Hope someone can help me out here, I'm going kind of crazy trying to sort this out. So I just upgraded from my old GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB to a brand spanking new GTX 970 4GB(not for FSX's sake mind you) and here I was expecting maybe a little modest boost in performance, but instead I'm experiencing the exact opposite. Framerates have actually taken a heavy hit, even with DX10 using the Fixer, which ran just gloriously on my 660Ti with all settings and sliders maxed. I even tried deleting the FSX.cfg and letting FSX remake it as well as deleting the cached shaders, and framerates are still down and won't run entirely smooth. Hi, I'm planning to buy a new monitor and this should be a 21:9 ratio curved ultra wide. Are there any experiences on the LG29UC96 2560x1080p? This would be a monitor that's not too expensive, like 34" etc. So, if there is anybody out there who could tell me anything about it would be great, especially resolution, colour, contrast. I am running P3D with a GTX 970. Daniel

FYI - I updated my GTX 970 GeForce driver yesterday to the ver: 361.43 released 12/21/2015 and FSX (boxed on Win 8.1 on a high end 4790K PC) won't start and the whole CPU freezes up on the splash screen. I rolled back to ver: 359.06 released 12/01/2015 and all is back to normal. Bruce

Looking at a new card. Is the 960 series ok for FSX? Or should I save some more for a 970? Trying not to break the bank. Is there a big difference? Thinking of P3D sim too.

Hi, I decided to post this separately in case the mention of FSUIPC meant people didn't view the post. This is a long-time problem I realise, I even had it when I had two 24'' monitors (1900x1080 & 1900x1200). I have since upgraded to the 34'' Samsung 3440x1440 curved display. I held on to the 1900x1080 monitor to place display 2D flight panels and instruments. However, now when I drag them across they unsurprisingly are still set up for the 3440x1440 display and are absolutely huge and pixellated. I always play in full screen with DX10 and the paid version of Steve's fixer. Is there a fix for this in the fsx.cfg file (it currently has the correct resoluti…

Hi everyone, I know this isn't exactly the appropriate thread for this problem, but I've already posted in Pete Dowson's forum and haven't received a reply yet. But I do have a more relevant problem as well that I will post separately. I recently upgraded my 24" 1900x1080 monitor to the Samsung 34" curved 3440x1440. Big, big change, but all good. My FSUIPC problem relates to a Lua script I used to output text values to my monitor. Since upgrading, when I press the relevant key, they're nowhere to be seeing. In the unlikely event that someone else has experienced a similar problem I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks,

What is the best way to set up 3 monitors given the following options: A.Nvidia surround ( significant distortion on the both the left and right panel ) Center panel is good or B.Triple head to go.... ( i dont own this ) but before i purchase one I wonder if i will get the same side distortion. My good old 22" Viewsonic that I bought in 2006 (!!!) is slowly dying and I'm thinking about getting a new one. I've recently acquired a second monitor. I'd like to use it to expand my virtual cockpit across both monitors to give me a panoramic view of where I'm going. I foolishly believed that I could just plug it in and go. However it would appear, after further research, that I'm going to require something like Nvidia Surround. So far I am confused and would like some clarification. Will Nvidia Surround work with just two monitors? I only seem able to find info about 3 monitors. Do both monitors need to be identical ? Hi. I've recently finished my 4K PC build, and after playing around with the graphic settings, I noticed that 1080p resolution is sharper than 4K. I initially wanted to build a 4K setup so the text and panels will be clear to read, but it turns out that the 1080p setting gives a clearer image. Can anyone explain why?

Hi Guys, I got my two new monitors setup for my two 90' side window views. I'm now running three monitors, my questions is, is there a way to remove the thin white frame on the active monitor? or at least change the color to black? Folks, I had a LG 21:9 Ultrawide 29EA73 coupled with a Dell Ultra Sharp U2412 IPS and unfortunately I was away over the New Year period and was burgled. They took the LG which I really liked and want to replace with another Ultrawide. I see there are curved screens now but they may be beyond my budget. Hi Guys I have been given permission (!!) to use an area in my spare bedroom to improve my current flight sim setup. It is nicely set up as an alcove at 6ft across and 6 ft deep. I don't have the money to build a full home cockpit but i would like a large screen setup. Therefore my question is this? 1) Do i buy 2 large screens if so what ones? 2) Or 3 screens and again if so what ones? 3) something else? Does anyone have any suggestions? I just started this morning re-using the DSR feature at 2x.0 times my native resolution at a 33 percent smoothing factor. In all my sims...fabulous visual results! I have no nVidia Inspector profile (deleted) for P3D v2.4, and keeping at DSR 2x/33 smoothness settings, a constant FPS-snug against the limited 33 FPS threshold. I am running an intense FSX-boxed nVidia Inspector profile for both FSX boxed, and FS9, with equal fabulous visuals and FPS performance For XPX.45b1, as it is OpenGL...I always delete the nVidia Inspector profile...for it is redundant. Hello I have just upgraded to a GTX 970 4GB card and I have noticed in my device manager I have two entries listed under display adapters one is the GTX 970 and the other is Intel HD graphics 4600. As far as I can see my pc is using the GTX 970 as I have it connected to my monitor via HDMI and FSX recognises the card.Do I need to disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS ( its currently enabled) or should I just leave well alone. many thanks Daz

Yesterday, I installed the latest Nvidia driver 361.43 (WHQL). When I start FSX (classic boxed, SP2), the preview window on the Free Flight screen is black and the entire PC freezes (no mouse movement, no keyboard response, time frozen). A forced reboot is needed. I started to narrow down the cause by disabling my Nvidia Inspector profile completely (changed behavior flag to 'treat override as application controlled'). This disabled the AA (I had 16xS before) and the problem was solved: FSX started as normal without freezing and black preview.
