I've search the forums and Google (mother of all knowledge) but keep coming up blank. I'm hoping someone here will have the answer to my problem. The issue: when flying the Q400 I use FSX's default ATC. I load the flight plan, enter the details into the FMS, dial in the radio frequencies via the FMS tuner and communicate with the default ATC using the standard Press 1 for saying this, 2 for saying that system. Everything works perfectly for almost an hour. Then, inexplicably, the default FSX ATC stops giving me an option to reply. Hi, Do anyone know that what is the approach and landing speed and flaps for the A330? I currently approach at 200-220 knots flaps set to 1-2. My nose pitches up on approach before glideslope and i think the problem is on the speed or flaps. Thank you for your replies.

So, here I am, migrating to Boeing, after 2 years flying with Airbus. The reason is simple - I'm fed up with very narrow choice of quality Airbus addons for FSX. I enjoyed with Airbus X Extended in tha last month, but honestly I can't limit myself only to A320/321. What are other options? There isn't any! Wilco Airbus Evolution? HAve it, didn't liked it, and it stutters like mad, no thanks. Blackbox 320/330? Never bought beta stuff, and this case isn't any different. Just downloaded the Q400 today. Still getting grips on where to find things. Umm, looks like I need to get the EzyDok camera, otherwise a nightmare. I have not set a sim up in a very long time. My son wants rudder pedals to practice for flight school. I guess I am trying to go a step further. The setup I have seen I liked the look of was FSX, active sky next, ORBX, REX4. I also have looked at GEX, FEX, UTX, Opus. Not knowing how any of these truly perform I am asking for help. I would like the realism for sky, ground obstacles, water, flight, and weather if I am going to do this correctly. I do not even know how all this works any more. Hello Q400 drivers, I would like to fly training patterns the same way they would be flown during a type rating on order to train myself. I am wondering about a few things to set up the aircraft for that purpose : - What would be the typical load for such a mission? Can the dash be flown empty with correct CoG without the use of ballast? - What would be the typicla fuel load? - How is the FMS used in that case? Is there any particular setup? - How would a typical pattern be flown regarding speed, altitude, timing, gear,flaps and spoilers configuration? Dear all, I'm facing a very weird and upsetting obstacle in installing REX 4. I've downloaded this soft through simmarket and have launched the setup.exe included within the REX 4 folder. During the installation process, I've been forced to install as well .NET Framework 4.5 prior to the installation of REX 4. Ok, for me that was fine as I already saw that in other software installations. The thing is, during this installation, I've got a message saying "an other processus is currently being installed. This is an expensive hobby, even if you buy most of your add ons on sale!.. But still.. I notice that when ever I install/resintall add ons.. some will ask me if it's for FSX or P3D.. Think I remember seeing that on ORBX and Carenado? I'm just wondering if there is a master list somewhere. I do NOT on P3D at this time.. but I assume at some point I will have to make the move. I was just wondering, what is the recommended speed for a descent from cruise altitude? Say I am flying an airliner at 35,000ft and I am told by ATC to descend, what is the most realistic speed? Currently I set my IAS to 250kts and allow the aircraft to slowly loose speed during the descent. I very rarely fly above 250kts at 10,000ft or below unless I am granted permission. Also, what is the recommended vertical speed? I set mine to -1800. And when below 10,000ft, judging on the distance from the airport I set it to -800. Any tips? Thank you kindly! ^_^

Hi folks, Can anyone explain to me the following, I have both Opus and ASN, the other day I was cursing along at 34k with Opus and the wind was 145/20 so I wanted to know what ASN would show I shut down Opus fired up ASN and the wind was reported at 210/35. Now I understand Opus uses Grib does ASN use this if so why the difference...and who is more accurate.. Any experts out there.. With thanks

In Prepar3d 1.4 the surface wind setting shows 10 gusting 25 after opus weather download but on awos in sim there are no gusts mentioned and no gusts felt in flight, nor are there any gusts mentioned in Opus weather reports. Does anyone have similar problem or solution. Thanks, Eric

I am hoping somebody could explain the process in how to properly record the PMDG 737. I've tried to find tutorials but most are just the finished product of a video and never explain what settings were used. Like for using FS Recorder what should I set the record interval at. I think the default is 1/4 of a second or something. Is that correct or should that be changed? Should I check all the options that are available to be recorded? So far I understand I need to record a flight. Then play it back and while doing that I need to start the video rendering. I found a tutorial on those settings. Hello Team and greetings. I have been suffering from a minor graphics issue that is turning annoying over time and I need some guidance as to how to potentially address it. Hello everyone, (1) Thought I would ask this before I break a rock with my forehead. So this has been intriguing for some time now. Why is it that my FSX will not retain the same brightness and colors as my desktop or websites, or any other application? As soon as I fly, the entire graphics becomes more dull and less colors. Is there a way within FSX CFG too adjust the colors strength or brightness to remain the same? I have a stable 2700k @ 5.0Ghz ,1866 Ram, ASN, FSX with DX-10 (Steve's fix), Nvidia 670 Card. Perhaps someone can help, since I'm stumped. I have a new pc. I loaded FSX Gold into C:\FSX and restarted as was suggested on a forum here. I then loaded Acceleration Followed by FTX Global PMDG NGX When I started FSX it asked me to activate acceleration which I did. At that point it went into a loading mode with the generic Microsoft Flight Simulator light blue opening page. It has not moved from there for 15 minutes, it does not do the loading scenery progress bars or anything else Any ideas?

Have just DL'ed the IFly 744, and have a very interesting problem. Had no problem at all with the DL, the SP3, the NAVDATA, all went fine.So, off to the Test Flight from KSEA to KSFO. Got the Route loaded, adjusted fuel, on to the Active, T/O power...all neat......THEN....Gear Up!! (sort of) The mains came up nicely, but the Nose Gear just hangs there, and the Gear Position Indicator show In Transit.......So, is this a glitch in the Airplane, the Download, or My Confuser.All opinions Welcome.Russ

Please help me with two problems! I have a problem with two graphic things in my map over Sweden. 1. I have a updated addon ("amateur" build) airport (Bromma) that is made for fsx. But after install, the new fresh airport and FSX "original" Bromma airport is put together in scenery when I load it? How can I remove FSX original and only use/see the addon Bromma airport???? 2. I use GEX Europe 2.10 and UTX Europe together and when a fly from Malmo to Copenhagen, the Sea is gone and there is land texture between Sweden and Denmark? How do I fix it????? Hi there Stephen, i know its been discussed a lot here, but do you think you will be able to totally eliminate wind shifts in the high alt's ? the thing is that if i use the stable GRIB, its now not simulating any close to reality when the winds stays the same till approach. but if i dont use it sooner or later i will be in some severe wind shift. i already have all the smoothing, friendly and automatic option on. do you think it is possible that in the CLB/CRZ/DES stages in the higher alt's to make the winds changes slower and not all of a sudden jump some 90 deegres or/and 30 knots in a second ? thank you !

hey! I need help, Im a bit of a beginner! I use FS Global 2010 and because I'm swedish I also use FS Genesis Swedish mesh program. Today I also installed FS Global Ultimate (europe/africa. Two questions... 1. After I installed FS Global Ultimate, I read the manual (I know, dumb &@($*) and it said that before the install I should have uncheck the FS Global 2010 boxes in the scenery witch I did'nt! Do FS Global Ultimate work anyway?? or do I need to start all over? 2. Does all three mesh program work together to get the most good experience or do I need to choose one of them??

Hi I wonder if anyone can help with this sporadic but irritating problem? Very occasionally my engine sounds disappear for absolutely no reason although all the other sounds remain - wind sounds, switches, gear and flap sounds etc. It sometimes happens when I change from cockpit to spot view or back, but there is no pattern to this problem and I can't seem to identify anything else that leads to it happening. It doesn't happen on all flights or with any specific aircraft, default or addon! Any ideas would be appreciated thanks. Bill

I simply need to know if my current setup will be sufficient in supporting a (relatively) smooth operation of FSX. Mid-2012 Macbook Pro Retina (will run Windows 7 Professional 64-bit via Bootcamp) Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB I plan on assigning roughly 130-140 GB for the Windows partition, although I realize this is a rather low number. Spent hundreds of dollars on FSX addons and aircraft only to fly any one aircraft around for a couple of circuits and never touch it again. Most often it's not the developers fault just bad choice of aircraft type. Such a waste.

Every now and then, a problem comes along in FSX that needs to be solved. Most of the time I can do this on my own by aid from google. However, this time Im a bit stuck because I just cannot wrap my mind around WHY this happens.. FSX has now been running without a flaw for almost a year (after having had issue after issue after issue), and suddenly, on approach to Long Beach today on the Airbus X with Opus running the weather. And suddenly I start getting vertical spears/needles flashing around me at various rates and fps crashing down to about 1 fps on the worst..
