This probably applies to those with this hardware setup. I'm building a new PC so wanted to get the experience of users with the same/similar setup: How well does add ons and payware aircraft fare with those who use the GTX970 card and a 4k monitor? There have been multiple threads here on whether this card could run it, apparently it can, but couldnt find information regarding whether if it was with a basic run down, or with heavy add ons like UTX, GTX, REX, mesh, etc.. The monitor I'm considering is the Philips 40" BDM4065UC with an GTX970 4GB card. I do mainly low altitude scenery flying and use payware aircraft. What FPS do you get? How much would you have t…

I know at 1080p with a few windows open at a heavy scenery area, FSX only used about 1.1Gig of vram. What does a machine running a high resolution setup use for vram?

I know this has been discussed in other forums over the interwebs, but I cannot find a proper solution. But you may or may not notice that your card will not enter P0 state. The only way to invoke P0 under heavy utilization is to go to device manager, disable your display adapter, then re-enable. Upon restart/reboot, it reverts back to P2. I came across this issue when attempting to overclock my 970 and I could not adjust my memory clock settings and would revert to default upon hitting "apply". Now is this a Nvidia driver issue? I have attempted several versions, all the way back to 347.88 to the latest. Same issue across the board. Anyone else notice this? I fou…

As the title says, I'm considering a new monitor to go with my new gtx 970. I'm looking at this one http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-25UM57-P-ultrawide-led-monitor Seems decent for the price. I'm only using FSX for now and was wondering how it looked at this resolution. My cpu is an I5 3570k at 4.5. I wish I coukd go bigger, but I don't have much room on my desk. Thanks

Hi guys, I've started using Shadowplay recently when I've got GTX 960, after trying D3DGear and Fraps. I've got microstutter and even stutter with all three apps, most heavy ones with D3DGear. Less stutters I get with Shadowplay, but still they are annoying as hell. In P3D and FSX stutters are less visible, especially at high altitudes (logically), but in American Truck Simulator stutters are VERY noticable. I've tried to disable vsync in ATS, to change path for Shadowplay temp folder to another drive/partition, to change bitrate and resolution, no luck. I don't have SSD, but I've found on some forums that people have stutter problem also with SSDs. Also I think the s…

Hi. I have 3 ASUS monitors and EVGA GTX 980Ti. I enabled surround and something does not look right. Colors and font look sharp but desktop icons and font on website and docs are very large now. I ran FSX and tried windowed expanded mode and full screen, looks sharps but too big. Playing with zooming did not help. Ezca did not help either. Current resolution in Surround is 5760x1080 shows recommended. If I lower it becomes blurry. I used to have GTX 780 and with settings everything looked OK. I wonder if this is something to do with W10 pro upgrade. Thx Looks like it was W10 scaling issue. It was set to 150% by default. Reducing down to 100 fixed the problem…

i currently have a Dell 22 and a half inch 1920 x 1080 (16:9) monitor which I found on the side of the road. I am think of replacing it with this one: http://www.lg.com/au/it-monitors/lg-29UM57 It is 29 inches, 2560 x 1080 and 21:9. I mainly play P3D, FSX and Euro Truck Simulator. Has anyone got any thoughts if I would benefit much from the purchase. I can get it for $399 Aussie Dollars. Many thanks for any replies. John

I know this should be simple, but it's not (at least for me). What I have: I've built a new machine with a GeForce GTX 970 video card driving 2 Asus V278 27" monitors in their default 1920x1080 resolution. What I want: to have FSX span across both monitors. I want to see more instrument panel/scenery, not just a bigger view of what was on 1 screen. Oh, and I want a Virtual Cockpit. What I get: When I run FSX, it shows up on the default (left) screen. The secondary screen (on the right) changes its background to black and resets the screen resolution to what looks like 640x480. FSX's resolution (set at 1920x1080) dosen't change. Anything I mange to put o…

I also posted at the P3D forum, but no advice just yet..... I'm in the process of building a new PC and before I pull the trigger on the final component I thought I would seek a little guidance. The build so far is as follows: i5 6600k with evo 212 cooler (to allow a little OC) ASrock z170rpo4s board 8GB Gskill DDR43000 (ordering another 8 soon) Samsung 850 500GB SSD The final component, the video card is going to be ordered in the next few days hopefully and I've been planning on an EVGA GTX 970. I've ready nvidia runs P3D better but is there any reason I should consider the 8GB R9 390 instead?? $300-$350 is the budget. I'm really hoping this PC can run P3D and my…

Hi Guys, Would anyone know if running two GTX 980Ti 6 GB cards would help or make any difference in FPS in FSX for a multi three monitor setup, (1 VC view, 2 undocked fully expanded 2D views)??? This would be on a i7 4770K system... I know FSX is CPU dependant, but could it possibly help? Thanks, Sam

I have recently built a new pc with an i5 6600k CPU, running at 4.2 GHz. I use the FSX Steam Edition. Currently my addons are: - FS Global 2010 - FTX Global - UTX Europe v2 - PMDG 737 NGX - Active Sky Next I have a very old GPU, a GTX 260. I made a test at Aerosoft Stockholm Arlanda airport, sitting at the runway, using the virtual cockpit, and I am not able to maintain the locked frame rate of 30 fps. No AI traffic is in use at all. Even though the GPU usage shows around 50-60 %, is it still possible that my GPU is the problem here? Would i benefit from upgrading to a better GPU?

Building a new pc and thinking about getting a new monitor to go with it. The pc is an i6600k,gtx970 combo. I'm considering either a 29" 1560x1080 or a 27" 1560x1440. Thoughts on the 2k vs ultrawide?

Left side window view Right side window view Hi Guys, I thought I would share with everyone how I setup my three monitor Cessna flight simulator cockpit. After many hours of research reading through the FSX and other multi-monitor forums I took to the task of installing and setting up my two new monitors in my already single monitor Cessna flight simulator. The physical installation of the monitors was pretty easy, getting it to all function properly was another story...The trouble shooting was beyond frustration to say the least...But in the end through trial and error I found the right combination of settings and the system turned out to b…

Today I went to check my NVidia Inspector settings and noticed I have not a single profile..not even the default.. Its all blank Hmmm.. Any ideas? I tried downloading the Inspector and all I got was an exe file that shows my Vido car setting. Remember there used to be default profiles anfr then you see a list of all games including FSX and P3D where you add or subtract specific setting? Its all missing. Its like entering my home ...and I've been robbed! LOL

So I wonder why the Oculus Rift price for Canada is $850 when its only $650 for Australia? Both currencies are identical in value against the US Dollar. Even New Zealands price of $699 is $150 cheaper then Canada and the NZ Dollar is only worth 92 Canadian cents? Why is the pricing so high for Canada?

I want to drag my gauge onto my tablet, like i could do when having to monitors hooked up to the same PC. IE: my GTN750 gauge to my tablet and then be able to use the touch screen on my tablet to control the GTN750, I have tried Splashtop, but that just duplicates whats happening on the PC. I think the settings i used when having 2 monitors hooked up was extend my desktop screen.Anything?????? even if i could hardwire the tablet to the graphics card. I want to utilize the touch screen of the tablet Thanks, Bob McDuff

Background: flightsimming for years, ever since FS4 on a 386DX. Biggest screen I've had in 24" widescreen. Anyways, what are your thoughts on monitor like this for FSX? Are panels normally able to look correct and not stretched into abnormal looking aspect on such wide displays? Seems like the resolution on this would be easier than a multiple 3 monitor display (easier for a vid card to handle the pixels and still be fast response). Anybody have any tips or advice on buying this as opposed to the total price for some other approach to widescreen display? 99 cent shipping.... Newegg Thanks. Aspect-wise, probably looks like somewhat similar to a coupl…

So I have a triple monitor setup for FSX, and while it seems (Seemed?) like a good idea, I just can't get it right.. The most annoying part of it is the stretching, followed by not knowing the correct zoom levels to use here, not being able to find anything that "seems/feels right". I found several posts about folks with their new 4k monitors, or 1440p monitors, etc. and thought maybe that would be a good alternative, as a compromise between the horizontal resolution, no stretching, etc. So, in light of that I said> "hey, let's rotate the monitors and set it up in portrait mode, to get an approximate idea of what one of those monitors will give me" …

Hello and Good Morning, this is the first time I post something like this on Avsim, It concerns a problem that I have been unable to solve since 6 months. The problem is that, between May and June I had the sim running with a good AA setting (8xS), it happened after 2 years of not knowing how to handle Nvidia Inspector (I didn't had the time to investigate) and achieved it by using NickN's guide. After 3 weeks of flawless simming, I encountered the well feared BSOD's and it took me to the point of reinstalling the Drivers, of course such action ruined everything and I was unable to achieve the previous settings, even took screenshots of the settings I had wh…
