Hey guys, I've been trying to get the sim installed on my new 8.1 machine but without any success. I keep getting the following error message - It's my old deluxe edition dvds What should I do ? is there any way to get it installed on 8.1 or should i have to revert back to 7 ? I know there is no exact answer to this but I am just trying to find a ballpark FPS that if I have my system tuned right I should be getting. For the example I used I had these add-ons running. PMDG 737 ASN REX 4 UT2 100% commerical traffic 0% GA traffic FSDT KDFW My scenery settings in the sim were what is suggested in the avsim guide. So if I remember correctly Mesh complexity 100 mesh resolution 2 texture resolution 7 water effects low 2.x scenery complexity extremely dense auto gen normal all traffic at 5% I am using NO FPS limiter, and am using Nvidia inspector and followed the guide here on the site. Please forgive me if this has been covered before but it hasn't showed up in my results. I just got back to FSX and learned to navigate by VOR and program the autopilot but it doesn't work quite how I want. I key in the ILS frequency of the destination runway into the gps, switch to GPS from NAV, take-off, switch on autopilot (altitude, VOR hold, airspeed etc) and I can see the aircraft becomes aligned with the runway on my flight instruments yet when I get closer to the destination airport the runway is skewed and positioned perpendicular with the aircraft... I thought that if the aircraft shows aligned with the runway on my instruments it should also be aligned …

For some time now I have had the following issue which I seem unable to solve. I am using Active Sky Next with REX 4 textures. The issue is that when flying at say 35,000 feet I do not see the individual fluffy white clouds below which you would normally see when flying at this height. When the ASN weather gauge shows clouds below they are just not there which is just so frustrating. I have been in contact with ASN but they do not seem to be able to come up with the solution. Hi all This is my first post in any forum discussing an enjoyable approach. I don't normally discuss these because I figure we all have our favourite areas in which to fly, but on this particular occasional I had to share. Using OLBA X, I flew from Jeddah to Beirut. Jeddah, in my opinion, is completely dull, but the approach into runway 3 at OLBA was something else. Straddling a hillside and the ocean, coming in from the south, one gets to enjoy the entire city lights at dusk coming in, with the Mediterranean Sea to the left and the city to the right. I'm looking for high quality scenery for some China airports. I have started flying China Southern Cargo routes and thanks to Imaginesim ZSPD I have their hub. But I'm looking for ZUCK, ZGGG, ZSQD, ZHCC. I have great addon scenery for all their foreign destinations.

Hi wondered if any one has any suggestions on how to fix. I have them ticked in settings and they used to work fine however appear to have completely disappeared now. I am not sure exactly when it happened about 3 months ago possibly when I undated my nvidia driver. Any one else experienced this any any suggestions on how to get them back ? Thanks Steve

I searched the avsim postings on this topic, but most of it related to RC issues. My issue is more specific to Ultimate Traffic 2 aircraft CFG. I have many airlines in UT2 which are not called by the default ATC. An example is Jetblue. It is simply called "120" aka the flight number. I know that by going into the UT2 aircraft cfg file, I can change ATC Name to read JET BLUE instead of JetBlue, and that solves that aspect. What I am looking for is a list of other airlines and cargo lines, where this issue also occurs and what is the ATC Name that I should use. (I also read suggestions to use EVP, but I couldn't get that to change UT2 callsign issues) …

Hi all,I was wondering if there was a light piston twin for FSX with the quality of say the Carenado Cessna singles or Digital Aviation's DO-27. Main reason is because i want to fly this aircraft for my VA. So I need the livery for it. If anyone could help me out with this it would be very helpful. I cant find any liveries for these aircraft anywhere. :0

Hey there, since neither google nor searching this forum gave me any results, I'll just aks and hope this hasn't been answered elsewhere. I recently purchased OpusFSX and switched over from using EZdok to use OpusFSX' Live Camera. I was able to set up the views for most of my add-on aircraft, but I'm not able to get the iFly 737 NG planes to show up in OpusFSX' Aircraft Types list. I checked all my permissions and everything seems okay. Is there anything special to consider when setting up the iFly views or am I just being stupid. Thanks for your replies. Does anyone know how to contact Xtreme Prototypes? I have their Learjet and I have a couple of questions regarding it. The website forms for support all give an Internal Error page when submitted, the Lear 20 link to get the aircraft manual is also dead. Are they still in operation? I did an Air Hauler flight from Chongqing Jiangbei Intl to Kai Tak today and when I flew into Kai Tak on the RW13 approach, I noticed that the beacon light was acting up... Any ideas on why it's doing this? Here's a picture:

Just a quick question. My FSX.cfg looks pretty cluttered without any spaces between categories. [GRAPHICS] [sOUND] [Display] etc. etc. Is it okay to create a space between each category or do I need to keep them as they are in order for FSX to properly function? [GRAPHICS] [sOUND] [Display] etc. etc.

I have read, somewhere, that it is possible to run FSX across at least two computers. I recently added most of the Saitek Pro Flight series panels etc and my system took a really large FPS hit. I run 13 Saitek USB devices and 4 monitors, 3 on TH2Go de.I do have another cpmputer that could take up some of the load if this is possible,Any direction to similar threads and or how too's would be a big help.ThanksRick S.

Evening gents, I wonder if you can shed some light on this matter. I recently re installed FSX and I have been having some Issues. Mainly missing world textures. First of all my system if below. Intel i5 4670k 3.8Ghz Nvidia GTX 770 2GB VRAM (someone mentioned a tweak for graphics cards with a decent amount of VRAM...not too sure?) 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast 2400Mhz RAM ASUS Z87 Mobo So I would say it is a fairly decent system and can run fsx well I get decent frames but as of yet I have not used any tweaks on the CFG other than Affinity Mask=14 The addons that I have installed lately and use often that could maybe cause this I don't know? - REX E…

Hi Stephen, I really like your Opus Program, ironing out my last final problem. Downloaded OpusFSX_V345 Beta.msi and after uninstall loaded it on Server. On the client I copied this file from the server and ran it on the Client. I now have an Opus program entry in Control Panel, Programs on the Client. I am getting the same problem as I did with the older version of OpusFSX. OpusFSX server error message. "Unable to transfer the camera configuration data across to system FSXCLIENT" Please note that everything else works on Opus. except the A2A 172, which is another post. Hi All, Just wanted to say a big up to Rob at Realair. I did something really stupid last week, in a late night bleary session - I am a Duke Turbine owner. Thought, great - must take advantage of the upgrade to the B60 Duke v2, It didn't work of course, and neither had my brain, I'd downloaded an upgrade to something I didn't have (the B60 piston Duke v1). So, when i try to switch my view to spot or other outside view, it wont let me. It just quickly switch back to inside.. And when i am looking at virtual cockpit and try to move head, it just snaps quickly.

Need some pointers if poss: At what speed to i start dropping the flaps for landing? Does the FMC provide an optimal cruise altitude? If not, how do i work this out?
