Hello all, I kindly introduce you to PCFlightsimnews! A rather new webblog that brings flightsimnews every day. Although we started just a month ago we already had around 1000 visitors a week increasing. That tells us that, among the many more available blogs on the net to choose from, there is still a need for newspublishing websites for our great hobby. PCFlightsimnews hopes to bring that kind of extra what people need to come and visit over and over again to keep up with all the news, goodies, tips and tricks and many more about the wonderful world of virtual aviation. PCFlightsimnews: All platforms, all publishers, all developers, one blog! Please pay us a…

Gentlemen, FSX comes with an interactive ATC system that will direct your entire flight from takeoff to landing, but I see these pre-designated SIDs and STARs routes for the higher detailed add-ons and I am confused as to how they mesh into the ATC system in real life. If they are embedded into a real life flight plan does the ATC system allow the pilot/aircraft to follow the FMC's preplanned automatic course or does the ATC just give directions using the guidelines of the pre-planned SIDs/STARs routing embedded in the filed flightplan? Regards

A monarch flight operated by Aurela Airlines skidded off the taxiway whilst taxiing to the gate at bhx. Seems to me he 'understeered' the nose wheel trying to make a corner a little to fast, or maybe putting a lot of power on whilst taking the corner causing the nose wheel to 'understeer' The BBC report speculates that the brakes had locked up causing the aircraft to skid. But as you probably know 737's don't have nose wheel brakes. http://www.bbc.co.uk...ingham-19676990 How ironic eh? Another Monarch airliner 'understeering' at LGW. Seems to me in this video that the A330 is lining up a little to fast. Just shows you though how tough nose gears are to have tonnes…

5:00 AM show for a 6 o'clock go in SFO this morning. Took the 4:40 shuttle from the short layover, and after 4 stops, got through security at 5:10. Straight to the jet which sat all night. Parking brake pressure sat around 2,000 PSI, in the orange band. 3 of the 4 main tires with low pressure. A chip in a fan blade in the left engine. Cracked taxi light. 2 of the 3 exterior emergency exit placards under the FO window deteriorated. EDIT: Edited to leave excerpt from artile, which Chris provides a link to below.

Hi. Will pilots or cabin crews get fired if they report unidentified objects they have witnessed during airborne? is this why, if it is true, they choose to keep it for themselves? thanks

This is off the topic of aviation, but after seeing this story I couldn't help but share. This is an amazing lady to be as articulate and active as she is at her age. Before aviation took off, there were the old classic cars--and she has certainly seen it all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CHwwwJ83oWo Regards, John

It's something they're testing and only available to staff right now if I understand correctly. There was a poll a week or so back asking what people thought of it.

Even FSX would have declared that flight as a frame crash. They just let the plane ride the wave I guess even though a little deviation left or right would have helped. cheers,

  14. The United States has officially denied that it has drawn up plans to invade Canada. That is all that the spokesperson for the State Department would admit publically when grilled at today's press conference, noting that any such action would be classified. President Obama has not yet made any direct statement on any proposed military invasion of America's neighbor to the north, in line with White House policy not to comment on possible pending military operations. <_< http://www.cbc.ca/ne...ade-canada.html

Not being one for Angry Birds, I have been seeking a nice casual time waster for my IOS (Phone or Tablet) devices with limited success. There are a lot of games, but nothing seemed to catch my eye and the one thing that did, Plague Incorporated, was not really my cup of tea. Now, in one day I have found two little gems and my search is over. Just in case somebody else is looking for some quick fun, I am passing on the names! ^_^

I have been flying the FSX BE58 with the garmin 1000 glass cockpit & can't seem to figure out how to move the cursor bar when I select "Procedure". It automatically comes up to the "Approach". I can select "enter" but can't find the right button to move the cursor up or down to make any other selection in that box. Any help out there? I would appreciate it.

When I looked at one of my posts today, I noticed that my avatar/info on the left looked different. What is this I thought, some kind of award? Yup, a 'member leadership award.' Well, I was amazed, I mean, why me? But when I clicked on the award I saw it read... 'A great helpful person The leadership award is one that is given to members by their fellow community members. This award is for providing continuing leadership in the AVSIM forums and throughout our hobby. This award reflects the recipient's willingness to provide assistance and guidance to his or her fellow members without hesitation and thereby setting an example of leadership in our hobby' I'm sure there wi…

  23. CAE is the leader of full flight simulators. They own the biggest share of the market to provide full flight simulators to airlines. They build multi-million dollar reproductions of cockpits on moving platforms with dome screens. What if they decided to use their expertise and already existing software to create a flight sim for the public. I mean, that is what they do, their business is flight simulators and they do it well. That would be great news if they realised there is a gap and chose to fill it... What's your thought on this? Would you welcome the news? What would it take for you to be happy about a new company getting in the consumer flight sim market? Mar…

The title really says it all. We hear that people want to fly what they see at their airports. That may be true. But I'm curious to know what other reasons there might be. Some I can think of are: Used to fly this in the real world. Because it has all the toys that let it fly itself (so I don't have to) Because it has no toys so I have to fly it myself It's what flies over my favorite scenery package Because the cockpit looks cool Because the outside looks cool Because it sounds cool It flies sector lengths that fit my available time Because it's a classic (by whatever definition) Because it's the only one in my sim of choice No point making this a poll - t…

  25. So I was flying my 737NG (-700) from KSNA to KSJC which, for itself, is nice to look at. I flew the other direction with the 737-200, so this time the new bird was active. Now my planned FL was 380 and on my climb up, my right engine failed at around FL330. This did caused the usual reaction of mine, mainly consisting of 'OMG!' screams and some spilled coffee. However, it was actually not much of a trouble for the plane itself. It remained at FL330 and slowly lost speed. I set MCT on the remaining engine and looked up the max ALT and recommended speed in the FMC. After bleeding off some speed, I've reached the value where the drift-down had to start, so I did just…
