I note that Word Not Allowed recommends Anisotropic Filtering setting in NVIDIA Inspector to be USER DEFINED/OFF but the pinned PDF above recomments Application Controlled. I would appreciate any comments about the difference in these settings and which is best to use. I have the GTX 580. Thanks Greg

Hi guys. I'm thinking of buying myself a new GPU for my FSX rig. I'm wondering if you have any experience with Ti cards vs. non-Ti cards. Do you know if FSX benefits anything extra from those two letters, Ti? Or will 660 non-Ti perform just as well in FSX as the Ti version? Thanks, Bogganero.

Hi guys, I have been reviewing computer monitors for the past few months now, and I have also been wondering...what is the difference between a HDTV and a computer Monitor? I bought a Samsung 32" LED 3D Smart TV a few months ago, would it be worth it to get another one to use just as my computer monitor? Regards, Ciaran Andrews

I read (may mis-read!) ages ago that a DVI graphics card cannot work with an HDMI monitor if using a DVI -> HDMI converter adapter dongle thing. Is this correct? Has anyone done this, or had problems doing so? My graphics card (a GTX 670) has DVI outs, but the screens i am looking to buy only take DVI. If this will work, what adapter should i buy? Thanks!

Hi I'm new here and I do not know if I am posting in the right place or correctly, and apologies if I'm not.... I have recently purchased FSX acceleration pack deluxe edition, Saitek Yoke, & pedals. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU [email protected] 32 bit Operating system NVIDIA GeForce GTX660ti 2 x Hanns G HG281D Monitors and 1 x HZ281 (Both 1920x1200) Ok, firstly, I am having a problem getting the 3 screens to line up so everything looks good. I can get it nearly there by setting the un-docked views to virtual cockpit, panning with the Hat button, linking all, and zooming in and out but it never lines up horizons and runways correctl…

Hi guys, I am looking for some views and opinions on whether a change from a ATI HD 5770 1GB, to a nVidia GTX 650ti 2GB would yield much of an improvement, in FSX ? My other systems specs are:- i7 2600k 3.4Ghz (turbo boost to 3.8Ghz), 8GB DDR3 RAM, Win 7 64 bit Many thanks, Raul.

Hey Srdan, I know you will probably look at this thread... I read on another thread where you stated that SLI DOES benefit FSX/P3D when used with a visuals only setup (no cockpit, VC, etc). Can you elaborate on this? This will benefit people who do home cockpits and use one PC for visuals only, like myself. What type of performance increases are we looking at in these type of situations? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 Brain fart!!! Nevermind this thread, mods can delete it. I just noticed Srdan had already started one on the same topic. Hahahah my bad! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Hi there! Lately, I am more and more intrested in multi monitor setups. I saw a nice working setup a while ago and I´d like to have somethings similar now. I got a new PC 2 months ago (i5 3570K @ 4.4 GHz, 16 GB RAM CL9, Geforce GTX 670 2GB, 480 GB SSD), so I think I should have a reasonable system to give it a try. I´d like to use it mainly with the virtual cockpit, so no additional 2D view for the instruments, a moving map or something similar is needed. My understanding is, that I connect one monitor to the HDMI output, the 2nd to the DVI-I output, and the 3rd to the DVI-D output of my GTX 670. Is this correct? How do I set up these three monitors in Windows, and wh…

The Nvidia GeForce driver version 310.90 WHQL, dated from Jan. 5th 2013, is out. Nvidia Geforce driver 310.90 WHQL release notes. Has anyone tested it with FSX yet? How about IQ, fps, artifacts, (micro)stutters, etc? FYI, I myself downgraded the GeForce driver on my PC from 310.70 to 306.97 after reading this post: Warning about the new 310.70 drivers

Hi everyone, I have a Gigabyte GTX 670 as seen here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125423 Core Clock: 980 MHz Boost Clock: 1058 MHz Memory Clock: 6008 MHz I want to ask about overclocking this card. Will there be a particular performance increase? I know FSX is CPU bound but apparently the GPU helps out with lots of clouds and I notice a significant performance decrease in cloudy weather. Which GPU clock will benefit FSX more? Should I raise the core clock first or the memory clock? What functions does each clock speed accomplish, and how will this translate into performance for FSX? Regards, Ivo

I've been wanting to do this for a long time. This is a benchmark flight, very much like FSMark11 & FSMark07 but focused on the GPU. The idea is to figure out which GPU models & architectures run better at high IQ levels in FSX. It doesn't require a clean FSX install or anything like that, the only requirements are: - Max out your Cloud Coverage Density (8 or more) - Nvidia users, load the .nip Inspector profile provided (right click on the GPUMark.nip file, select "open with..." and browse for the nVidia Inspector executable) - Run the benchmark like you would FSMark11 - Set your resolution to 1920x1080 Let's see what's the best GPU to crank up those…

I am embarrassed to say that I have had a brand new Asus GTX680 DirectCU II TOP layin' around for months... My rig actually works so well that I did not have the guts to rip it all apart. But there has to be a limit even to my stupidity, so this weekend it is going in, and my rig will be scrutinized for dust and cleaned in the process. I have no problem doing the switch with regards to the work that has to be done with the hardware, but I would appreciate if someone could direct me to the safest and the best way to do the switch with regards to drivers, running as std VGA before turning off with the 480 for the last time and so on. The 480 is also a Asus card …

Nvidia inspector v1.9.6.9 is available and I was wondering if custom profiles can be corrupted if I use the upgrade button? It's not difficult to install v1.9.6.9 from scratch and customize the FSX profile again but I just wanted to know for future reference. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hi again! I recently bought a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7750 for my PC and FS2004. But I am not quite satisfied with it; performance is average in my opinion. So, could anyone give me tips about a possibly better card performancewise in a $125 to $200 price range? My setup: Intel 3,4 GHZ, 4GB RAM, ASUS Motherboard PCIExpress. Grateful for tips. Thanks! Well it finally arrived today and could not wait to see what it could do with FSX. I initially carried out a test with 3dMark11 compared to my old 560 ti. The benchmark test went from P4779 to P8224, a massive increase of over 70%. I was more than happy with that. So tried FSX....... no differences at all, I mean nothing, I tried my own take on FSMark 11 and saw no difference in FPS, different payware airport scenarios, nothing. I can only conclude that if you are running a single screen save your money. Unless I am missing something blatently obvious ??? Regards Paul
