This is only for nVidia users who are using HDMI on their display. If you're display supports Full RGB, which most do, you may notice you aren't getting the right colors and the blacks don't seem so black and the whites don't seem so white. This is because despite under Display->Adjust Desktop Color Settings your digital color format being set at RGB, its actually by default set at Limited RGB, not Full. And you will see there is no option for Full RGB. Don't use ycbcr444 as it will oversaturate reds and magentas. Full RGB is available only under Video->Adjust Video Color Settings, but this doesn't affect your games, applications, etc. Only videos. The t…

Hello, I've been following the triple monitor thread pretty closely, since that is something I'm going to work towards with my new PC build. Since I'm not that tech savvy I'm having a really hard time choosing monitors and discerning the huge price difference. I don't want anything larger then 24" (My tv isn't even that big). I fine with a little smaller as well, since I would be getting 3 monitors. Budget: Ideally $200 but I'm somewhat flexible. Can I get a good monitor for FSX in that price range? A friend of mine, who does not sim, suggested this monitor. I would be curious to see what others thought: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Ite…

I,m going to purchase a 680 this weekend to replace a 560 ti . My question is right now i,m running a 650 watt power supply currently. Will I need to go to a lager supply with this card or will the 650 work? My system is in my profile if needed. Also will I be able to use my current Nvidia inspector settings and drivers? Thanks, Tom

Hello When spanning FSX over three screens in 'windowed mode' it will do it no problem after initially pulling the FSX window over the screens but ... as soon as I close the sim and then go back to fly on another occasion it is back to just the one screen. Once again I have to go through the same procedure as above to get it spanned over the screens. So ... for some reason it is not remembering/holding the settings I am running the NVidia GTX 670 4Gb card using the latest NVidia driver ... Windows 7 (64 Bit) and three NEC EA243 monitors with a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 (5760x1200) over 3 screens Everything is fine in full screen mode but I …

Hi all I have just purchased this as an upgrade to my Samsung T240 synchmaster monitor. I don't know if I'm just missing something somewhere re settings, but I don't seem to get the high fidelity display in FSX as I am able to get on the 24 inch. The display somehow seems more pixelated. I have connected my video card to monitor with a HDMI cable and have the like-for-like settings from within FSX. My video card is an Asus 660Ti GTX. If anyone has this monitor, are you able to share your experience with it and perhaps any settings you have? Many thanks

Testing Asus GTX690, not techi, but thought to share that, according to MSI After burner GPU utilisation graph, both GPU's of the 690 do get used. GPU 0 gets most of the work, soon as i take off, start getting into clouds etc, second GPU kicks in big time. Only done very little testing so far, but yeh smooth. Previously purchased EVGA 680, but that was threating to erupt like a volcano with 4XSGSS, 690 cooling much better. But only tested with 2 SGSS so far. Not sure if its in SLI or not, just ticked a box saying Max3D performance mode, this mode uses both GPU's. Got 2 screens 40inch, 23inch. 23inc for panels 40inch main screen. There is a 690 revi…

Evening folks. I hope you can help me because I am at a total loss at this point. I just got a new computer the other day, and it was sorely needed. But with this new system, I am very confused on why I have alot of blocky lines, and shimmers in the scenery, especially on the runways. My old ATI 4800 had smoother graphics then this. Here is my system. i5 3550 3.3Ghz 6MB Quadcore Ivy Bridge Sapphire Radeon HD7850 1GB GDDR5 8GB DDR3 1333 CL9 Ram Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) I am running FSX/Acceleration. 1680x1050x32 Antistropic filtering with Anti Aliasing Off (tried it with it on, same result) Widescreen aspect No overclocking REX2 Any ideas o…

Hi I have a GTX460 installed, it has been running perfectly and never given any trouble until today. I had opened up the computer to give it its 6 monthly clean out as I have already had a very expensive video card (8800GTX) cook itself. I removed the 460 without issue (I needed it out to get access to other areas) and cleaned the entire computer out with very low pressure air. I even lock the fans in place so the air cant stuff the bearings. I reinstalled the card and fired everything back up only to find I had no display. I rechecked all the connections and made sure the card was seated correctly but still no joy. I reconnected the monitor to the dodgy standard v…

First off, my first post here, I have wound up on these forums dozens of times through google searches now I am finally posting. I have an approx 3 year old Alienware M17x with two GTX260m vid cards. Drivers are 257.38. Direct X 11 is installed. That is the latest I can get from Dell and downloading the latest (310.something?) compatible driver from nVidia, it won't install. The cards are running in "hybrid SLI." Quad core 2.0ghz processor. The issue I am having is not just textures but EVERYTHING flickers, 2d and 3d cockpits, outside world ground/sky/cloud/structure textures. Everything flickers. At night it is worse and everything has a blue hue to it…

I need a favor. I'm considering an EVGA 680 and would like to know how well the gtx 680 performs in FSX with 8xS & 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling when flying in heavy clouds. With my gtx 480 I get stutters. 8xS & 2x Sparse Grid Supersampling is acceptble, but I woul like to run an 4x SGSS because I like how it looks. Thanks. Josse

Finally, after three years of using a crappy 22" Iiyama monitor, it's time for a new one. I've already decided about the size; 27 inches. But I can't decide about the resolution. I'm tending towards a 1080p monitor, simply because I know 1440p - despite it looking beautiful - is not worth it because there's a big performance loss. I'd rather have 30 FPS solid. So I have two options: 1. Buy a 27 inch 1080p LED monitor 2. Buy a 27 inch 1440 LED monitor and run FSX in 1080p (if that looks fine on a 1440p monitor), and having the additional option of 1440p that I might use in games that will actually run it and in the future in a new flightsim platform that'll run it fin…

I recently put together an HTPC from old hardware that was running FSX. This is my first real attempt at dual monitor (I have some laptops, but typically only really use one of the monitors). Anyway my configuration is that I am using an NVidia 8800GTS Monitor 1 is a conventional 1280x1024x60hz lcd using dvi. Monitor 2 is my CRT RPTV that runs at 1080i - 1920x1080x30hz using dvi-hdmi via an AVR. In Win 8 I have the graphics set up as monitor 2 (the TV) as primary and extended desktop. That all is working but here is where I get tripped up: If I have the AVR on and boot Win 8 all proceeds as desired. But sometimes for managing I just boot the HTPC with onl…

Here is the link.. http://www.guru3d.co...r_download.html Downloading right now, I'll report later. Edit: Well, so far this is the best driver I've installed on my machine, I'm using this driver with DX10 and when testing I always push FSX close to the max, LOD at 9.5 with car traffic at 45% +++ using MiamiX, frame rate locked at 30 FPS, not a stutter what so ever, paning around Miami airport like crazy trying to force stutters....to no avail, rock solid. Don't know what kind of result you guys will get if you try it but this is a keeper for me. Good luck all.

I'am going to get two more monitors for my Flight Sim setup to have a total of 3. I was wondering if it were possible to run 3 or 4 monitors with the Virtual Cockpit spanning across all of them at a high resolution not using a Matrox Triple Head2Go. Can Windows do this using NVIDIA Surround in a higher end GPU such as the GTX 680? Do you have to use a Matrox? I am also about to upgrade my system. I was wondering if it would be smarter to upgrade the GPU from a GTX 560Ti to something in the GTX 650Ti and up range. Or should I upgrade my processor, intel core i5-2500K to an i7? FSX can't use hyper threading, but would the i7 add extra processing power? Also, can F…

I first posted this in the P3D forums as thats what I use but now I am thinking this is a hardware/driver issue. and may effect those with FSX as well. This morning I got the typical Windows message saying they have some updates for my Win7 install. Looks like they fixed a couple of issues - windows boot screen is locked to one screen - the Win7 Start/launch bar can now be hidden in Surround mode. Usually installing updates are a non-issue but today after installing, rebooting I am not able to span P3D across three displays. Usually, I can just be in window mode, grab a corner and stretch 'er out (same as FSX).Well the window stretches but P3D stays only on one di…

Has anyone had this issue before? My profiles are missing! I have Microsoft Flight simulator 2002 but nothing later. Microsoft Flight is also missing. I have the latest beta drivers, after install I verified that the profiles were still there, but now they have disappeared. Profile still seems to be loading in FSX graphically. cheers.

My Sony Bravia 32 inch @ 1920x1080 is slowly dying on me and I finally decided that resolution is more important than size... (tell that to your significant others boys!) With that in mind I just picked up the Dell U3011 @ 2560x1600 to pair with my GTX 670... Can't wait for it to get here tomorrow or Thursday to see OMDB at 2560x1600! I had it in my cart then out of my cart 10 times debating going to a 42 inch LED for half the price but I would rather have a 30 inch @ 2560x1600 than a 42 at 1920x1080. Size does matter but resolution matters more Please tell me I am not crazy, my stomach is telling me I am nuts right now lol

I have a rather old NV GTX460 (1GB memory), and am contemplating upgrading. System is a i7-2600K with 8GB (PC3-12800) XMP memory, running Win 7 64 bit. The primary use of the system is FSX (maybe P3D in the future). What upgrade would work for me to provide the maximum benefit for FSX/P3D, without buying up to something with little incremental value for these applications? Monitor has a 120 Hz refresh ( Samsung SA950). Thanks for any suggestions. Bruce.

I bought FS X when it came out with a new (now outdated) Dell XPS. I am in the process on getting the specs on a new system for FS X and see some video cards support multiple monitors. Does FS X support multiple monitors? If so how many 2 or 3? Which graphic cards (mid grade) are suggested? My current monitor is a CRT so I am out of the loop for flat screens so which specs/parameters of monitors are suggested? Thanks
