Hi Guys, Firstly apologies if I've posted this in the wrong forum, it's quite a vast place ol' Avsim! Just a quick one really, does anyone know of an online resource which shows Easyjet flight numbers and their actual voice callsigns? e.g. EZY7345 (U27345) VOICE: EZY337W I've done a few searches on Google to come up with nothing, and I've even joined jetva.co.uk hoping they had the information; I'm yet to find it on there. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be very appreciative. Thanks in advance! - Tyler

My questions is this: With so many brilliant scenery designers, aircraft modellers, and computer fs nerds out there; how come nobody has created a new flight simulator like fsx? Pardon my igorance, but why would a company like Orbx make awesome scenery for fsx, and not be focusing their energy on making New Flight Sim awesomeness 2015 or something of their own ....think $$$$$$? Is it hard to build something like flight simulator x? I guess that's a rhetorical quesion...interface design, art design, marketing, scenery design and programming, simulation physics, aircraft modelling, access to huge photo-based resources like satellite imagery, and an army of creatives …

On the way to work this morning I saw something very strange on the highway. It was a UPS delivery van pulling what looked like a special trailer with little wheels; it looked similar in style to most airport vehicles that are designed to be pulled by a tug. On this special little trailer was a UPS aircraft cargo container. Three sides were metal, one side was clear. You could see that it was fully loaded with packages through the clear side. I thought this was very strange for a number of reasons. a. Why on earth is an aircraft container on the highway? These are normally unloaded and sorted at the cargo facility at the airport. a-2. The normal plausible explanation…

It's not the 90's anymore, still it seems like most of the better known software stores online still refuse to display the US currency price. Fine. But, when I expect to purchase an item that costs for example, 29 euros then the current market exchange rate should be used (right?). So today I went onto a site to purchase the product, which is priced at 29 euros and change. I pull up a popular currency calculator and convert the exchange, which puts the price at around $37 US dollars. Sounds like a good deal, so I go back to purchase the plane, put it in the cart and then proceed to make the actual sale. The website goes and fetches the credit card processing pag…

Hello guys, I really need your help. For the past three weeks or so, I've been getting severe migraines, everyday for 24 hours, and so, quite naturally I decided to go have it checked out. I went to the doctor on Tuesday of this week, and she prescribed 2 different types of medication 1 for migraines and one for sinusitis. Ciproxin 500mg and Tonopan respectively. The original dosage was as follows 1 Cipro every 12 hours, for 2 weeks, and two tablets of Tonopan whenever there's the onset of a migraine. I thought this had finally solved my problem. Anyway, stupid me had gone home that same afternoon and took 2 doses of the Cipro after eating, as I confused it with the two…

Now that after my long sim journey of 2012, started in full immersion with MS FLIGHT, soon followed by the big deception of it's fate, then back to FSX Gold after 4 yrs away, still the best overall civil flight simulation platform ever produced, IMNHO... :-) then XP10 for as long as I could stand it.... sorry :-( then AeroflyFS (nah....) and FINALLY!!!!! Last but certainly not least!!!! **** DCS World ***** (with a smile in my lips (Oops!... typo...) like the one I got when I first started MS FLIGHT early this year, but bigger because DCS World, the P-51 and the BS2 are AMAZING!!!!! like anything else in the world of flight simulation for the PC - whow... stro…

Just curious if you guys are interested in putting a couple more game-specific rooms and such on the TS server. For example, I enjoy meeting up and playing some co-op DCS missions with me buds every once a while. We usually use a popular clans server or something along those lines. We have found though lately these TS servers get chalk-full of racist troollers and all sorts of offensive muck lately, no matter which room you try and hide in. In the meantime, we'll probably just use one of the flying group rooms.

Went to OZx Paints - Forum today to re-download the Redbull livery for the F1 PC-12... I noticed (for the first time ever in four? years) OZx is having a "Donation Drive For Upcoming Costs". For those not aware, amazing amount of liveries (and other goodies like sceneries) for many of your favorite FSX add-on aircraft. Very easy to do and worth considering especially if you enjoy the OZx downloads. Link below for anyone interested. http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/portal/

I've got an aircraft I bought a few months ago that I really enjoy, but have been unable to find any repaints available. I bought FSRepaint last night (on sale at PCAviator for $20) and decided I was finally going to learn how to do repaints. I'm using it with PS CS6, and its been going quite well so far! Anyhow, this aircraft that I'm fond of has a repaint kit available from the publishers website. The catch is, you have to own it to get the paint kit. Furthermore, according to their records I don't own this add-on, so I've been blocked from downloading it. I just sent the publisher an email with my order details at the vendor I published from, so I do expe…

My college offers a certificate program for airframe and powerplant. So I decided after i graduate with my associates degree in May I will sign up for the program. I'm very good with mechanics (been working on cars since about 12 years old). My question is for any aviation mechanics (or anyone knowledgable in the field) is, is it worth it? do you still enjoy it? and how are the job oppurtunities? Thanks Everyone.

Hello Guys. I am a pilot based out of a Commercial US airport. I have made friends with one of the tower controllers. He is a super nice guy and when I am in town, he texts me when any interesting or high profile flights come through. (USAF F15 Flight of 4: touch and go and approach practices last week!) Anyway, for those of you who are unfamiliar with flight ops, in the US and most other countries, there is something called a Flight Progress Strip. This is sent to a special printer in the tower or enroute facility. There are strips for arrivals, departures, and enroute aircraft that pass through a certain facility. It contains information like AC Type, Routing, A…

Hey folks, hope all is well for you! Got a question for y'all. I am deaf with a little bit of hearing when using hearing aids, and am an active licensed private pilot. I fly either out of uncontrolled airports with no radio comm (nordo), OR out of controlled airports with prior telephone arrangement and radio transmissions on my part only, with no receiving. I get return communication via light gun signals. Works fine for me... however I am always trying to think of ways to enable me to use full, two-way communication with such a severe hearing loss. I recently got my hands on some new digital hearing aids, along with a bluetooth streamer that streams audio …

At the AVSIM Boardof Directors meeting in November, the decision was made to shut down the AVSIM Store, and to remove AVSIM from that aspect of flight simulation. There are a number of reasons for taking this step. The first is that we have concluded that AVSIM should not be in in product sales and distribution. By shutting down the store, we return to our roots and remove any potential appearance of lack of objectivity in our reviews and our public comments. The new AVSIM Store, which was established in June of 2012, will continue to provide access to purchaser's files through their forum client area from their User Control Panel. Purchases prior to June of 2012 from…

I'm starting research to take my FS airports back in time with new buildings and afcads and whatnot, so I was wondering if anyone knew where a good source of backdated info might be, for airports like KJFK, KLAX, KSFO, KMIA, KORD, EGLL, EHAM, LEMD, EDDF, YSSY, and WSSS. Maybe RJAA and RJTT as well. Particularly looking towards the 80's and 90's.
