressed the PC reset button and the PC would only boot into safe mode. I saw the nVidia driver was still in the Programs and Features list. Hi Anybody had similar lines appearing in FSX .They seemed to have appeared over the last month or so. have tried two different cards and Drivers but still the same. Card is Asus gtx 560TI Drivers latest 306.79.Any help would be gratefully received. Thinking of upgrading from an EVGA GeForce GTX570 Superclocked 1280 MB GDDR5 to an EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW 1006MHZ 2GB 6.2GHZ GDDR5. What do you think? Or is there something better that anyone would recommend?
