Hi guys. I'm not sure of anyone here is aware of FSFuel. It is a great program via an online server that provides a computerized flight plan and load sheet to specific aircraft in FSX/9. Unfortunately the server is offline it looks like, and I am unable to get in contact with the creators. It truly adds the utmost real world airline operations in FSX. My question is, is there another program that if you provide certain things such as the route, aircraft, alternates, etc. can it create a loadsheet and CFP for you? I am willing to pay some money for it but since it is for FSX, it won't be used for real world navigation. So hopefully there is an online server website that pr…

Hello all Having been an aviation enthusiast for virtually all my life, I feel that I've missed out on something special by never flying on a 747. I'm just wondering what's the cheapest way of getting a 747 flight into or out of the UK ? Ideally it would take the form of some short haul 'tag-along' flight, but I'm not sure if these exist anymore. I guess the aircraft types can change at a moment's notice but willing to take the chance. Any suggestions please ? Regards Gary

Hello again, I have had a new assignment set at my college in aircraft and airfield performance and this specific assignment is for a distinction. The question is: 'What are the benefits in de-rating for take off. Please describe and explain to your fullest knowledge and research made. Minimum of 2,000 words (WC)" So i have come up with a few key benefits on why de-rating affects aircraft performance and how it can affect other factors such as pax comfort etc By de-rating aircraft engines are not performing on full power which is increasing more stress on the engines. Therefore by de-rating there is less stress on the engines which can potentially make the life spa…

One week from today, on the evening of Saturday, October 27th, AVSIM will sponsor once again the AVSIM Simmer's Social. The Social is a non-hosted event where local flight sim enthusiasts and those who wish to travel to participate, join in the fun. The Social usually lasts 3 to 4 hours and allows you to meet your fellow enthusiasts from the area; putting faces to names that you see everyday here. The Social will take place at the Grande Pacific hotel in Victoria, British Columbia. The Social will kick off at about 7 p.m., and we'll be announcing the location within the hotel leading up to the event. We hope to see you there! This post has been promoted to an article

Hi there I am curious about the result of this poll. When I started my PPL, I thought that my flight sim knowledge would help me a lot, 50-70%. It did help me to think faster and visualize the problems better, but without any studies, my mark would have been closer to the 0-25%. Ben

Hello, Guys! Look at this image and tell me which route it is? or tell me route name. Also tell me which airlines use this? http://postimage.org/image/93raud0nl/ Since my childhood, I'm watching that this route has not changed yet. I actually, live in Faisalabad and watch that thousands of small airplane, I mean biggest plane but on 38000ft passes through this route. This route uses as both incoming and outgoing. In the image I have drawn a line where my eyes finishes. All domestic flights go so below. These flights always go over Faisalabad on top height and some Aircraft make a white smoke line behind them in winters. So what International flights are these?…

Today when I came home got a huge urge to turn off all the lights in the room, close the door, and just slide the volume slider on my mixer up and play some tunes. Indescribable feeling. I love the good music, especially listening in the dark room, eyes closed... the best thing, after couple of minutes of relaxation pictures start forming in my mind, pictures of orchestra playing the tune, and feeling start coming up which are never preset when just listening "as usual". But it mostly only happens with filmmusic and orchestral music. Not classical (although I like that too), but rather music directly from movies or composed by people who basically made tools for real …

It has always been great to share something useful and inspiring, that makes us keep learning something new. Everyone has devices to help themselves survive, some methods work for others and some don't. So here's what I do to reduce stress at work, life, etc: 1. Bear in mind that I wasn't meant to live forever. The world is an airport, people were born and they will take off. I am now waiting for my next flight, a one way ticket. So why do I have to let myself suffered too much for this temporary life. No matter how big and luxurious the airport is, it is not meant for me... Only a fool who thinks that the airport is a home while he /she forgets that soon or later he/…

As a request from a member of the VATPAC (VATSIM Pacific) Forum, I have been asked to drop the following story in here for your enjoyment! I hope you enjoy reading it, more than I enjoyed experiencing it! Well, it's high time I shared some wisdom from my 100hrs of flight time! After many months of weekends spent at Cessnock Aerodrome (YCNK) with Hunter Valley Aviation (Basair), it finally came time for me to do solo circuits! As any pilot will tell you, your first solo circuit is the most cereal experience you will ever have flying. Firstly, because your Instructor has taken enough Vallium to sign you out to do a circuit with out him/her sitting next to you to g…

Hello all. As so often happens, while considering V1, VR and V2, I went off on a tangent. Can any of you mathematicians or aerodynamicists tell me whether stall speed is indicated or true in the following expression? VS = √(2 W) / (r S CLmax) ... It was a late night and my brain gave up its circular path around density, pressure, temperature and elevation. At least rain and ice don't affect the runway friction in FS9. I haven't experimented with different surfaces yet. Weeks of fun ahead of me (to think I paid Captain Sim for this headache...). Finally, I found a lovely graph (x = speed, y = distance) of the pair of curves showing distance to climb…

I woke up to this report on the news today...... Glasgow Airport: Passenger tells of panic on Jet2 plane Passengers on an Alicante-bound plane from Glasgow Airport have described "sheer panic" after "swirling" smoke in the cabin forced an emergency stop. Stephen McFadden said "people started running" as the pilot of the Jet2 737 shouted "get out, get out" following the emergency stop at 07:40. Six passengers were taken to hospital and another 11 were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The runway re-opened at 10:00. An investigation is now under way. Mr McFadden described how he and his young family had to disembark the aircraft following the emergency s…

http://www.huffingto..._n_1973107.html YANGON, Myanmar — Myanmar signed a deal with a British aviation enthusiast to allow the excavation of a World War II treasure: dozens of Spitfire fighter planes reportedly buried by the British almost 70 years ago. Aviation enthusiast David J. Cundall said earlier this year he had found the aircraft after years of searching and they were believed to be in excellent condition. While details of their reported burial are obscure, Cundall has said they were shipped to the then-British colony called Burma near the end of the war and abandoned unused and in packing cases when they were not needed. …

Well, I got recently my own credit cards (too much hassle here in Colombia, and fees too high for my liking, but that's another topic), and looking at some great FS9 addons, my wallet has started to itch me (previously, I borrowed my girlfriend's CC). However, some of the addons accept Paypal only. How secure is using Paypal instead of using the CC directly? After being issued my cards, I've only purchased the iFly 737, but I'm aware of Flight1's reputation and thus I didn't mind to enter directly my CC data.

An Air Canada Boeing 777 enroute from Vancouver to Sydney was requested from Australian Maritime Safety Authority to divert and look for a yacht in distress. The aircraft descended from cruise altitude to 3500' and the flight crew borrowed some binoculars from the passengers to search for the yacht, and report the situation back to Australian Authorities. Pretty cool....Here is a news feed: http://www.cbc.ca/ne...cue-sailor.html
