Hi. I have just acquired a second monitor and I am trying to get it set up as follows: On my primary monitor, I would like FSX running in full screen. On my secondary monitor, I want to run 3rd party programs like Active Sky, smart ACARS and also Google Chrome so that i can look at charts etc. Can anyone tell me if/how this is possible? Thanks. Callum.

I know several folks have asked me about 30 Hz and 60 Hz ... I run my Sony XBR49x850b via it's HDMI 2.0 ports to GPUs that support HDMI 2.0 and have not had any issues or image quality reduction running at 30 Hz or 60 Hz. For flight sims I operate at 30Hz, for 3D racing sims/games I operate at 60 Hz. Here is a sample 60Hz output at 4K res (YouTube will compress the video so native source looks better). Color quality is excellent, no artifacts, no motion blur: I've heard rumors that 4K isn't good enough yet ... well, I'll disagree with those rumors. Buyers just need to be careful with their purchases as all 4K monitors/TVs are NOT the same. 1. You…

  3. I have three monitors (2x 4:3, 1x 16:10) but I cannot run Eyefinity without lots of faffing about. I can get round this on P3D just by dragging-and-dropping the edges of the application across the 3 monitors, but if I try this on FSXSE it just gives me a black screen one third of the way across the picture. FSXSE - https://i.imgur.com/Co9ZzDU.jpg P3D http://i.imgur.com/44LL91j.png works fine. Is there any way around this? Edit-oops Windows 7 and AMD 7970, with center monitor on DVI to DVI, side monitors on miniDP to vga (1x active & 1x passive adaptors). I was told that I should only need 1 active adaptor for the mini display ports to work w…

For Windows 10 and Nvidia Sli users, this driver is said to repair a memory leak with the 355.60 set. No link to post, search it on the Guru3d site.

  5. G'day folks. Wondering if any of our well-heeled members are using the above 21:9 aspect ratio monitor. If so could you comment particularly with regard to how Flight Sims work with the 3440 x 1440 resolution? Many thanks.

At this point i just wana know if any of u actually have a smooth gameplay in fsx like steady fps wether its 25 or 30. Or do your fps fluctuate All the time? Im starting to think its my cpu or power supply

Hi Folks, I am trying without much success to find a strange issue that has plagued me for about 6 months. I cannot seem to run FSX/SE in DX9 any longer with out a smooth/judder judder judder smooth effect, bad when taxing and when panning. I have tried every single tweak makes no difference. I even thought it was my 770 card so replaced it with a 970..no dice! If I run on Win 7/10, now on 10 in DX10...well smooth smooth smooth and very occasional judder just like DX 9 was? I also have P3D and this uses DX11 and gives the same result as FSX on DX9 which is surprising. So what have I tried, all components are clean within temps i7 2600k oc to 4.5 Corsai…

So i got a gtx 780 i bought from ebay but in fsx it stutters when i pan as if its having trouble processing the frames. Its weird but i can hear the noise it makes while it stutters (like it gets stuck) in game so i know its the card. I ise to think it was cpu and i still dont dismiss dat but idk. To test it i switched to on onboard graphics of my i7 4790k, the hd 4600 and to my suprise it i had 17 fps but it was so smooooooth ive never experience fsx like dat. Further more i went to buy a cheap card from best buy (gt610) to try it but that card was acting the same way as the 780. If u have any ideas wat it could be please let me know

I'm really intrigued by the prospect of using a large screen Ultra HDTV (3840 X 2160) as my screen for FSX. Several models became 'well priced' at Thanksgiving including three models of Seiki's budget 4K TVs each at less than $1000 US. Has anyone tried on of these with FSX, and in particular, an NVIDIA card? Can Windows/NVIDIA drive this resolution using HDMI? Do tell of your experiences!

  12. Hello! I want to start live streaming FSX (and P3D) with addon aircraft at addon scenery, but with good FPS (35FPS steady). I have an i7 4790K and 16Gb's of RAM, but I have been told my GTX650 is a HUGE bottleneck for my system. So much so that when I try to run P3D, I maybe get 17FPS. I asked around and many people have recommended the GTX 970, and I want to make sure I am 1000% sure it's the right thing to get before spending the $350. So can anyone confirm that if I get the GTX 970 and pair it with my i7 that I will get ~35FPS at addon scenery in an addon airport WHILE live streaming? And if so, should I get the MSI, EVGA, or the Gigabyte model? Thanks!

I was looking at this monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014372&cm_re=BL3200PT-_-24-014-372-_-Product I'm currently using a 1920X1080 27" Samsung S27B350. I'd like something a little bit larger and the price on this monitor is pretty good. Does anyone have this monitor and can provide feedback on how it performs in FS? Thanks David

How can i describe this. Well i'm running 2 extra monitors with my FSX they are just small LCD and VGA monitors. Now for my LCD monitor it works in window mode but when i go into full screen mode it clicks off and takes a while to go back on only if i go out of full screen mode on FSX. Strange thing is it works perfectly like before, if i replace the 2 NVIDIA DISPLAT entrys in my FSX.CFG. But i can't get them back in. I have restarted FSX but FSX isn't building those lines in my FSX.CFG anymore? I have got a backup FSX.CFG but i'm wondering they aren't getting added automatically anymore?

Howdy everyone! So I'm thoroughly enjoying my new rig with P3D and a 49" 4K TV...but I've got an quick question. Why does it seem no matter what I do, there is always some sort of tearing going on somewhere with the textures? Mainly on buildings. I have heard rumours, is it because NVidia doesn't play as well with P3D as Radeon does? Also, does P3D not utilize SLI of any type of card, or only NVidia? Either way, I an EVGA GTX970 OC 4GB that I am either going to sell on eBay and grab a GTX980 / Radeon 390X or I'm going to SLI another 970 in the mix. Which would be the better choice? Antialiasing on the isn't really doing that great. I just got my rig off …

  16. This one should be a sim changer, a curved ips gsync monitor from Acer! http://www.cnet.com/products/acer-xr341ck/ It will set you back a mere 1299USD. Guess I'll get 2:).

  17. Hi all, I have been looking for a system to run my 6 monitors and a program called 'Input Director' may do what I need. If the program sounds like it will allow my system to do what I want it to, could someone please let me know. I run a computer with specifications listed in my profile overview (including a Nvidia Surround GTX GeForce Titan) which allows up to 4 monitors to be connected. It currently has three 27" monitors in lanscape mode that gives me about 120 degree VC view from inside the cockpit, and is okay on frame rates that I have set at 30 fps. The forth 24" monitor sits under the middle monitor and the gauges go on this. In regards to Tweaks, I have followe…

I'm looking to create a 3-monitor setup, and they will be connecting to an EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ Video Card. I'm open to suggestions and recommendations on what I need to keep an eye out for, or monitors in general as I start getting deeper into research. I want them to be 27 inches (I'm using one now, and want to maintain that size) plus I'll probably try to add a 3 screen desk mount to neaten things on the desk. I'm looking for this setup to be a flight sim, and race sim environment but it is a gamer PC as well as work when duty calls. I may not play all games with 3 screens all the time. I do work quite a bit from 3 screens at my job alrea…

Looking to build a "light" gaming rig - no $5000 machine I need to mortgage though... : ) I am wondering if I should start with the video card. I've always liked the nVidia stuff, and would like to be able to run 3 monitors. That said - mostly this is for FSX, P3D, and XP, but my son will likely game on it a bit (or a lot). I'd like to keep the GPU budget >=$300 to start if possible, and work the rest of the computer around it. Would like to keep the whole thing under $1K if we can. I realize the other components are for other questions, but thought I'd throw it out there since it might be influenced by the card. Any guidance appreciated... …

  21. Hi all, This is my first purchase and install of the Nvidia brand of video cards (Radeon/AMD since starting the hobby 13 years ago). Installed the above card and so far, performance-wise the card is pretty fast and stable (frames locked at 45 and holds steady for the most part). However, I've tried a few different settings for antialiasing, etc, but can't seem to correct what seems to be an excessive amount of shimmering around the airport scenery and ai planes (using FS9.1 by the way). The ground textures and autogen seem to be ok. I'm using the stock Nvidia Control Panel to make my adjustments (antialiasing is turned off in the sim). My system specs are: Alienware Aur…

Guys, I need help here. I tried cleaning upgrading to the latest nvidia driver last week. I tried a couple different AA settings in Inspector (8xS, 8xSQ, 16xS). I rebooted. Nothing has worked. I duplicated the settings from this thread and when I run FSX, I get no AA. If I turn AA on inside FS, it looks great. If I turn it off inside FS, the drivers don't seem to be overriding FS's selection of "no AA thanks." Don't know what causing this. Even go into the Nvidia controller doesn't override the fsx setting. Please explain to me how I should do.

A couple of years ago, there was a post in this forum which dealt with a download made available for ATI based graphics cards. It was called something like "Shader 3.0 mod." At that time, NVidia cards had something in their hardware that ATI cards lacked. Excuse my ignorance, but I am not informed to the intricate workings of video cards. But, pixel shading was considered an important development, and I also believe that DirectX was including support for these shaders. The point of the Shader 3.0 mod was that only NVidia cards were utilizing this technology. Hence my question stemming from my own ignorance.....With today's AMD Radeon cards, namely my own Radeon r…

Hi everyone, Recently, my GPU has been acting strange and now loads itself between 80-99% when I'm playing FSX and many other games as well. As of a result of this, I have been getting lower FPS. For example on the ground at LGTS with the PMDG 737 With pretty high settings, would usually get 40-50 FPS in the VC (mouse cursor out of window obviously) but now I get 15-20. The lower FPS comes from the GPU coming under massive load: https://billedeupload.dk/?v=cP9Wh.png It has usually been around 40-60% The temps are not very high either. I have tried setting to 'preferred maximum performance' setting in Nvidia Inspector and changing the settings but…

  25. Hi all, I currently have 2x 23" monitors (1920x1080p) side by side. I'm looking for a monitor setup for: - Stock trading - Flying the PMDG 777 in FSX Which would be better? 1 - Asus PB287Q (TN panel) 28" 4K in the center, with the 23" monitors at the sides, or: 2 - Samsung 34" S34E790C 21:9 ultra-wide screen. system specs: i7 4670k @ stock speeds GTX 770, 2GB VRAM 16GB DDR 3 Most of my PC usage is web browsing & reading articles, and I sometimes get a headache after a while - possibly from the low ppi or slow refresh rate of my current monitors, so would 4K help? Any suggestions or experience with the above monitors would be greatly…
