Wouldn't it be cool to immerse yourself in the cockpit of an A380 using the Occulus Rift (http://www.oculusvr.com/). I hope it gets supported. Anyone else looking forward to it?

Something has been bugging me for a while. I am using 3 monitors setup with NVIDIA surround. While sitting in VC (PMDG 777 for example) taxiing, I am on the left seat of the cockpit but the center line is always in the center of the middle monitor. Intuitively, I tend to taxi with the fact that I am sitting on the left side of the plane in mind, but this intuition is not correct in FSX world, so the plane would end up taxiing on the right hand side of the center line, if I taxi in the way that I feel it is correct in the real world. I know the problem is that when I move in VC, the outside view does not move with me so it is always center. Is there a way to get around…

Hi Folks, I've been trying some FS9 addon aircraft in FSX with pretty good results except for some of the gauges. I keep getting messages about some of the gauges, either that they are FS98 and not supported or whatever.Is there any way to at least eliminate the error messages I get when loading these excellant FS9 aircraft? How do you folks get around or eliminate the messages? Thanks in advance....

Is there such a thing? I've seen radio stacks for the iPad and Android tablets, but not Windows. If not an "app", is there a way to display the radio stack on a second computer, say through an add-on via Simconnect? My tablet's running Windows 8.1.

Hi, I got a very fast motherboard, 8GB RAM, i7-3770K 4core at 4.1GHz... you can see it in my signature... But still I get only about 20 to max 30 FPS and very low in sceneries like KBOS or KJFK or EDDH (all bought addon sceneries) flying with A2A C172. Why do I get so low FPS? Should I not be able to push the FSX settings to max with my hardware?

The third night of ASN trial and I'm totally sold. Works like a charm on my rig, no stutters, FPS is on par with other weather engines. Was trying to test turbulence last night, so I used the searching function and chose an area was raining and had some wind. After loading, it turned out that there was actually a light to med thunderstorm! Like others said, the weather of fsx world has never been so thrilled!The visiability changing when near or enter or out a cloud; The excelent simulated turbulence, the awsome sound and texture of lighting(REX4 texture direct has credit of them apparently), I think I can't fly without it from now on. Hello! My friend is having some problems. He has just installed fscopilot and fsinn but when he starts fsx there's nothing but fsuipc under the Addons bar. He had shut off firewall and anti virus and the installation is correctly done! What else could be the error? He is also running fsx as an administrator. Best Regards Simon S. Hi i am trying to play FSX for the first time i am using FSX with acceleration pack. My computer is an i5 4670k 8gb ram 650 ti 1gb nvidia card. My problem i9s the landscape beyond airports is black or blue and thats it. I have tried cleaning it and following a tutorial on how to install all to no avai. The flight sim in action works fine but everywhere beyond airports is 4 bit colour.

I've been considering flying completely around the country in FSX and was thinking of buying the Eaglesoft Citation II to do the trip in.Screenshots for this plane seem to be lacking on the internet, I was wondering if the plane came with more than one US registration, and if so if someone had screenshots.I also am wondering if the plane's autopilot handles glideslope intercepts and tracking smoothly to the ground, rather than chasing it all over the place (very annoying to me).I'd love to hear anybody's opinion of this plane - it looks very interesting.Thanks,

I'm doing a complete uninstall and resinstall of FSX (complete with a brand new user account on my PC) - i.e. totally starting from scratch. Is there a right and wrong way to uninstall? For example, I have FSX itself, plus countless add on programs. My plan was to leave any addons installed that are OUTSIDE of the main FSX directory (FSGlobal Mesh, FSBuild, REX etc) and just uninstall FSX itself from the add/remove programs menu, then just manually remove any leftover files in my root FSX directory. However, I have about 50 entries in my "Add/Remove programs" for payware airports, to just uninstall that one particular airport. Do I need to go through and m…

I have noticed this problem several times, and at different airports. On rare occasions, I see an AI plane without a visible tailfin! I remember seeing an Iberia A320 taxiing out to the runway at Heathrow without a tailfin (presumably the pilot forgot to complete the external check before entering the cockpit), and I have just seen a TNT 737 landing at Dublin minus a tailfin (a magnificent demonstration of flying skill that should be rewarded with a knighthood). Has anyone else seen this, and is there a solution? I use a mixture of UT2 and freeware AI plane models.

After installing an aircraft in FSX it was not being displayed as a choise when I select Change to the curent aircraft. However the aircraft is listed in the Sim Objects/Aircraft folder. I installed the same aircraft in P3D and it is displayed as a choise and all works fine.

Hi! Im living 10 min near the airport of Arlanda outside Stockholm and I fly alot in and out my local airport. I have a question regarding the CAVOK in OpusFSX. As the metar at arlanda shows CAVOK the metar in Opus is also CAVOK and its resulting in a clear and blue sky. Today the sky here is like, hazed... Looks like a high cloud layer or something, which Opus dont show. Any ideas if there is a fix for this so the sky can become near the to the real thing? I have FSX with PMDG 747-400 and the 8i. PMDG does not have Delta Airlines livery for the 747-400 and I tried to install from the AVSIM library with no success. While it is easy installing add on liveries that come with the product purchased, it does does not work if it is from the AVSIM library. I would down load the aircraft livery, extract from my download file and place it in the Simobject file. C:ProgramFiles(86)Microsoftgames/MicrosoftFlightSimulatorX/SimObjects/Airplanes/PMDG747-400. Hi people. This is my first post so apologies if it may be in the wrong section. I have found a lot of useful answers here so hopefully someone can help. Firstly i usually use a goconnect server supplied with the airline im on but its quite laggy and i am trying to do some formation flying so trying the open servers. Basically it seems i can connect directly using the IP address on servers as i spawn and can open and use the chat window. I can change views and pan around the aircraft but the aircraft is not recieving any input with controls ie engine start, rudder and wing movements using both my yoke or the keyboard keys. Hi all... I'm using FSX & Windows 7: Was doing some checking using the XML File Tool kit and it came up with the alarming findings that I'm missing the FSX exe.xml and Simconnect.xml. To deal with the latter..I've got the simconnect.ini and I launched it and it says please "wait" while it "configures" There's a brief green 'progress' bar and then nothing...does that mean its worked? I can't find any evidence of it...but I'm probably not looking in the right place. As for the FSX exe.xml...checked with the thread here 'How to generate a new exe.xml file' and I'm a little confused as to the way forward...I've checked where it should be and can't see it. Read…

I haven't seen any hard hitting reviews yet, and I'm curious what people think about REX Texture Direct. To make sure we're comparing apples to apples, please provide: 1. Your current weather engine (AS2012, ASN, Opus, FSGW); 2. What texture set you used prior to REX Texture Direct; and 3. Whether or not you are using any "post-production" effects (shader mods, etc.). Oh, and please for the love of everything holy, none of this politically correct "It's subjective, and I don't want to impose my opinion on others" silliness. Just tell me what you think and whether you think it was worth the investment.

Hi, I must say that the iFly 744 is a fantastic bird, however it seems that sometimes the values in the MCP windows will not change. THe autopilot will not engage either. However, when this happens, everything else still works without problems. I don't believe that this is an FSUIPC problem as I have FSUIPC 4. (unregistered) Anyone else having this problem? ~Carl

I have been an x-plane user since v10 came out and while I enjoy it immensely, it just feels like I am alone in the skies and on ATC.
