A nice little Sim for the iPad & Android. I thought it was cool, especially for 99 cents. Its amazing the things these little tablets can do, now! B) Take a look!

Has anyone ever flown a Robin 2160 or an Alpha 160? What do you think of them? Nice airplane? I'm thinking of getting out of warriors and into something smaller and more fun

GREAT to see Avsim back with it's own TS server. Also, very cool to see who is ONLINE, with the TSviewer display on the Avsim Home page. However, when looking at the connection logs on TsViewer, Avsim's configuration seems to be set to UTC + 1. This seems a little strange. Avsim is an International Aviation site.. should the time on TSviewer not be set to UTC + 0 ?? It's a little confusing to see connection logs with the the scale 1 hour off from GMT/UTC

I'm not sure if I saw this here, or at airliners.net, but either way I'll post it as a commenter points out, not a single A320, CRJ, T7(of course), or even 737NG. just metal and smoke. Absolutely gorgeous!

Up until last last the only commercial airliners I'd flown in FSX were Boeing and McDonald Douglas. Last night I have the A320 a whirl, and everything went fine until landing. Imagine my dismay when upon crossing the runway threshold and landing a little long, the aircraft called me a "retard". In fact, it called me a retard TWICE! I replied "you're a retard" after the second time, which seemed to anger the aircraft as it stopped talking to me after that. I booted up and did another landing, this time I WAS spot on, but the aircraft must have still be upset about the first exchange we'd had because it called me a retard AGAIN, and AGAIN! I conceded defeat at th…

Hey all, I have every addon aircraft for FSX I could possibly need. I do have room for 1 more and have the final contenders reduced to a total of 5 that meet my criteria. Please help with opinions and advise on these aircraft. There are some old classics here and the new DC-9. The 5 finalists, in no particular order, are: LEONARDO MADDOG MD-81 FlightSimLabs CONCORDE X CAPTAIN SIM 777 (although still in dev.) Flight1 ATR 72-500 Coolsky Classic DC-9 Which would you select and why? Thanks!!! Which would you pick and why?

Should Avsim have an Instagram. Maybe to post pictures of addons or reviews. Just a thought. Happy Landings!

I was recently busted by my wife for making too many payware purchases. Between RealAir and Carenado, I spent over $100.00 in six weeks. I got out of control. Too much good stuff out there to enhance the hobby. Is FSX dead? Hardly. I really think the add-on developers have done a great job keeping the hobby fresh, and I am especially glad to see development of general aviation aircraft. I lucked out--the same month I went on a payware buying rampage, I started a new job with much better compensation. So my wife has let me out on probation. When I was a young boy, I thought about being married someday. Never did I think that I would quake in my boots when my s…

Slightly off-topic, but an interesting look into a typical airline's fleet composition and average aircraft age.

I keep wondering when somebody will get blown off into the sunset like Mary Poppins. Or when somebody is going to have an embarrassing "wardrobe malfunction" (note kid falling flat on his face) Why does this remind me of the scene in Close Encounters when the true believers are waiting on the UFOs and the army helicopters arrive?

It is being reported an Emirates A380 had an engine failure and was forced to return to Sydney. The passengers describe a "flash" before 2 or 3 metre long flames were seen from the engine, accompanied with some vibration. The aircraft returned to origin and landed uneventfully. Emirates does not have the same engine type as Qantas, who is still having issues with RR engines, one aircraft is currently undergoing an engine change due to a cracked gearbox, and the rest of the fleet running at reduced power rates as their RR engines require a new mod which will render them out of action for a while.

Hey everyone I was just going over my credit card statement for the last 30 days and to my shock I had €244 on add-ons. In 30 days alone! I didn’t even think I got that many new additions Aerosoft EDDL, Fly Tapa Dubai, Flight1 Super 80 to name a few. I’m afraid to look at previous months in case it turns me off playing FSX In the next few months we will hopefully have our much anticipated PMDG 777, Aerosoft A320 Extended, Orbx UK, and perhaps ( but I doubt it ) FSlabs Airbus. There is no end to the spending in sight Is this normal? Do you set a limit? Should I cancel PAYPAL because it’s far too easy to pay ( Sure it’s not real money  ) Not …

Looking for new upcoming titles, you always see that multi-platform stuff with the nowadays common free to play concept, mainly grabbing your wallet after 5 minutes of gameplay and spoiling PC players with the limitations of the consoles. Now I came across this because they've promoted their latest tech video. http://www.robertssp...m/star-citizen/ And I first thought it was a fake because.. PC only?, latest (Cry)engine?, old Wing Commander style space sim? Must be kidding! No, it looks really good and I've watched the cinematic trailer more than once. I didn't know Mr. Roberts (the guy behind Wing Commander) was on such a project and he seems to have quite some t…
