Hi All, I have a problem with a three monitor setup in FSX. I tried to look for an existing thread, but couldn't find it. If there's already an existing thread about my problem, my apologies in advance! So this is the problem: I'm trying to run FSX in a three monitor setup. I've got 3 1920*1080 monitors and I'm using AMD Eyefinity to run them as 5760x1080. I've set the resolution in FSX to 5760*1080 as well. At first, FSX only displayed the normal 1920 cockpit, spread across 3 screens. THis wasn't my intention. I didn't want it the normal 1920 resolution spread across 3 monitors, i wanted an expanded Field of View. So I went to the FSX.cfg file and changed WideVi…

After price shopping and other assorted research I've narrowed down my choices to the GTX550ti and the GTX560. I'm upgrading from a GT530 so either one should be light years ahead, but does anyone have an opinion on which is better? I have am i7-2600K @3.40, no OC if that makes a difference. Thanks all! -lou

  3. A lot of people seem to be happy with the latest nvidia drivers so i don't understand why, but with my system with Asus GTX 570 DCII 1.28 Gb the results are worse !!! I get a lot more micro stutters and framerate variation with the new 301.42 drivers My system is configured following to the letter the way Costa advises in the sticky ( http://forum.avsim.n...-guide-for-fsx/ ) and with the 296.10 drivers i have very good results, frames are normally 25-30 with very minor stutters. With the 301.42 i can't reach the same results anymore, and yes i have carefully readjusted the FSX settings in nvidiaInspector 1.9.6.5 again, because a driver change mess up some off…

  4. Hey there, After the recent updates of the NVidia Inspector and the new 301.42 and 304.48 drivers, I cannot seem to get the performance I used to with the older drivers and inspector. Most noticeably is the horizontal lines and tearing that I experience now with that 2 second microstutter. I have Kostas setup and utilized that 1/2 refresh rate with locked frames in game. I have done clean installs with both 301.42 and 301.48 respectively. My Inspector files are all in the same folder as before. Any ideas? Anyone else noticing poorer performance with the new drivers/inspector? I completely turned off VSync at one point to see how much help having it on was. Unfortuna…

Just bought a Dell UltraSharp U2412M IPS LED monitor after reading some very good reviews on it lately in the hardware Press, to replace an ancient Iiyama 19-in CRT VisionMaster 1451. If anyone can suggest how I can make best usage of such a classy monitor in FSX, I'd be grateful. I've currently got it set at 1920x1200 resolution at default refresh rate.

I recently upgraded my video card from the 460 to a 670 and everything is running pretty awesome, for the exception of the sound. I connect my monitor to the video card via HDMI, and I realized that the sound was crackling and having static problems. I found that this was due to the video card driver installing an actual Nvidia sound driver that was conflicting with the onboard sound. I disabled the HDMI sound via the nvidia control panel and device manager, and then reinstalled the latest version of the PZ68-V chipset audio driver and it was ok for a while. I did a flight from KMSY to KDAL and noticed toward the latter part of the flight that I still noticed the crac…

I have a system with a Radeon HD4850 512G PCIe card. I have aquired a Asus EN GT 530. I think it's 1gb. Would this be a upgrade that was worth it? I use FS9 very well with my present setup. Just curious before I go ripping cards & drivers for a waste of time. Thanks for any input. Pat Callaghan

Some time ago, I bought an ATI Radeon HD 6950 graphics card, since I wanted to make use of its DX10 capabilities for FSX, but it was then that I found out that this card is very demanding on power requirements, in fact, it wouldn't even crank up when I initially installed it in my computer, since the PC which I put it in only had a 550 watt PSU in it, which I thought was going to just about manage it, but evidently not. So I stuck the 6950 back in its box and figured I'd get around to fitting it when I could be bothered to get a PSU with a bit more oomph. Well, this morning I did finally get around to it, and slung an 850 watt PSU in the PC, and sure enough that did t…

For several weeks I have been fighting unsuccessfully with bad graphics in my FS9.1. I don't remember the starting point. All in all the problem is I get very blurry ground textures and lines (roads) are jagged. I have thoroughly described and illustrated the problem in a few posts. So, here are links to two of them if anyone wants to see more: http://forum.avsim.n...-and-landclass/ http://forum.avsim.n...d-dotted-roads/ I have patiently followed all available advice, including hardware cleaning, video drivers reinstall, defragging, measuring GPU/CPU temperatures, and of course (Nick's, Word Not Allowed's and Ryan's) settings for both fs9.cfg and Nvidia Inspect…

I currently run FSX on a laptop (Lenovo W510 i820 quad core @ 1.8ghz with 12GB RAM and an nVidia Quadrant FX-880 with 1GB RAM). I had some challenges getting FSX to be smooth and stable until I read the hardware guide and implemented the tweaks. Those tweaks along with some tweaks using nVidia inspector made a huge difference, especially after I figured out I need to leave it running :). I'm curious about how many members run FSX on mobile hardware and specifically the display cards used and the issues/solutions found to make the experience smooth and stable.

  15. So, I want to do a FSX video for Youtube. I did some research and MSI AfterBurner seems to be the best capture software for now, it's free and people say it doesn't take too much fps. I tried to capture from my FSX which runs locked at 30fps with no problem, full screen, 1920X1200, 30Frames with no compression and the FPS went from 30 to 10fps when I started recording. Is it always that bad? I don't want to lower the quality of the capture, it will already loose quality when I upload it to youtube, so I want to work with no compression at all, but the fps drop is too high. I thought my PC, with a GTX 670 would handle this better. Any tips??

  17. Hi all, I've been very happy with the system I built last year, with one critical exception--the GTX 560Ti I went for has not proved quite equal to the task of running FSX plus addons. In particular, any significant cloud cover tends to induce stutters, even with relatively low levels of AA with no supersampling. I'm hoping an upgrade to a GTX 580 will work better (and I'm also helping it will eliminate some weird texture flashing and Z-fighting that may be a sign of defects in the old card--they've been there from the beginning). Any card recommendations? Newegg has a PNY Commercial Series VCGGTX580XPB-CG GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB in stock for $430 (no reviews o…

  21. Hi Guys I have picked up a new FlightDeck Solutions Pro MX CDU to work with the PMDG NGX http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/prod_info.php?id=712 I am running Win 7 FSX on a 3 monitor setup 3840 x 1024 with a Triple Head 2 Go with a GTX 570. The Pro MX CDU works as an extra screen 800 x 600. I have purchased another Nvidia 260 card to run it as I dont want to use the resources of my main card. My question is after researching threads, I know that I can extend my desktop and basically drag the CDU from the PMDG plane over but do I have to remain in Windowed mode. This would be a shame as I really like using the Adaptive Sync 1/2 Refresh rate that has mad…

Hey guys! I've been reading around on the topic list searching out 680 reviews and the like, and was wondering if I should upgrade my 460 gtx to the 670? I'd be getting the base 670, and would overclock it myself since I found it pretty easy to do with the 460. I'm running FSX pretty well right now, I almost always have 30 FPS except in the big airports with a lot of UT2 traffic and the like, and hate the little jaggedy lines that I see sometimes which I understand are controlled from the anti-aliasing settings, which is why I decided to look into getting a better video card. I know it's going to be an upgrade and increase my frames and such, but will it allow me to b…

Hi captains, As you can see in my sig, I'm currently using the GTX 580, but, it's only borrowed from a friend of mine. Right now he wants it back, so I will have to buy a card myself now. So far, especially with Srdan's VSync tweak, FSX runs great and very smooth! I have nothing to complain about. But, I'm not only buying a card for FSX. I know that currently a GTX 680 won't really do better than the GTX 580, but there are still several reasons why I want the GTX 680. First of all, I think the drivers will mature after a while which will increase performance (just like with the GTX 480 in the past). Secondly a video card is a great investment, and you will want to us…

Hi all, I currently have an i5 2500k overclocked to 4.6ghz with 8gb of ram and a nvida 9800gtx with 512mb of ram all running on W7 64bit. I get around 25fps with Ngx at areosoft mega airport when running med to high settings. And traffic at about 25%. I am using a 19in monitor. Would I see much of an improvement with a 570 gtx, I was looking at a 570 As it in my budget. Mark
