H I folks, Looking for some advice here... I will shortly have this setup once my new GTX 970 arrives. Dedicated Flightsim PC: GTX 970 4Gb General Purpose (GP) PC: HD 4770 512MB Shared Monitor via DVI KVM: Samsung 24", 1080p I am looking to potentially upgrade the 24" monitor I have with a 1440p monitor replacement. I am not convinced a 4K monitor is worthwhile. So the question is, if I move to 1440p for my Flightsim PC, I am reasonably confident the GTX 970 can handle the workload, but I was wondering if the HD 4770-equipped PC for general purpose/office apps is going to cut the mustard with the small 512Mb of VRAM it has, if I want to use all the re…

Reality XP http://www.reality-xp.com/flightsim/flt/features/index.html SimTouch Plus 2 http://www.simtouch.eu/Information/SimTouchPlus2.aspx I don't find much feedback on Reality XP gauges and even less on SimTouch Plus 2. SimTouch Plus 2 works on a regular monitor as does Reality XP. So no need to buy a new monitor. I have a 19" and a 24". In a few weeks, I will build a whole new system with 4k 55" LED TV, new computer etc. So a second monitor for the panel would be nice. Are these products worth buying or is a separate window from the sim (FSX and P3D) good enough? BTW- I am a student pilot. So I will be flying the A2A Cessna Trainer almost ex…

Greetings, I'm trying to find out how to drive 5 or more monitors on the same PC. (I'm building a home cockpit) I'll be getting some type of AMD ATI card in the near future. (Can't use NVidia due to another sim that I use) It's obvious that I would need multiple cards to do this. But is there some certain configuration that needs to be implemented? Or do I simply add two cards which would give me 8 ports? I currently have an ATI HD 78xx series card already that uses 4 ports. I'd like to be able to throw another GPU - a 980 Ti say - and use the new card to drive two monitors that would use the 3D views and the HD 78xx providing the instrumentation views. …

Hello everyone, For the past month or so, I haven't been able to complete a single flight on my sim (FSX). Sometime during the middle of the flight, my monitors black out and then I get a message saying that the Nvidia drivers have crashed/stopped working and has recovered. The sim becomes a black screen and the only thing i can do is press the close button to exit the sim. I've looked online for many fixes including uninstalling a certain windows update, using a microsoft "fix it" program to fix the registry, reinstall the latest drivers, and so on. I haven't been able to fix the problem so far...it's pretty annoying not being able to complete a flight :/ Does anybo…

I'm starting my FDS 737 cockpit build and i already have this monitor - http://www.samsung.com/levant/consumer/it/monitor/curved-monitor/LS34E790CNS/ZN I would like to get the exact same one, my question is, will i need an additional GPU? i'm running a GTX780 at the moment and the monitor is hooked up via DP. Or will i need a 980 and plug them both in the 2 DP on the 980? or can i use my current 780 one in DP and one in HDMI? also can i use nvidia surround with 2 monitors? cheers.

Hi, I have an Nvidia GTX780 3GB graphics card fitted. I am running Prepar3Dv3 and I have seen plenty of comments stating that the graphics card usuage should reach 90% or more. Montoring my installation my card doesn't seem to go above about 35%, this is when running PMDG 777 at UK2000 Heathrow extreme with ASN, FS Captain, ProAtcX, Aivlasoft EFB and FS2Crew. This should be about as demanding a scenario as possible to load up the grahics card. I have monitored it using NV Inspector and GPU-Z. I am getting OK performance but was wondering if there is something that is holding the graphics card back? System Specs: Prepar3Dv3 Windows 7 Professional 64bit …

I purchased a new computer earlier this year 2015. In my menu bar at the bottom is a Nvidea Geforce Experience Icon which keeps reminding me there is a new driver to update. However every time I hit the download updated driver button a window pops up that says unable to connect to Nvidea, try again later. Well I have been trying again later for weeks or months. Obviously something is wrong, but I'm not too computer savvy. Anybody else have this problem or know how I could correct this?

I have an older GTX660 video card with 331.65 WHQL drivers. I have always had the philosophy that "if it works, don't change it". And, I have seen posts that say the latest drivers may have problems. After all that, my question is : what new driver should I be using (if any) ? Dave Hinson

GPU.... Nvidia EVGA 750Ti GTX Just got the card used and am trying to install it in to a new PC build with Windows 7. So the pc booted up to begin with after I got Win 7 installed, I went to restart it after installing the Network Card and it would not reboot back to W7. I took the card out and tried it with a different lesser power GPU and it rebooted several times. So back in with the 750...would not reboot. So I took out the CMOS battery and reset the jumpers and reinstalled it and it booted up just fine. I went to restart it and would not restart. The drivers are the 358s. Anyone have a thought as to wht is going on or what I can do? Thanks …

Hi, A quick question hopefully... In the past, there was quite a lot of problems with installing drivers, so the recommendation was a complete uninstall and cleanup of the Nvidia drivers prior to installing new ones. What is the latest experience/feedback you have using the Gforce Experience download/update method. Is this fairly robust or best to stick with manual install of current drivers? Regards

Hi all I'm currently in the stage of researching a system for P3d V3, I'm looking into either a G-sync monitor or a 4k monitor (28'') I've been looking into a Skylake 6700K, on an Asus ROG Z170 Maximus motherboard (or one similar), however on the website under the graphic section on the mobo it says; ''- Supports HDMI with max. resolution 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz - Supports DisplayPort with max. resolution 4096 x 2304 @ 60 Hz'' Source Now, this leaves me confused, Am I correct in thinking that I either need a 4K/Gsync Monitor at 30hz, and use a DisplayPort? I'm confused with the whole 30hz/60hz, and now the 24hz on the motherboard. Could anyone s…

Hello, I'm using P3D v3 for a couple weeks now but I'm having a hard time getting decent FPS when using several high quality addons simultaneously. FlyTampa's Toronto (lite textures), NGX and REX clouds (overcast) plus high settings in P3D gives me about 11-15 FPS. I have an i7 2600 quad at 3.4, 8GB of RAM and a GTX560 4GB. I'm aware the 560 has come of age, hence my thoughts on upgrading to a newer, more powerful one. I've monitored the usage of the CPU, RAM and GPU with MSI Afterburner while running the aforementioned scenario and noticed that my CPU usage is about 18 to 24% only (with some cores not even used), RAM around 50% while my graphics card is close to a nu…

Hi community, Recently, I have had something very unusual happen with FSX on my computer. A couple of nights ago, I reinstalled FSX for probably the fifth or sixth time this year. Over that time, I have also installed a stack of add-ons, as I have been a tester at times. I completed a fresh install of FSX and acceleration two nights ago. When I ran the sim, all seemed to be fine, then about 2 minutes in, things started to lock up, frame rates dropped to about 4fps, and it dropped out to a black screen. There was a message in the system event logs relating to an NV7 failure. I do not have the log now because I'm at work. The thing is, I've never overclocked my…

Hi guys. I currently have a 22 and a half inch 1920 x 1080 Dell monitor (found in a clean up but working great). Am thinking of getting a 29" 5ms(2560x1080) LG IPS29UM67-P (21:9) for AUD449. (http://www.msy.com.au/nsw/ultimo/peripherals/15796--lg-ips-29-free-sync-29um67-p-5ms-2560x1080-21-9-spk-hdmi-dp-dvi-gaming-monitor.html). Hi, In the past I have seen people in threads refer to parts and prices on a web site that allows for you to insert the part, such as MOBO, and it lists current prices for each part and a total for your build. In my memory it also did this for Canadian outlets I thought that I had saved the url for this site but can't locate it anymore. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks. OK. I just found it "PCPartPicker".

I have been very pleased with the performance improvement with V3 of P3D generally and particularly with payware aircraft. My current system,(see below) still struggles with payware scenery and weather. I plan to move to Skylake in the future and wonder if a better GPU would be a good investment for the short term. I like the price point of the GTX 970 but would consider a GTX 980 or 990. Thanks for your help. CPU: i7 2600K OC 4.4 GPU: Geforce 580

If you look at my specs tag at the bottom of this post you will see I have a NVidia GT430 graphics card. When I run FS10 it is 60% smooth and 40% jerky to slideshow. If I were to upgrade to a GTX 730/740 card would that signicantly improve my performance with FS10. I also run some 3rd party scenery and panels. Thank you for your help. Randy
