Hello everyone. I am new to the forums and flight simulation in general. Thanks for taking the time to check out my thread. I am trying to start up a default FSX Cessna 172SP from cold and dark. I have managed to do his successfully but I have one question: what is the purpose of the Fuel Control Switch and how does it differ from the Fuel Pump switch on the main panel? Also, should this be set to "Cut" or "Open" during shutdown? My cold and dark actually starts with it Open. Thank you very much for your help!

I've been a fan of RealAir's past efforts. I own their Decathlon, their Scout, their SF.260 and their freeware C172 update. The SF.260 has been my favorite FS9 plane for quite a while, and it's the aircraft I tend to fly for VFR touring.Despite my confidence in RealAir, I've held off on buying the Spitfire because my FS9 time has been somewhat limited. Correction: Title should note that this brings FTX-G lighting to UTX roadways....just to clarify. Some need to do this to bring up the FSX road files into the viewing pane. Just click on-off-on each time you use it. This might have been a bug...but this takes care of it...

As the title says, How can I learn the weather over intersections without using the fsx default map? But I want to know wind data for certain altitudes. I have REX overdrive. Help me!

A remark in the "CLS 767" thread about the LevelD 767 flying "like the real thing (within the confines of FSX)" has made me curious. How much du you expect of flight dynamics? Is it enough that, say, a heavy plane feels heavy and that it roughly delivers published performance figures? Or do you throw a plane away if real world performance charts aren't matched by, say, 2% within all flight regimes? Are there any add-on planes that are right on the mark in terms of real world numbers (at least the NGX and Q400, I suppose)? How do you conclude that a FDE of an airplane is good or bad? Not to sure why this is happening but whenever I use Opus and the Q400 I get a juddering/flickering image (it's not confined to when wx is updating, which was my original thought) Turn Opus off - juddering stops - Opus On & juddering starts. Net result I have to load the wx with Opus & turn Opus off, not ideal. I do not use Opus cameras, just Ezdok Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I love to fly NGX in to Flytampa KMDW but as challenging as it is on the sim that place must be an operational nightmare for controlers and pilots flying jets in rw. Operating on a postage stamp with all the volume SW puts in and out. Totally surrounded by development any off airport accident insures colladeral damage. Longest runway is only 6522 ft. Multiple runway crossing necessary when taxing in and out except 22L and 31C. On RNAV to 22L final app course is 15 degree divergant from runway hdg. Gusty winds (thanks ASN) and KORD traffic. Need I mention last winter in Chicago. I just want to express my respect for these people and vent because I balked my approch to 22L.

I have a number of questions re FSX and Views. (1) What's the difference between Spot View and Locked Spot View? (2) I'm trying to figure out how to set a hot key for my outside Spot view. I go into the setup dialog and do a View->change key setting to F9 and then click OK, but when I'm back in the cockpit and press F9 nothing happens! I should mention that I am using Ezdok but I do not have any outside views at all in Ezdok. I don't like the way they work so I have deleted them all. I only use Ezdok for cockpit views. I can get by with one outside view and I like the Spot view but I can't seem to get a hot key to work for that view. (3) Also, I wou…

Hi all, I accidentally just posted this in the missions forum so I'm putting it in here. I'm running FSX, ORBX Global, REX and Ezdok. All terrain has a strange blue translucent cover over it like in the image attached. The terrain gets this strange blur/blue-grey cover even at fairly low altitudes. 3000ft in the picture. Any ideas? Hi, I'm trying to do ILS landings in the standard Boeing 737, but I can't figure out how to make the planes autopilot descent with the glideslope of the ILS. I have my appoach button on and the plane does get centered correctly, but I still have to manage my altitude myself. Help would be appreciated

Hi guys, i'm wirting after 1 yeay with my PC, following various guides like Word Not Allowed's, Fsx settings demistified, or the Avsim one. With any kind of settings i obtain the same result flying my NGX: low fps on ground (complex addon sceneries) and blurry scenery while cruising. My hW: - i7 3770k @ 4.5GHz - GTX 660Ti - FSX on a Samsung 840Pro SSD - RAM 8gb DDR3 1600MHz My actual settings FSX.cfg can be found below. It's frustrating to fly in this conditions. Having got AICarriers2 running, I am trying to add an independent formation, HMS Victorious, in the conf.d directory (in Notebook), but I am denied access when trying to save the amended data. I should be grateful for any advice.

Just released today and looking quite impressive! My finger was hovering over the purchase button when I first saw this but I decided to hesitate when I noticed that the install size for this was 3.2GB which is 1.2GB more than Mega Airport Dublin. I think I might just wait and see some reviews on this specifically with regard to performance (I am certain that visually it will be a masterpiece!) as flying one of my favourite aircraft (the PMDG 777) into Dublin pushes my VAS usage up into the high 3s and I just wonder whether Mega Brandenburg (given it's install size) might push it above the dreaded 4 particularly if flying there from another detailed airport! Looking to expand my payware airports. Currently only have Orbx England so all the airports here are covered nicely. I want to start doing some longer haul flights out of the UK to somewhere about 7-8 hours out in the 777. Not bothered about real world routes, I just want your opinions on some good payware airports. I'm not interested in Dubai or JFK!

Hi, I have recently begun having problems with sporadic, uncommanded flap deployments on both the PMDG 777 and the NGX. The problem is likely on my end, but I am curious if anyone else has encountered this, or has suggestions on troubleshooting it. Here is a summary of what I am experiencing: 1. After certain keystrokes ([open ATC window] and [pause simulation]), the flaps will fully extend. This does not happen consistently every time I used these keystrokes, but only sometimes. Hello everyone, I discovered this plane today and installed it according to the intructions. I have FSUIPC 4.0 in my FSX\old installation in Windows 7 32 I found out this plane has callout in the sound folder, but mine do not sound; is it because i am using my version of FSUIPC and not the one that's provide in the package 4.1 or maybe because i didn't install as Adminitrator?The folder where this sound are is in my main FSX tree:I Fly 747-400 Please advice? Hi so I have this issue when on flights my textures disappear. (Light blue boxes all over the map) This is primarily on water and sometimes though, it follows me (The plane). So I have read two different things online about the water settings. One says that Low2x shows the sun/moon and stars, aircraft and clouds. The other says it just shows the aircraft. Which one is correct? I like the cloud shadows on the water but don't want to lose performance on Mid2x. What is best?

Hi, I'm fairly new to FSX. I have a great little program tha can turn your aircraft during push back and control taxi speed. I've installed it in Posky and FSX default aircraft but can't seem to get it to work in Ifly 747-400. This sim is a trial before I purchase the NG. Thanks much, GeneG

when i fly my airplanes,i have a mojor drop in fps. i did the renaming of default to defaultold but its still laggy. ay other easy/effective solutions? please help.
